In-situ study of the microstructure evolution during tension of a Mg-Y-Zn-Al alloy processed by rapidly solidified ribbon consolidation technique

Mg-Y-Zn-Al alloys processed by rapidly solidified ribbon consolidation(RSRC)technique exhibit an exceptional mechanical performance indicating promising application *** material has a bimodal microstructure consisting of fine recrystallized and coarse non-recrystallized grains with solute-rich stacking faults forming cluster arranged layers(CALs)and nanoplates(CAnaPs),or complete long period stacking ordered(LPSO)*** order to reveal the deformation mechanisms,in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction line profile analysis was employed for a detailed study of the dislocation arrangement created during tension in Mg-0.9%Zn-2.05%Y-0.15%Al(at%)*** uncovering the effect of the initial microstructure on the mechanical performance,additional samples were obtained by annealing of the as-consolidated specimen at 300 and 400℃ for 2 *** heat treatment at 300℃ had no sign.f.cant effect on the initial microstructure,its evolution during tension and,thus,the overall deformation behavior under tensile *** the other hand,annealing at 400℃ resulted in a sign.f.cant increase of the recrystallized grains fraction and a decrease of the dislocation density,leading to only minor degradation of the mechanical *** maximum dislocation density at the failure of the samples corresponding to the plastic strain of 10-25% was estimated to be about 16-20×10^(14)m^(-2).The diffraction profile analysis indicated that most dislocations formed during tension were of non-basal and pyramidal types,what was also in agreement with the Schmid factor values revealed independently from orientation *** was also shown that the dislocation-induced Taylor hardening was much lower below the plastic strain of 3% than above this value,which was explained by a model of the interaction between prismatic dislocations and CAnaPs/LPSO plates.

The research presented in this paper discusses the impact that the parameters of charge(Q)and screening factor(γ)have on properties of the horizon and silhouette of rotating charged Mod Max black holes which were reviewed in[***.J.C(2022)82:1155]recently,building upon previous findings in the ***,the study explores the behavior of null geodesics,which can help us better understand the apparent shape of the black hole’s silhouette,as well as the distortion parameter and approximate radii of the silhouette that are influenced by the aforementioned parameters,and there are some values of parameter Q which corresponds to data from the Event Horizon Telescope(EHT).notably,we explore the distortion parameter and approximate radii of the silhouette,revealing that while an increase inγleads to a growth in silhouette radius(Rs),it simultaneously reduces the distortion rate(δs).Conversely,heightened Q charge results in a reduction of Rsaccompanied by an increase inδ***,the paper analyzes the effects of the black hole’s parameters on the effective potential and energy emission:the peak value of the energy emission rate experiences a decrease as the screening factor(γ)increases,while it increases with higher values of the charge parameter(Q).

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites have gained great attention as promising photocatalysts for hydrogen ***,due to their poor stability in water,the use of aqueous hydrohalic acid solutions is specifically required for an efficient hydrogen ***,three novel photoactive lead-free hybrid perovskites based on bismuth and triazolium cations(denoted as IEf-15,IEf-16,and IEf-17(IEf stands for IMDEA energy frameworks))were synthesized and fully characterized(structural,compositional,optical,etc.).further,these solids were proposed as photocatalysts for the challenging gas phase overall water splitting(OWS)***,IEf-16 thin.f.lms exhibited a remarkable photocatalytic activity in both H_(2) and O_(2) evolution,as a consequence of its appropriate bandgap and energy-band alignment,achieving hydrogen evolution rates ofμmol·g_(H_(2))^(-)1846 and 360 after 24 h under ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)irradiation or simulated solar irradiation,*** study additionally highlights the remarkable structural and photochemical stability of IEf-16 under different operational conditions(*** volume,irradiation and temperature),paving the way for green hydrogen production.f.om OWS using perovskite-based photocatalysts.

Localized-states quantum confinement induced by roughness in CdMnTe/CdTe heterostructures grown on Si(111) substrates

This work shows that despite a lattice mismatch of almost 20%, CdMnTe/CdTe/CdMnTe heterostructures grown directly on Si(111) have surprisingly good optical emission properties. The investigated structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy, macro-and micro-photoluminescence. Low temperature macro-photoluminescence experiments indicate three emission bands which depend on the CdTe layer thickness and have different confinement characteristics. Temperature measurements reveal that the lower energy emission band (at 1.48 eV)is associated to defects and bound exciton states, while the main emission at 1.61 eV has a weak 2D character and the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-defined (zero-dimensional, 0D) 0D nature. Micro-photoluminescence measurements show the existence of sharp and strongly circularly polarized (up to 40%) emission lines which can be related to the presence of Mn in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of producing photon sources with the typical spin control of the diluted magnetic semiconductors using the low-cost silicon technology.

Water-soluble copolymers of p-methacrylamidobenzoic acid(MABA)with neutral comonomers(n-vinylpyrrolidone(VP),n-methyl-n-vinylacetamide(MVAA),n-methacryloyl glucosamine(MAG))and anionic comononer sodium styrene sulfonate(naSS)were synthesized by radical *** interactions between the prepared copolymers and Tb^(3+)ions in aqueous solutions were studied;the sign.f.cant influence of chemical structure of a comonomer on luminescence intensity of Tb^(3+)complexes with the copolymers was *** luminescence intensity of Tb^(3+)complexes with the copolymers containing n-vinylamide units(VP,MVAA)is three times more intense than that observed for the complexes between Tb^(3+)and MAG-containing *** the case of naSS-containing copolymers,the luminescence intensity is controlled by the values of binding constants between Tb^(3+)and MABA and the content of MABA units in a *** studied copolymers and their complexes with Tb^(3+)have low cytotoxicity and a pronounced antiviral activity against human respiratory syncytial virus.
