Plant pathogenic fungi are a large and diverse assemblage of eukaryotes with substantial impacts on natural ecosystems and human *** taxa often have complex and poorly understood life cycles,lack observable,discriminatory morphological characters,and may not be amenable to in vitro *** a result,species identification is frequently ***(DNA sequence)data have emerged as crucial information for the taxonomic identification of plant pathogenic fungi,with the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer(ITS)region being the most popular ***,international nucleotide sequence databases are accumulating numerous sequences of compromised or low-resolution taxonomic annotations and substandard technical quality,making their use in the molecular identification of plant pathogenic fungi *** we report on a concerted effort to identify high-quality reference sequences for various plant pathogenic fungi and to re-annotate incorrectly or insufficiently annotated public ITS sequences from these fungal lineages.A third objective was to enrich the sequences with geographical and ecological *** results-a total of 31,954 changes-are incorporated in and made available through the UNITE database for molecular identification of fungi(http://***),including standalone FASTA files of sequence data for local BLAST searches,use in the next-generation sequencing analysis platforms QIIME and mothur,and related *** present initiative is just a beginning to cover the wide spectrum of plant pathogenic fungi,and we invite all researchers with pertinent expertise to join the annotation effort.

Lebesgue points via the Poincar inequality

We show that in a Q doubling space(X, d, μ), Q > 1, which satisfies a chain condition, if we have a Q Poincar′e inequality for a pair of functions(u, g) where g ∈ LQ(X), then u has Lebesgue points Hh a.e. for h(t) = log1-Q-ε(1/t). We also discuss how the existence of Lebesgue points follows for u ∈ W 1,Q(X) where(X, d, μ) is a complete Q doubling space supporting a Q Poincar′e inequality for Q > 1.

Traces of weighted function spaces: Dyadic norms and Whitney extensions

The trace spaces of Sobolev spaces and related fractional smoothness spaces have been an active area of research since the work of Nikolskii, Aronszajn, Slobodetskii, Babich and Gagliardo among others in the 1950's. In this paper, we review the literature concerning such results for a variety of weighted smoothness spaces. For this purpose, we present a characterization of the trace spaces(of fractional order of smoothness),based on integral averages on dyadic cubes, which is well-adapted to extending functions using the Whitney extension operator.

Acute and Persistent Post-Craniotomy Pain: A Prospective 6-Month Follow-Up Questionnaire Study

Introduction: The incidence of acute pain after craniotomy differs remarkably in previous studies, and the prevalence of persistent pain is not precisely known. We conducted 6-month follow-up surveys on the incidence and intensity of acute and persistent pain after elective craniotomy. Methods: We carried out a prospective cohort study via a series of structured questionnaires to record acute pain intensity preoperatively and postoperatively, and the incidence of persistent pain 3 and 6 months after a craniotomy in a tertiary care center. Patients scheduled for elective craniotomy were interviewed the day before surgery, postoperatively before discharge from the hospital, and 3 and 6 months after surgery. Pain was assessed on a numeric rating scale (0 - 10) at rest and movement, as well as expectations of pain before surgery, efficacy of pain therapy, and satisfaction with pain treatment. The incidence of adverse events, sleep time and interruptions caused by pain, different pain types, and drugs used for pain treatment were also recorded. Results: A total of 152 patients were enrolled in the study and completed the preoperative questionnaire;123 (81%) completed postoperative questionnaire and 108 (72%) completed the 3- and 6-month follow-ups. The average pain score at the time of the postoperative questionnaire was moderate, 4 at rest and 5 upon movement. The percentage of patients experiencing mild pain at rest and upon movement was 52% and 49%, and moderate pain was 15% and 16%, respectively. Severe postoperative pain was detected in 5% and 8% of patients at rest and upon movement, respectively. Three months after surgery, 6% of patients reported mild pain at rest, 3% moderate pain at rest, and 1% severe pain at rest. Persistent mild and moderate pain at rest after 6 months was reported by 3% and 1% of patients, respectively. A chilled beam is a source of natural convection, creating a flow of cold air directly into the occupied zone. Experiments have been conducted in a mock up of an office room to study the air velocities in the occupied spaces. In addition, velocity profiles of a passive beam are registered with underneath heat loads when the cool and warm air flows interact. Experimental laboratory study shows that the underneath heat gains, even when no upward plume is generated and the dummy only affects as a flow obstacle, have a significant effect on the velocity profile. Furthermore in an actual occupied office environment, the thermal plumes and the supply air diffuser mix effectively the whole air volume. The maximum air velocity measured was still below 0.25 m/s with the high heat gain of 164 W/m2. The results demonstrate that a simplified analysis of an undisturbed convection flow can not accurately describe air movement and draught risk.
