Pomegranate rind is abundantly available as a waste material. Pomegranate Rind Extract (PRE) can be applied to cotton fabrics for its natural colours, as a mordanting agent and also for imparting certain functional properties such as fire retardancy and antimicrobial properties. This paper reviews the feasibility of Pomegranate Rind Extract to improve the functional properties of cellulosic fabrics. Studies show that varying concentrations and higher temperatures that were used to apply the extract on the fabric, resulted in enhanced functional properties. At a particular concentration, the treated fabric showed a 15 times lower burning rate in comparison with the control fabric. Also, antimicrobial efficacy has been observed against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Due to the natural colouring material, it can be used as a natural dye on cotton material. The fire retardancy of pomegranate rind extract was tested on jute material under varying alkalinity. Research has indicated that pomegranate rind extract could be used to dye polyamide as well. The rubbing and wash fastness of the finished fabrics is good. The light fastness was fair, and its antibacterial efficiency against tested bacteria was good.

We propose a broadband fiber optic parametric amplifier（FOPA） based on a near-zero ultra-flat dispersion profile with a single zero-dispersion wavelength（ZDW） by using a selective liquid infiltration *** amplifier gain and bandwidth is investigated for a variety of fiber lengths, pump power, and operating wavelengths. It is observed that sufficient peak gains and broader bandwidths can be achieved with a small negative anomalous dispersion（β2≤ 0） and a positive value of the 4th-order dispersion parameter（t β4）around the pump. We can optimize an FOPA with a bandwidth of more than 220 nm around the communications wavelength.

Obliquely propagating electron acoustic shock waves in magnetized plasma composed of stationary ions, cold and non-extensive hot electrons are investigated by deriving Korteweg–de Vries Burgers(KdVB) equation. The tangent hyperbolic method is used to solve the KdVB equation in dissipative medium. The dissipation effect is introduced in the model by means of kinematic viscosity term. The analytical calculations of the KdVB equation shows that the structures(amplitude, velocity and width) of the shock waves are modified significantly with kinematic viscosity(η_0), obliqueness(k_z) and magnetic field(ω_c). Since plasmas are ubiquitously permeated with magnetic field, it is pertinent to explore the characteristics of KdVB equation in a magnetized plasmas.

Liver fibrosis is a reversible pathological process caused by chronic liver damage and a major risk factor for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Hepatic stellate cell(HSC)activation is considered the main target for liver fibrosis ***,the efficiency of this strategy is limited due to the complex microenvironment of liver fibrosis,including excessive extracellular matrix(ECM)deposition and hypoxia-induced imbalanced ECM ***,nilotinib(NIL)-loaded hyaluronic acid(HA)-coated Ag@Pt nanotriangular nanozymes(APNH NTs)were developed to inhibit HSCs activation and remodel the microenvironment of liver *** NTs efficiently eliminated intrahepatic reactive oxygen species(ROS)due to their inherent superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)activities,thereby downregulating the expression of NADPH oxidase-4(NOX-4)and inhibiting HSCs ***,the oxygen produced by the APNH NTs further alleviated the hypoxic ***,the released NIL promoted collagen depletion by suppressing the expression of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1),thus synergistically remodeling the microenvironment of liver ***,an in vivo study in CCl_(4)-induced mice revealed that APNH NTs exhibited significant antifibrogenic effects without obvious long-term *** together,the data from this work suggest that treatment with the synthesized APNH NTs provides an enlightening strategy for remodeling the microenvironment of liver fibrosis with boosted antifibrogenic activity.

The impact of low-quality irrigation water on plant development has garnered significant attention from researchers. In light of this, two field experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance, yield, oil production and composition, as well as active constituents of Rocket(Eruca sativa Mill) cultivated in calcareous soil under saline water irrigation. Foliar sprays containing condensed molasses soluble(CMS), zinc(Zn), and boron(B) alone or in combination were used for irrigation. The data obtained from measuring various parameters of Rocket following foliar spraying with CMS, Zn, B or their combinations demonstrated that most treatments resulted in a significant increase in these parameters. The highest values for most measurements were observed when foliar application included all three components(CMS + Zn + B), resulting in a seed yield of 184.6 g/m2and an oil content of 675.3 kg/ha. Compared to the control group, the macronutrient content of N, P, K, Mg, and Ca increased by 34.4%, 56%, 42%, 45%, and 39% respectively in the seeds treated with these ***, carbohydrates, proteins, phenolics flavonoids, and antioxidants showed increases of 24%, 34%,21%, 43%, and 28% respectively compared to the control group. Gas-liquid chromatography analysis identified ten components present in the seed oil characterized by higher unsaturated fatty acids ranging from 81.28% to92.28% and lower saturated fatty acids ranging from 6.72% to 8.21%. Therefore, foliar spray application including CMS, zinc, and boron can help alleviate salinity effects on Rocket plants grown under saline water irrigation conditions while improving growth, yield, oil production, and nutritional content such as total carbohydrates, proteins, and macronutrients levels.

Relocation is an important event in the lives of several social insects whereby all colony members have to be transferred to a new nest when conditions in the old nest become unfavorable. In the current study, network tools were used to examine the organization of this goal-oriented task in the Indian queenless ant which relocate their colonies by means of tandem running. Individual ants were used as nodes and tandem runs as directed edges to construct unweighted networks. Network parameters were characterized in control relocations (CRs) and in relocations where the node with the highest outdegree, that is, the Maximum tandem leader (Max TL) was experimentally removed. These were then compared to 1) randomized networks, 2) simulated networks in which Max TL was removed, and 3) simulated networks with removal of a random leader. Not only was there complete recovery of the task, but the manner in which it was organized when Max TL was removed was comparable to CRs. The results obtained from our empirical study were significantly different from the results predicted by simulations of leader removal. At an individual level, the Max TL had a significantly higher outdegree than expected by chance alone and in her absence the substitute Max TL did comparable work. In addition, the position of the Max TL in the pathway of information flow was conserved in control and experimentally manipulated conditions. Understanding the organization of this critical event as more than the sum of individual interactions using network parameters allows us to appreciate the dynamic response of groups to perturbations.

石墨烯因其优异性能可用于传感器等诸多领域。目前,已有学者对石墨烯基气敏传感器深入研究,但较低的灵敏度和选择性限制了其发展。石墨烯的改性有助于提高其性能,例如其灵敏度和选择性。提出一种提高石墨烯基气体传感器灵敏度和选择性的方法.即通过激光手段对石墨烯进行掺杂和图案化处理,旨在石墨烯表面引入更多缺陷和活性位点。因此,为了提高石墨烯基气敏传感器的性能,石墨烯薄膜的表面通过激光图案化,并使用硝酸和氨进行改性。本课题采用CVD法在铜箔上制备石墨烯,经FeCl3刻蚀后转移至聚二甲基硅氧烷(PDMS)上,它使用硝酸,氨和激光图案进行改性。本文探索了掺杂浓度、时间和温度等参数对该传感器检测一氧化碳(CO)和一氧化氮(NO)等气体的气敏性能的影响。此外,还研究了在激光图案化处理过的石墨烯传感器表面掺杂硝酸检测其对CO和NO的传感性能。通过将图案化处理后的石墨烯传感器暴露在硝酸、氨水环境下改善传感器表面化学性质,从而达到产生更多的CO和NO缺陷和传感活性位点的目的。通过记录石墨烯基气体传感器的相对电阻检测传感器对NO和CO的气敏性能。当相对电阻最高时,表明改性石墨烯基气体传感器的灵敏度最高。结果表明,(1)改进后的石墨烯基气体传感器具有比原石墨烯基气体传感器更高的相对电阻。改性后的石墨烯气体传感器对CO和NO的灵敏度也进一步证明了传感器具有选择性。(2)硝酸改性石墨烯基气体传感器(浓度=68%;时间=10min,温度=30℃)的效果优于氨掺杂石墨烯基气体传感器。此外,经激光图案化处理的石墨烯基气体传感器的性能最好(浓度=34%;时间=10分钟,温度=25℃)。(3)硝酸和氨改性石墨烯基气体传感器的相对电阻分别为0.4%和0.04%,对CO的灵敏度因子别为9.7×103,1.3×103。相对而言,图案化石墨烯传感器具有7%的相对电阻和4×104的CO灵敏度因子。(4)硝酸和氨改性石墨烯基气体传感器对NO传感的相对电阻分别为0.5%和0.05%,对NO的灵敏度因子为9.9×103和1.4×103。掺杂硝酸的图形化石墨烯传感器的相对电阻为18%,对NO的灵敏度因子为9.9×104。本文提供了一种进一步提高石墨烯基气体传感器的选择性和灵敏度的方法。
