BACKGROUND Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)is a devastating malignancy and has a very poor prognosis if tumors spread outside the *** the molecular mechanisms underlying the CCA progression will likely yield therapeutic approaches toward treating this deadly *** To determine the molecular pathogenesis in CCA *** In silico analysis,in vitro cell culture,CCA transgenic animals,histological,and molecular assays were adopted to determine the molecular *** The transcriptomic data of human CCA samples were retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TGCA,CHOL),European Bioinformatics Institute(EBI,GAD-00001001076),and Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO,GSE107943)*** Gene set enrichment analysis,the cell cycle and Notch related pathways were demonstrated to be significantly activated in CCA in TCGA and GEO ***,through differentially expressed genes,found several cell cycle and notch associated genes were significantly up-regulated in cancer tissues when compared with the non-cancerous control *** associated genes,via quantitative real-time PCR and western blotting assays,were further examined in normal human cholangiocytes,CCA cell lines,mouse normal bile ducts,and mouse CCA tumors established by specifically depleting P53 and expressing KrasG12D mutation in the ***,we validated that the cell cycle and Notch pathways are up-regulated in CCA cell lines and mouse CCA ***,targeting cell cycle and notch pathways using small molecules also exhibited significant beneficial effects in controlling tumor *** importantly,we demonstrated that several cell cycle and Notch associated genes are significantly associated with poor overall survival and disease-free survival using the Log-Rank *** In summary,our study comprehensively analyzed the gene expression pattern of CCA samples using publicly available datasets and identified the cell cycle and Notch pathways are po

Relationship between dew presence and Bassia dasyphylla plant growth

Dew has been recognized for its ecological significance and has also been identified as an additional source of water in arid zones. We used factorial control experiment, under dew presence in the field, to explore photosynthetic performance, water status and growth response of desert annual herbage. Bassia dasyphylla seedlings were grown in contrasting dew treatments （dew-absent and dew-present） and different watering regimes （normal and deficient）. The effects of dew on the water status and photosynthetic performance of Bassia dasyphylla grown in a desert area of the Hexi Corridor in Northwestern China, were evaluated. The results indicated the pres- ence of dew significantly increased relative water content （RWC） of shoots and total biomass of plants in both water regimes, and enhanced the diurnal shoot water potential and stomatal conductance in the early morning, as well as photosynthetic rate, which reached its maximum only in the water-stressed regime. The presence of dew increased aboveground growth of plants and photosynthate accumulation in leaves, but decreased the root-to-shoot ratio in both water regimes. Dew may have an important role in improving plant water status and ameliorating the adverse effects of plants exposed to prolonged drought.

Digital picture forgery detection has recently become a popular and sig-nificant topic in image *** to advancements in image processing and the availability of sophisticated software,picture fabrication may hide evidence and hinder the detection of such criminal *** practice of modifying origi-nal photographic images to generate a forged image is known as digital image forging.A section of an image is copied and pasted into another part of the same image to hide an item or duplicate particular image elements in copy-move *** order to make the forgeries real and inconspicuous,geometric or post-processing techniques are frequently performed on tampered regions during the tampering *** Copy-Move forgery detection,the high similarity between the tampered regions and the source regions has become crucial *** most frequent way for detecting copy-move forgeries is to partition the images into overlapping square blocks and utilize Discrete cosine transform(DCT)com-ponents as block *** to the high dimensionality of the feature space,Gaussian Radial basis function(RBF)kernel based Principal component analysis(PCA)is used to minimize the dimensionality of the feature vector repre-sentation,which improves feature matching *** this paper,we propose to use a novel enhanced Scale-invariant feature transform(SIFT)detector method called as RootSIFT,combined with the similarity measures to mark the tampered areas in the *** proposed method outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods in terms of matching time complexity,detection reliability,and forgery location accuracy,according to the experimental *** F1 score of the proposed method is 92.3%while the literature methods are around 90%on an average.

Presently,video surveillance is commonly employed to ensure security in public places such as traffic signals,malls,railway stations,etc.A major chal-lenge in video surveillance is the identification of anomalies that exist in it such as crimes,thefts,and so ***,the anomaly detection in pedestrian walkways has gained significant attention among the computer vision communities to enhance pedestrian *** recent advances of Deep Learning(DL)models have received considerable attention in different processes such as object detec-tion,image classification,*** this aspect,this article designs a new Panoptic Feature Pyramid Network based Anomaly Detection and Tracking(PFPN-ADT)model for pedestrian *** proposed model majorly aims to the recognition and classification of different anomalies present in the pedestrian walkway like vehicles,skaters,*** proposed model involves panoptic seg-mentation model,called Panoptic Feature Pyramid Network(PFPN)is employed for the object recognition *** object classification,Compact Bat Algo-rithm(CBA)with Stacked Auto Encoder(SAE)is applied for the classification of recognized *** ensuring the enhanced results better anomaly detection performance of the PFPN-ADT technique,a comparison study is made using Uni-versity of California San Diego(UCSD)Anomaly data and other benchmark data-sets(such as Cityscapes,ADE20K,COCO),and the outcomes are compared with the Mask Recurrent Convolutional Neural Network(RCNN)and Faster Convolu-tional Neural Network(CNN)*** simulation outcome demonstrated the enhanced performance of the PFPN-ADT technique over the other methods.

The visualization of the surface of biological samples using an atomic force microscope reveals features of the external relief and can resolve very fine and detailed features of the *** examined specimens from the skin of the amphibians Salamandra salamandra Linnaeus,1758,Lyciasalamandra luschani basoglui Baran&Atatür,1980 and Mesotriton alpestris Laurenti,1768,and from the surface of pollen grains of the plant species Cyclamen graecum Link,1835 and Cistus salviifolius Linnaeus,1753,which exhibit certain interesting features,imaged at the nanoscale *** is likely that the relief influences the attributes of the interfaces between the tissues and the *** found that the microsculpture increases in size the surface of the examined tissues and this might be particularly important for their performance in the *** of amphibians’skin may affect water regulation,dehydration and rehydration,and cutaneous gas *** grain relief might affect the firmness of the contact between pollen surface and water *** resolution imaging of the external relief showed that roughening might induce wetting and influence the water status of the *** addition,roughness affects the radius of water droplets retained in between the projections of the external *** of the tissues was highly correlated with their vertical distance,whereas surface distances were highly correlated with horizontal *** enabling a more detailed characterization of the external sculptures,through sophisticated techniques,a more comprehensive examination of the samples indicates similarities among different living tissues,originated from different kingdoms,which can be attributed to environmental conditions and physiological circumstances.
