The liver has eight segments, which are referred to by numbers or by names. The numbering of the segments is done in a counterclockwise manner with the liver being viewed from the inferior surface, starting from Segment Ⅰ(the caudate lobe). Standard anatomical description of the liver segments is available by computed tomographic scan and ultrasonography. Endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) has been used for a detailed imaging of many intra-abdominal organs and for the assessment of intra-abdominal vasculature. A stepwise evaluation of the liver segments by EUS has not been described. In this article, we have described a stepwise evaluation of the liver segments by EUS. This information can be useful for planning successful radical surgeries, preparing for biopsy, portal vein embolization, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt, tumour resection or partial hepatectomy, and for planning EUS guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

This paper studies the effect high performance pipelined GF(2256) bit-serial multiplier on elliptic curve point operations. A 3-stage pipelined version of the Massy-Omura GF(2m) normal basis multiplier for 160 m 256 was studied in terms of area overhead and throughput improvement. Simple gate area and delay models were used to estimate the throughput of the pipelined and the non-pipelined multipliers. The proposed pipelined architecture has been shown to have a significant improvement in throughput allowing a single 3-stage pipelined multiplier to have higher throughput than an architecture employing three parallel non-pipelined multipliers. The AT2 performance metric has shown an even more significant improvement.

This paper presents a study of software implementations of ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) over binary and prime fields in WSN (Wireless Sensor Networks). An analytical study of the underlying finite field, representation basis, and performance of these implementations is conducted. The study shows that the fastest prime field implementation, among all reported ones that use 160-bit on 8-bit, took 0.57 s. As for the implementations over binary field, the study demonstrates that the majority of these implementations are carried out using polynomial basis representation, expect for one implementation that uses normal basis representation. Where the fastest binary field implementation, among all reported ones that use 163-bit on 8-bit, took 0.67 s.

Preliminary results of our study related to simultaneous waste water purification by photocatalytic degradation of organic impurity (Methylene Blue dye) and its effects on seed germination are presented here. It is interesting and important to know that complete degradation of the dye occurs within 2 hours and does not adversely affect the seed germination process. It is concluded that waste water purification by photocatalysis and seed germination (agriculture) can be carried out simultaneously, opening a way for advanced agriculture.

Nanoparticles of Fe3O4 and Fe are chemically synthesized by reduction of Fe(acac)3 using ascorbic acid in controlled condition. It was observed that addition of water during the chemical synthesis process yields Fe3O4 nanoparticles, whereas if the reaction is carried out in absence of water yields Fe nanoparticles—which get oxidized upon exposure to air atmosphere. Fe3O4 (15 ± 5 nm) and Fe/iron oxide nanoparticles (7 ± 1 nm) were successfully synthesized in the comparative study reported herewith. Mechanism for formation/synthesis of Fe3O4 and Fe/iron oxide nanoparticles is proposed herewith in which added water acts as an oxygen supplier. Physico-chemical characterization done by SEM, TEM, EDAX, and XPS supports the proposed mechanism.

To provide data for improved modelling of the behaviour of steel components in a simultaneous forming and quenching process, the effects of plastic deformation and stresses on dilatation during the martensitic transformation in a B-bearing steel were investigated. It was found that plastic deformation of austenite at high temperatures enhances ferrite formation significantly, and consequently, the dilatation decreases markedly even at a cooling rate of 280’C/s. The created ferritic-martensitic microstructure possesses clearly lower hardness and strength than the martensitic structure. Elastic stresses cause the preferred orientation in martensite to be formed so that diametric dilatation can increase by nearly 200% under axial compression.

Urolithaisis is becoming an ever increasing urological,nephrological and primary care problem.With a lifetime prevalence approaching 10% and increasing morbidity due to stone disease,the role of ureteroscopy and stone removal is becoming more important.We discuss the current status of stone disease and review the ever increasing role that ureteroscopy has to play in its management.We discuss technological advances that have been made in stone management and give you an overview of when,how and why ureteroscopy is the most common treatment option for stone management.We touch on the role of robotic ureteroscopy and the future of ureteroscopy in the next 10 years.
