Adaptive Execution of Jobs in Computational Grid Environment

In a computational grid, jobs must adapt to the dynamically changing heterogeneous environment with an objective of maintaining the quality of service. In order to enable adaptive execution of multiple jobs running concurrently in a computational grid, we propose an integrated performance-based resource management framework that is supported by a multi-agent system （MAS）. The multi-agent system initially allocates the jobs onto different resource providers based on a resource selection algorithm. Later, during runtime, if performance of any job degrades or quality of service cannot be maintained for some reason （resource failure or overloading）, the multi-agent system assists the job to adapt to the system. This paper focuses on a part of our framework in which adaptive execution facility is supported. Adaptive execution facility is availed by reallocation and local tuning of jobs. Mobile, as well as static agents are employed for this purpose. The paper provides a summary of the design and implementation and demonstrates the efficiency of the framework by conducting experiments on a local grid test bed.

The availability of better economic possibilities and well-connected transportation networks has attracted people to migrate to peri-urban and rural neighbourhoods,changing the landscape of regions outside the city and fostering the growth of physical *** multi-temporal satellite images,the dynamics of Land Use/Land Cover(LULC)changes,the impact of urban growth on LULC changes,and regional environmental implications were investigated in the peri-urban and rural neighbourhoods of Durgapur Municipal Corporation in *** study used different case studies to highlight the study area’s heterogeneity,as the phenomenon of change is not *** TM and OLI-TIRS satellite images in 1991,2001,2011,and 2021 were used to analyse the changes in LULC *** used the relative deviation(RD),annual change intensity(ACI),uniform intensity(UI)to show the dynamicity of LULC types(agriculture land;built-up land;fallow land;vegetated land;mining area;and water bodies)during *** study also applied the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory(DEMATEL)to measure environmental sensitivity zones and find out the causes of LULC *** to LULC statistics,agriculture land,built-up land,and mining area increased by 51.7,95.46,and 24.79 km^(2),respectively,from 1991 to *** results also suggested that built-up land and mining area had the greatest land surface temperature(LST),whereas water bodies and vegetated land showed the lowest ***,this study looked at the relationships among LST,spectral indices(Normalized Differenced Built-up Index(NDBI),Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),and Normalized Difference Water Index(NDWI)),and environmental *** results showed that all of the spectral indices have the strongest association with LST,indicating that built-up land had a far stronger influence on the *** spectral indices indicated that the decreasing trends of vegetated land and water bodies were 4.26

The Pulmoddai placer sands in Sri Lanka(9°3’23.65’’-8°51’38.83’’N and 80°55’22.91’’-81°3’32.65’’E) is considered to be one of the major rare earth element(REE) prospects world-wide. This deposit has a global significance in terms of strategic economic resources and can provide valuable insight for resource estimation and for its economic use. A detailed study of the geochemical, mineralogical, and textural properties of the heavy minerals of this region is undertaken applying the scanning electron microscopy-electron dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM-EDS), inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy(ICP-OES), X-Ray diffraction(XRD), and X-Ray fluorescence(XRF) techniques. The results from these analyses are modeled to delineate the source(s) which contribute to the formation of the mineral deposits and their subsequent enrichment. The beach sediment from this region, exhibited elevated concentrations of major elements like silicon(Si) and manganese(Mn) and high abundance of minor and trace elements like yttrium(Y), strontium(Sr), lanthanum(La), barium(Ba), which indicates that the provenance is similar to calcium-silicate rocks. The highest(total) concentration of Y, La, scandium(Sc) and cerium(Ce) are mainly associated to fine grained sediment, signifying that their occurrences are governed by the grain size distribution and ambient hydrodynamic conditions primarily from lagoonal input. Monazite, zircon, ilmenite, rutile, and xenotime are more abundant than garnet in the study area, as is evident from the higher abundance of thorium(Th) and uranium(U) and the enrichment of zirconium(Zr), Ce, vanadium(V), chromium(Cr), and Y. Textural analysis of sediment shows sediment particles are poorly sorted and have more angular grain boundaries, indicating their lower textural maturity. This manuscript presents a new fourquadrant analog multiplier using a recently reported current mode active building block, namely the Fully differential second generation current conveyor(FDCCⅡ).The proposed circuit employs single FDCCⅡ and two NMOSFETs only, thus has simple architecture. It is fully-integrable as no other external passive component has been used. Non-ideal behaviour of the reported configuration has been analysed considering current and voltage tracking errors of the FDCCⅡ. Workability of the derived multiplier is verified with PSPICE(Cadence16.6) simulations using model parameter of TSMC 0.35μm CMOS process and found to be in close agreement with theoretical anticipations. The static power consumption of the circuit is 0.107 mW. The circuit works well with good linearity(nonlinearity error ≤ 0.96%) for the input voltage range of ±0.5 V for a supply voltage of ±1 V and the output is insensitive to temperature variation. Simulation results show that the –3 dB bandwidth of the proposed multiplier is 20.67 MHz and the output referred noise√is less than 9 nV/Hz at 1 kΩ load condition. MonteCarlo analysis has also been performed for the proposed configuration. The applicability of the reported multiplier as amplitude modulator, squarer, and frequency doubler are also demonstrated.

The motion of baryonic components of the Milky Way is governed by both luminous and dark matter content of the ***,the dynamics of Milky Way globular clusters(GCs)can be used as tracers to infer the mass model of the Galaxy up to a large *** this work,we apply the directly observable line-of-sight velocities to test if the dynamics of the GC population are consistent with an assumed axisymmetric gravitational potential of the Milky *** this,we numerically compute the phase space distribution of the GC population where the orbits are either oriented randomly or co-/counter-rotating with respect to the stellar *** we compare the observed position and line-of-sight velocity distribution of^150 GCs with those of the *** found that,for the adopted mass model,the co-rotating scenario is the favored model based on various statistical *** do the analysis with and without the GCs associated with the progenitors of early merger *** analysis can be extended in the near future to include precise and copious data to better constrain the Galactic potential up to a large radius.
