In this paper, we present a gauge inflation model based on the orbifold M4×S1/Z2 with non-Abelian SU（2） gauge symmetry, which is probably the simplest model in this category. As the inflaton potential is fully radiatively generated exclusively by gauge self-interactions, the model is predictive; thus, it is protected by gauge symmetry itself, without the introduction of any additional matter fields or arbitrary interactions. We show that the model fully agrees with the recent cosmological observations within the controlled perturbative regime of gauge interactions, g4≤1/（2πRMP）, with the compactification radius（10 ≤ RMP ≤ 100）： the expected magnitude of the curvature perturbation power spectrum and the value of the corresponding spectral index are in perfect agreement with the recent observations. The model also predicts a large fraction of the gravitational waves, negligible nonGaussianity, and a sufficiently high reheating temperature.

AIM: To identify a method for efficient large-scale purification of functional hepatitis B virus polymerase (HBV-Pol) without addition of cellular factors. METHODS: Full-length HBV-Pol (843 amino acids) tagged with 5' end Polyhistidine was expressed at a high level in an Escherichia coli (E. coli ) system. Sodium dodecyl sulfate lysis buffer was utilized to dissolve insoluble HBV-Pol, and Ni-NTA resin affinity chromatography was utilized for HBV-Pol purification. Most recombinant HBV-Pol was eluted with 100 mmol/L imidazole in the presence of NP-40, a weak detergent that keeps HBV-Pol in solution. A reducing agent was utilized throughout the purification steps to keep soluble HBV-Pol from redundant disulfide bond formation. RESULTS: The large-scale production of functional intact human HBV-Pol was achieved in an E. coli expression system. Purified HBV-Pol showed stable reverse transcriptase activity and DNA polymerase activity. The purified protein was of high purity and had stable reverse transcriptase ***: Large-scale production of HBV-Pol in pure form should facilitate crystallization and detailed analysis of the structure and mechanism of HBV-Pol. Ability of this purification approach to obtain human HBV-Pol in an enzymatically active form should be helpful for development of drugs for treatment of chronic hepatitis B.

Fogs observed over Incheon international airport （IIA） in the west coast of Korea from January 2002 to August 2006 are classified into categories of coastal fog, cold sea fog, and warm sea fog based on the areal extent of the fogs and the difference between the air temperature （T ） and the SST, i.e., cold sea fog if TSST = T -SST 〉 0~0C and warm sea fog if TSST 〈 0~0C. The numbers of coastal, cold, and warm sea fog cases are 64, 26, and 9. Coastal fogs form most frequently in winter, while cold sea fogs occur mostly in summer and warm sea fogs are observed from January to May but not in November and December. On average the air gets colder by 1.6~0C during the three hours leading up to the coastal fog formation, and an additional cooling of 1.1~0C occurs during the fog. The change in the dew point temperature （T_d） is minimal except during the fog （0.6~0C）. Decreases in T for the cold and warm sea fogs are relatively smaller. The average Td is higher than SST during the cold sea fog periods but this T_d is more than 4~0C higher than that for the corresponding non-fog days, suggesting that cold sea fogs be formed by the cooling of already humid air （i.e., T_d〉SST）. Increases of T_d are significant during the warm sea fog periods （1.4~0C）, implying that effcient moisture supply is essential to warm sea fog formation. Four major synoptic patterns are identified in association with the observed fogs. The most frequent is a north Pacific high that accounts for 38% of cases. Surface or upper inversions are present in 77%, 69%, and 81% of the fog periods for coastal, cold, and warm sea fogs, respectively.

A total of 16 specimens of fossil-winged fruits were found from the Middle Miocene marine deposits, Duho Formation, Pohang Basin, Korea. They were identified into two structurally different groups： 15 specimens into a winged fruit of Fraxinus, and one specimen of Liriodendron. The most samaras （13 specimens） were identified as Fraxinus oishii, which is characterized by narrowly ovate or ovate-elliptic shapes that are 2.7-3.6 cm in length and 0.7-1 cm in width （i/w ratio=3.4-4）. The apexes of the Fraxinus oishii samara are round or slightly emarginated, and a seed of the samara is always located at the base, of which the general shape is narrow rhombic-ellipsoidal. The seed is 1.2-2 cm long and 0.5-0.7 cm wide. Two specimens are different from the samara of Fraxinus oishii. They have a 6.6 length/width ratio （3.3 cm long and 0.5 cm wide）, and thus, are temporarily classified into the Fraxinus sp. One specimen was recognized as a winged seed of Liriodendron meisenense. The wing is broadly lanceolate to elliptic in shape, has a smooth, acute apex, and is approximately 3 cm long and 0.7 cm wide. Samaras of Fraxinus oishii and Liriodendron meisenense were early reported from the Middle Miocene deposits from North Korea, but these specimens are the first discovery in South Korea. Further study of the Duho Formation may connect flora relationships between North and South Korea.

AIM：To investigate the incidence and general characteristics of sports-related eye injuries in patients visiting the Emergency Department. This paper presents an approach to the challenging is- sue of passive source localization in shallow water using a mobile short horizontal linear array with length less than ten meters. The short array can be conveniently placed on autonomous underwa- ter vehicles and deployed for adaptive spatial sampling. However, the use of such small aperture passive sonar systems makes it difficult to acquire sufficient spatial gain for localizing long-range sources. To meet the requirement, a localization approach that employs matched-field based techniques that enable the short ho- rizontal linear array is used to passively localize acoustic sources in shallow water. Furthermore, the broadband processing and inter-position processing provide robustness against ocean en- vironmental mismatch and enhance the stability of the estimation process. The proposed approach＇s ability to localize acoustic sources in shallow water at different signal-to-noise ratios is examined through the synthetic test cases where the sources are located at the endfire and some other bearing of the mobile short horizontal linear array. The presented results demonstrate that the positional parameters of the estimated source build up over time as the array moves at a low speed along a straight line at a constant depth.

As energy crisis and environment pollution all around the world threaten the widespread use of fossil fuels,compressed natural gas(CNG)vehicles are explored as an alternative to the conventional gasoline powered *** of the limited space available for the car,the composite pressure vessel(TypeⅡ)has been applied to the CNG vehicles to reach large capacity and weight lightening *** pressure vessel(TypeⅡ)is composed of a composite layer and a metal *** metal liner is formed by the deep drawing and ironing(D.D.I.)process,which is a complex process of deep drawing and *** cylinder part is reinforced by composite layer wrapped through the filament winding process and is bonded to the liner by the curing *** this study,an integrated design method was presented by establishing the techniques for FE analysis of entire processes(D.D.I.,filament winding and curing processes)to manufacture the CNG composite pressure vessel(TypeⅡ).Dimensions of the dies and the punches of the 1 st(cup drawing),2 nd(redrawing-ironing 1-ironing 2)and 3 rd(redrawing-ironing)stages were calculated theoretically,and shape of tractrix die to be satisfied with the minimum forming load was suggested for life improvement and manufacturing costs in the *** of the composite material was determined in the filament winding process,finally,conditions of the curing process(number of heating stage,curing temperature,heating rate and time)were proposed to reinforce adhesive strength between the composite layers.

Meso-porous Si-coated carbon nanotube （CNT） composite powders were prepared by combining a sol-gel method and the magnesiothermic reduction process. Meso-porous Si-coated CNT electrodes exhibit excellent cycle and rate performances as anodes in Li-ion batteries （LIBs）, which can be attributed to the efficient accommodation of volume change from meso-porous Si structure and the enhanced electrical conductivity from CNT core. This simple synthesis and subsequent reduction process provide a scalable route for the large-scale production of Si-C composite nanostructures, which can be utilized in a variety of applications, such as in photocatalysis, photoelectrochemical cells （PECs）, and LIBs.

AIM:To investigate and compare the visual and refractive outcomes of small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE),laser assisted sub-epithelial keratomileusis(LASEK),and LASEK combined with corneal collagen cross-linking(LASEKCXL)surgery in patients with less than 500μm of central corneal thickness(CCT).METHODS:The retrospective medical records review was conducted on the patients with CCT less than 500μm treated with SMILE,LASEK,and *** was a total of 172 eyes,76 eyes were in the SMILE group,53 eyes in the LASEK group,and 43 eyes in the LASEK-CXL *** distance visual acuity(UDVA),spherical equivalent refraction(SE),and corneal haze were followed up in the three groups for 12 ***:At 12 mo postoperatively,there were no statistically significant differences in UDVA and in the absolute value of SE between the three *** predictability within±0.50 D in the SMILE group(85.5%)was significantly higher than in both the LASEK group(64.2%,P<0.01)and the LASEK-CXL group(69.8%,P=0.04).The efficacy index and safety index were not significantly different among the three *** haze at 12 mo postoperatively was higher in the LASEK-CXL group(27.9%)than in the SMILE group(2.6%,P<0.01)and in the LASEK group(7.5%,P<0.01).CONCLUSION:In patients with CCT less than 500μm,SMILE,LASEK,and LASEK-CXL appear to be effective for myopic *** them,SMILE surgery shows the highest predictability.
