According to the World Health Organization, diabetes affects approximately 347 million people worldwide. Its management is not within the reach of all social classes, therefore medicinal plants are still the first resort for many populations in Africa. The biological material used in this study was the trunk bark of Guibourtia tessmannii. 50 g of trunk bark powder were decocted in 500 ml of distilled water for 5 minutes were carried out. The method used for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNps) was an organometallic bio-reduction of silver nitrate salts mediated by various secondary metabolites contained in the plant extract. The study of the toxicity acute was conducted according to guideline 423 of the OECD protocol. The pharmacological activities were each carried out with 28 female rats divided into 7 groups of four rats. It was a question for the hypoglycemic activity of administering various doses of silver nanoparticles and other substances to the rats thirty minutes after the carbohydrate intake and for the anti-hyperglycemic activity of administering the same substances to the rats thirty minutes before the carbohydrate intake. The extraction yield was 8.76%. Only the alkaloid test was negative. After acute toxicity study, the LD50 was greater than 2000 mg/kg. Blood sugar tests revealed that glibenclamide 5 mg/kg, which is the reference molecule, lowered blood sugar more than the other treatments applied in the other batches. It was followed by treatment with silver nanoparticles at a dose of 400 μg/kg in both tests. It was therefore concluded that silver nanoparticles from G. tessmannii are good for the formulation of improved traditional medicines and bring up their afficacity .

Analysis and control of vibration of ropes in a high-rise elevator under earthquake excitation

In this research, the vibration of elevator ropes, including the main rope and compensation rope are investigated simultaneously in a high-rise elevator system under earthquake excitation. Moreover, the paper presents a new control method to restrain the sway of both ropes. This study considers varying rope lengths during elevator operation which cause other system parameters such as natural frequency, and damping ratio to be time-variant variables. The dynamics of the ropes are analyzed by solving the governing non-stationary, nonlinear equation numerically. In order to mitigate the vibration of ropes in several motion conditions, particularly upwards movement, downward movement, stopped at the lowest position, and stopped at the highest position, an active equipment is installed at the compensation sheave. The stability of the system using the controller is analyzed at four states: without disturbance and static car, without disturbance and mobile car, including disturbance and static car, and including disturbance and mobile car. The efficiency of the controller used for dampening the vibration of elevator ropes is validated by numerical simulation results.

Open source software (OSS) has become an indispensable part of society, not only for personal use but also for corporate use. Projects developed and operated by OSS are called open source projects, and the number of such projects is increasing. On the other hand, because anyone can participate in an open source project, the progress of the project is uncertain due to differences in project members’ skills, development environments, and time zones of activity. Therefore, many users and companies need to understand the development and operation status of open source project. Then, the developers carefully make decisions on upgrading or installing new OSS. In this paper, we focus on the maintenance effort estimation for open source projects considering uncertainty. Also, we evaluate the project quantitatively using Earned Value Management (EVM). Moreover, we examine the appropriateness of the model for predicting the maintenance effort expeditures. Furthermore, we discuss the appropriateness of this EVM method.

本文主要从技术的角度对日本和中国的高速铁路技术进行比较。首先介绍日中两国高速铁路的发展简史,并用数字说明两国在高速铁路运营里程、旅客发送量和高速列车数量等方面的现状。其次,比较分析日中两国高速铁路在高速列车设计理念、自动过电分相、电磁兼容、再生制动列车导入后的相平衡措施和列车轻量化等技术方面上的差异,并侧重阐述日本在轻量化和编组动拖比优化等方面取得的成功经验。其三,介绍英国、法国和德国的高速铁路技术,并以日本为比较对象,从受流、列车超速防护、列车长度、运行图、动力方式和转向架结构等方面说明法国高速铁路技术的特点。其四,分析中日两国高速列车采用相同的动力分散方式背后的不同原因以及中国引进日欧技术导致多种技术并存的优点和缺点。其五,提出中日两国今后应重点讨论的几个技术问题,如编组动拖比优化、制动系统设计、安全和可靠性设计以及车载列控系统设计等。最后,从日中两国中速铁路和市郊铁路存在明显差异的角度,分析日中两国铁路的特殊性,提出两国在高速铁路、中速铁路以及城市轨道交通领域相互取长补短的具体方法。

The Sagaing Fault is a major tectonic structure between the Indian Plate and Sunda Plate. The fault measures 1200 km along north-south and cuts through the centre of Myanmar. Many urban areas lie along the fault. As a result, Myanmar has established a continuous Global Positioning System （cGPS） network across the Sagaing Fault since 2011. The cGPS network consists of eight cGPS stations that form two transects across the fault. The data analysis covers a period of four years from 2011 to 2014. GAMIT, GLOBK, and TRACK software suite packages are used for GPS data processing and analysis. This study consists of two main objectives. The first objective is to analyse the Myanmar cGPS network ob- servations in order to measure the moving rate and direction of movement for each cGPS station using GAMIT/GLOBK software packages. The second objective is to investigate the co-seismic moving rate associated with the earthquake event using TRACK kinematic positioning program. The analysis results indicate that the east side of the Sagaing Fault moves southeastward at the average rate of approximately 32-40 mm/a, whereas the west side of the fault moves northeastward at the rate of about 31-35 mm/a. For co-seismic analysis, two cGPS stations are analysed in connection with the 2012 M6.8 Thabeikkyin earthquake. These stations are located 50-60 km away from the epicentre. The GPS data analysis clearly showed that the station at the east side of the Sagaing Fault immediately moved south by 15.0 cm, whereas the station at the west side of the fault moved north by 3.0 cm. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the Sagaing Fault＇s tectonic activities can be monitored by cGPS observations using geodetic processing techniques. We believe that such investigation brings contribution to better understand of the tectonic activities in Myanmar and South East Asia.

Machine Learning-Based Alarms Classification and Correlation in an SDH/WDM Optical Network to Improve Network Maintenance

The evolution of telecommunications has allowed the development of broadband services based mainly on fiber optic backbone networks. The operation and maintenance of these optical networks is made possible by using supervision platforms that generate alarms that can be archived in the form of log files. But analyzing the alarms in the log files is a laborious and difficult task for the engineers who need a degree of expertise. Identifying failures and their root cause can be time consuming and impact the quality of service, network availability and service level agreements signed between the operator and its customers. Therefore, it is more than important to study the different possibilities of alarms classification and to use machine learning algorithms for alarms correlation in order to quickly determine the root causes of problems faster. We conducted a research case study on one of the operators in Cameroon who held an optical backbone based on SDH and WDM technologies with data collected from 2016-03-28 to “2022-09-01” with 7201 rows and 18. In this paper, we will classify alarms according to different criteria and use 02 unsupervised learning algorithms namely the K-Means algorithm and the DBSCAN to establish correlations between alarms in order to identify root causes of problems and reduce the time to troubleshoot. To achieve this objective, log files were exploited in order to obtain the root causes of the alarms, and then K-Means algorithm and the DBSCAN were used firstly to evaluate their performance and their capability to identify the root cause of alarms in optical network.

采用文本挖掘方法整理2014—2019年县级面板数据,研究数字普惠金融发展在缩小县域城乡收入差距中的作用与机制,并据此分析数字普惠金融与传统金融的协同效应。研究发现:数字普惠金融能够显著缩小城乡收入差距,且在东中部地区更加显著。机制分析表明:数字普惠金融主要通过“收入结构优化效应”和“信贷配置优化效应”发挥缩小城乡收入差距的作用。进一步地,数字普惠金融与传统金融在缩小城乡收入差距方面具有协同效应。从县域新型金融机构来看,村镇银行金融可得性水平越高,数字普惠金融缩小城乡收入差距效果越显著,而小额贷款公司的这一作用并不显著。
