Chronic pain often develops severe mood changes such as ***,how chronic pain leads to depression remains elusive and the mechanisms determining individuals’responses to depression are largely *** we found that depression-like behaviors could only be observed in 67.9%of mice with chronic neuropathic pain,leaving 32.1%of mice with depression *** determined that the spike discharges of the ventral tegmental area(VTA)-projecting lateral habenula(LHb)glutamatergic(Glu)neurons were sequentially increased in sham,resilient and susceptible mice,which consequently inhibited VTA dopaminergic(DA)neurons through a LHbGlu-VTAGABA-VTADA ***,the LHbGlu-VTADA excitatory inputs were dampened via GABAB receptors in a pre-synaptic *** of LHb-VTA pathway largely affected the development of depressive symptoms caused by chronic *** study thus identifies a pivotal role of the LHb-VTA pathway in coupling chronic pain with depression and highlights the activity-dependent contribution of LHbGlu-to-VTADA inhibition in depressive behavioral regulation.

Heterogeneous expression of multiple genes in the nucleus of transgenic plants requires theintroduction of an individual gene and the subsequent backcross to reconstitute multi-subunit proteins ormetabolic *** order to accomplish the expression of multiple genes in a single transformationevent,we inserted both large and small subunits of allophycocyanin gene (apcA and apcB) into Chlamydomonasreinhardtii chloroplast expression vector,resulting in *** constructed vector was then introducedinto the chloroplast of *** by micro-particle *** chain reaction and Southernblot analysis revealed that the two genes had integrated into the chloroplast *** blot andenzyme-linked immunosorbent assay showed that the two genes from the prokaryotic cyanobacteria couldbe correctly expressed in the chloroplasts of *** expressed foreign protein in transformantsaccounted for about 2%-3% of total soluble *** findings pave the way to the reconstitution ofmulti-subunit proteins or metabolic pathways in transgenic *** chloroplasts in a single transformationevent.

Discrimination between Demodex folliculorum(Acari:Demodicidae) isolates from china and Spain based on mitochondrial cox1 sequences

For a long time,classification of Demodex mites has been based mainly on their hosts and phenotypic characteristics.A new subspecies of Demodex folliculorum has been proposed,but not ***,cox1 partial sequences of nine isolates of three Demodex species from two geographical sources(china and Spain) were studied to conduct molecular identification of *** showed that the mitochondrial cox1 fragments of five *** isolates from the facial skin of Chinese individuals were 429 bp long and that their sequence identity was 97.4%.The average sequence divergence was 1.24% among the five Chinese isolates,0.94% between the two geographical isolate groups(china(5) and Spain(1)),and 2.15% between the two facial tissue sources(facial skin(6) and eyelids(1)).The genetic distance and rate of third-position nucleotide transition/transversion were 0.0125,2.7(3/1) among the five Chinese isolates,0.0094,3.1(3/1) between the two geographical isolate groups,and 0.0217,4.4(3/1) between the two facial tissue *** trees showed that *** from the two geographical isolate groups did not form sister clades,while those from different facial tissue sources *** to the molecular characteristics,it appears that subspecies differentiation might not have occurred and that *** isolates from the two geographical sources are of the same ***,population differentiation might be occurring between isolates from facial skin and eyelids.

Interactive Effects of Lead and Bensulfuron-Methyl on Decomposition of ^(14)C-Glucose in Paddy Soils

little information is available on the interactive effects of inorganic and organic pollutants on carbon utilization by soil *** study examined the effects of two common soil pollutants,lead(Pb) and bensulfuron-methyl herbicide(BSM),on decomposition of an adscititious carbon source(14C-glucose).Two contrasting paddy soils,a silty clay soil and a clay loam soil,were incubated with different concentrations and combinations of pollutants for 60 *** rotatable central composite design was adopted to design the combinations of the pollutant concentrations so that rate response curves could be *** decomposition of 14C-glucose occurred in the first three days for both soils where no Pb or BSM was added(control).Overall,63%-64% of the added 14C-glucose was decomposed in the control over the 60-day *** addition of Pb or BSM significantly decreased the decomposition of 14C-glucose during the first week but increased the decomposition thereafter;as a result,the percentages of 14C-glucose decomposed(57%-77%) over the 60-day period were similar to or higher than those of the *** of the pollutants in combination did not further inhibit decomposition compared with the ***,decomposition rates were lower in the silty clay soil than in the clay loam soil,which was related to the soil texture,cation exchange capacity,and *** relationship between the decomposition rates and the pollutants could be well characterized by the quadratic regression orthogonal rotation *** initial antagonistic effects of the pollutants followed by the synergistic effects on microbial activity might result from changes of the concentrations of the pollutants.

Developing Cu single-atom catalysts(SACs)with well-defined active sites is highly desirable for producing CH4 in the electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction and understanding the structure-property ***,a new graphdiyne analogue with uniformly distributed N2-bidentate(note that N2-bidentate site=N^N-bidentate site;N2¹dinitrogen gas in this work)sites are *** to the strong interaction between Cu and the N2-bidentate site,a Cu SAC with isolated undercoordinated Cu-N2 sites(Cu1.0/N2-GDY)is obtained,with the Cu loading of 1.0 wt%.Cu1.0/N2-GDY exhibits the highest Faradaic efficiency(FE)of 80.6%for CH4 in electrocatalytic reduction of CO_(2)at-0.96 V ***,and the partial current density of CH4 is 160 mA cm^(-2).The selectivity for CH4 is maintained above 70%when the total current density is 100 to 300 mA cm^(-2).More remarkably,the Cu1.0/N2-GDY achieves a mass activity of 53.2 A/mgCu toward CH4 under-1.18 V *** situ electrochemical spectroscopic studies reveal that undercoordinated Cu-N2 sites are more favorable in generating key*COOH and*CHO intermediate than Cu nanoparticle *** work provides an effective pathway to produce SACs with undercoordinated Metal-N2 sites toward efficient electrocatalysis.

Factors influencing the results of treatment of bile duct injuries during laparoscopic cholecystectomy

BACKGROUND: The short-term results of repair of lapa- roscopic bile duct injuries have been well discussed, but the long-term results have been rarely reported. This study was undertaken to evaluate the factors influencing the outcome of repair of bile duct injuries caused by laparoscopic chole- cystectomy. METHODS: The outcomes of repair of bile duct injuries caused by laparoscopic cholecystectomy in 31 patients were reviewed retrospectively, and the effects of injury recogni- tion, cholangiography, repair modality and techniques on the long-term results were analyzed. RESULTS: Bile duct injuries were repaired successfully in 19 (95%) of 20 patients with injuries who had been recog- nized intraoperatively, and in 10 (90%) of 11 patients with injuries who had been recognized postoperatively. Repair was successful in 29 (93% ) of the 31 patients after complete cholangiography. Closure of partial division, laceration, or small perforation of the bile duct with or without T tube drainage was satisfactory in the 23 patients. End to end re- pair over T tube was successful in 2 transection patients, who were detected intraoperatively. Roux-en-Y hepatico- jejunostomy was used successfully to repair transection, ex- cision or stricture of the bile duct in 4 of 5 patients (80% ). CONCLUSION: Early detection of bile duct injuries caused by laparoscopy, complete evaluation of the biliary duct, and appropriate surgical modality and techniques are help- ful to improve the results of repair for laparoscopic bile duct injuries.

Improved Sampling and Reconstruction in Spline Subspaces

As a special shift-invariant spaces, spline subspaces yield many advantages so that there are many practical applications for signal or image processing. In this paper, we pay attention to the sampling and reconstruction problem in spline subspaces. We improve lower bound of sampling set conditions in spline subspaces. Based on the improved explicit lower bound, a improved explicit convergence ratio of reconstruction algorithm is obtained. The improved convergence ratio occupies faster convergence rate than old one. At the end, some numerical examples are shown to validate our results.
