The application of omics technologies for understanding tropical plants-based bioactive compounds in ruminants:a review

Finding out how diet impacts health and metabolism while concentrating on the functional qualities and bioactive components of food is the crucial scientific objective of nutritional research. The complex relationship between metabolism and nutrition could be investigated with cutting-edge "omics" and bioinformatics techniques. This review paper provides an overview of the use of omics technologies in nutritional research, with a particular emphasis on the new applications of transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and genomes in functional and biological activity research on ruminant livestock and products in the tropical regions. A wealth of knowledge has been uncovered regarding the regulation and use of numerous physiological and pathological processes by gene, m RNA, protein, and metabolite expressions under various physiological situations and guidelines. In particular, the components of meat and milk were assessed using omics research utilizing the various methods of transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and genomes. The goal of this review is to use omics technologies—which have been steadily gaining popularity as technological tools—to develop new nutritional, genetic, and leadership strategies to improve animal products and their quality control. We also present an overview of the new applications of omics technologies in cattle production and employ nutriomics and foodomics technologies to investigate the microbes in the rumen ecology. Thus, the application of state-of-the-art omics technology may aid in our understanding of how species and/or breeds adapt, and the sustainability of tropical animal production, in the long run, is becoming increasingly important as a means of mitigating the consequences of climate change.

This work deals with the synthesis and physicochemical characterizations of a new group of novel retinoidal ligands and their metal complexes. Their in vitro anti-proliferative activities have shown that ligand L1 is effective against human breast cancer BT-20 and MCF-7 cell lines. At the same time, compound L2 exerts its effect on human prostate cancer PC-3 and human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 cell lines respectively. The retinoid ligands exert their pleiotropic action toward retinoic acid receptors (RARs) than their metal complexes but all compounds exhibit concentration-dependent.

The objective of this research was to elucidate the biological effect of novel compounds derived from natural product of syringaldehyde through novel semi-synthetic method in order to investigate the physicochemical properties and biological activities by using DPPH and FRAP techniques and its antibacterial activities against Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus cereus, and Staphylococcus aureus. Moreover, to examine its ability against breast cancer cell line (MCF-7). The results showed that the syringaldehyde hydrazonate copper complexes possessed the covalent bonds with square-planar structure. In terms of antioxidant DPPH activities, it was found that syringaldehyde hydrazone possessed high potency against DPPH free radicals, with respect to syringaldehyde hydrazonate copper complexes. On the other hand, all compounds possessed low reducing properties for changing Fe3+ to Fe2+ in FRAP technique. For antibacterial activities revealed that the ligand L1 and L5 possessed high effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but for all copper complexes possessed high potent antibacterial susceptibility to four bacteria with concentration dependence. For anti-breast cancer cell line (MCF-7), it was found that all compounds possessed high potent anticancer susceptibility with low IC50, especially, compound exhibit highly potency effective is C5 (IC50 9.75 μM). The tendency of anticancer effect from high to low was C5 > C2 > C1 > C4 > C3. Therefore, all synthetic compounds obtained from the present research possibly develop as the antibacterial drugs and the drugs for curing the diseases caused by free radicals, including breast cancer in metastatic phase. The most important feature of these drugs was the high specificity to the target and harmless to the normal cells.

Biological Investigation of Nano-Organometallic Agents against Bacteria and Chilo polychrysus

Nanotechnology is the new hope, and is hailed as having the potential to increase the efficiency of energy consumption, help clean the environment, and solve major health problems. This research aims to increase the biological activities of natural syringaldehyde. The synthesis of syringaldehyde derivatives and controls the size of the material particles in the nanometer ranges. Nano-organic compounds (L1 - L2) and nano-organometallic compounds (C1 - C4) are used for the study of physicochemical characterization and biological activities. Antioxidant capacities were the DPPH and FRAP techniques, and bacterial abilities against Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp. and Staphylococcus aureus. The syringaldehyde salicylic hydrazone (L2) showed a high scavenging ability to DPPH. Free radical exhibited with IC50 values as low as 51.109 ppm. The ability of antioxidants by FRAP showed that substances are capable of reducing Fe3+ and most of C3, the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria with the lowest MIC and MBC values and the ability to Chilo polychrysus (Meyrick) found that C1 and C2 showed LT50 at 24 h and 48 h (19.00 and 19.33). These particles should develop as biological agents to reduce the use of chemicals that are harmful to humans and the environment.

The primary objectives of this research focused on developing a sustainable tourism model for the Pha Wang Nam Khiao - Pha Khao Phu Luang Forest Reserve in order to sustain forest area and develop local community simultaneously. The sustainable tourism model was created based on site potential, stakeholders＇ opinions, and cost-benefit analysis. The results showed that the destinations were ranked in high potential for tourism development. The majority of tourists paid attention to forest resources education program and sport outdoor activities. Benefit-cost ratio （BCR） equaled to 1.81 and internal rate of return （IRR） equaled to 16.38, showing suitability and worthiness for developing tourism in Wang Nam Khiao forest reserve. Tourism development strategies have been proposed, including：（1） developing facilities and services for conservation and sustainable tourism; （2） personnel training for sustainable development; and （3） tourism marketing for niche market.

Heterokaryotypic monozygotic twins are rare. We report a set of monochorionic diamniotic twins complicated with lethal malformations and hydrops in one fetus at menstrual age of 16 weeks’. Sonographic appearances and genetic am-niocentesis result suggested for 45,X and 46,XY heterokaryotypic twins. Coexisting polyhydramnios found in the sac of severely malformed 45,X fetus threatened miscarriage and premature delivery. To salvage the phenotypically normal male fetus, the hydropic 45,X co-twin was selectively terminated by occlusion of its umbilical cord with bipolar dia-thermy. Complete cessation of funicular flow was achieved, resulting in normalization of total amniotic fluid volume. A healthy 2200-gram baby boy was born at 38 weeks’. His neurodevelopment was intact at 2 years of age. His physical examination was significant for slight growth delay (15 percentiles), with 6% of 45,X mosaicism found in his peripheral blood. Owing to the rarity of the cases, limited data is available regarding an optimal treatment for heterokaryotypic monochorionic twins with discordant lethal malformation. Intrauterine intervention may be offered should demise or permanent disabilities are imminent to the apparently normal fetus.
