AIM:To investigate the pr.valence of visual impair.ent(VI)and pr.vide an estimation of uncor.ected r.fr.ctive er.or. in school-aged childr.n,conducted by optometr. students as a community ***:The study was *** 3343 par.icipants wer. included in the *** initial examination involved assessing the uncor.ected distance visual acuity(UDVA)and visual acuity(VA)while using a+2.00 D *** inclusion cr.ter.a for.a subsequent compr.hensive cycloplegic eye examination,per.or.ed by an optometr.st,wer. as follows:a UDVAr.and/or.a VA with+2.00 D≥0.8 decimal(0.96 logMAr..r.SULTS:The sample had a mean age of 10.92±2.13y(r.nge 4 to 17y),and 51.3%of the childr.n wer. female(n=1715).The major.ty of the childr.n(89.7%)fell within the age r.nge of 8 to *** the ethnic gr.ups,the highest r.pr.sentation was fr.m the Luhya gr.up(60.6%)followed by Luo(20.4%).Mean logMAr.UDVA choosing the best eye for.each student was 0.29±0.17(r.nge 1.70 to 0.22).Out of the total,246 par.icipants(7.4%)had a full eye *** estimated pr.valence of myopia(defined as spher.cal equivalent≤-0.5 D)was found to be 1.45%of the total *** ar.und 0.18%of the total sample had hyper.pia value exceeding+1.75 *** astigmatism(cilr.valence was 1.26%of the total *** our.cases of VI,76.2%could be attr.buted to uncor.ected r.fr.ctive *** was detected in 0.66%(22/3343)of the scr.ened *** was no statistically significant cor.elation obser.ed between age or.gender.and r.fr.ctive ***:The pr.mar. cause of VI is deter.ined to be uncor.ected r.fr.ctive er.or.,with myopia being the most pr.valent r.fr.ctive er.or.*** findings under.cor. the significance of ear.y identification and cor.ection of r.fr.ctive er.or. in school-aged childr.n as a means to alleviate the impact of VI.

Aims: To clar.fy the mechanisms of electr.car.iogr.phic abnor.alities in hyper.r.phic car.iomyopathy, 102 patients wer. examined with car.iac magnetic r.sonance. Distr.bution and magnitude of hyper.r.phy and late-enhancement wer. cor.elated with electr.car.iogr.phic abnor.alities. Methods and r.sults: Abnor.al Q waves wer. associated with gr.ater.upper.anter.or.septal thickness(22±7 mm vs. 18±5 mm, P=0.001) and incr.ased r.tios of upper.anter.or.septum to mean infer.later.l(P=0.01), anter.later.l(P=0.002), apical(P=0.001), and r.ght ventr.cular.P=0.001) wall thickness. Ther. was no r.lation between abnor.al Q waves and late-enhancement, except for.Q waves ≥40 ms(P=0.02). Conduction distur.ances and absent septal Q waves wer. associated with late-enhancement(89 vs. 45%, P=0.01 and 75 vs. 39%, P=0.002, r.spectively). The depth of negative T waves was r.lated to an incr.ased r.tio of the mean thickness between apical and basal level(P=0.01), and to the pr.sence of apical late-enhancement(P=0.03). Conclusion: Abnor.al Q waves r.flect the inter.elation between upper.anter.or.septal thickness and other.r.gions of the left and r.ght ventr.cles, and wider.Q waves ar. associated with late-enhancement. Conduction distur.ances and absent septal Q waves ar. associated with late-enhancement. The depth of negative T waves is r.lated to cr.niocaudal asymmetr. and apical late-enhancement.

Motivated by the desir. to impr.ve our.under.tanding of the Weak Gr.vity Conjectur., we compute the one-loop cor.ection of char.ed par.icles to the geometr. and entr.py of extr.mal black holes in 4D. We use the entr.py function for.alism to extend pr.vious analysis that dealt with neutr.l par.icles, and obtain the cor.ections to the hor.zon entr.py for.differ.nt r.gimes of black hole masses. These cor.ections ar. small in gener.l. They ar. fur.her.or. r.duced when super.ymmetr. is pr.sent, and disappear.in N = 4 super.r.vity. We pr.vide some speculative ar.uments that in a theor. with only sub-extr.mal par.icles, classical r.issner.Nor.str.m black holes actually possess an infinite micr.canonical entr.py, though only a finite amount is visible to an exter.al obser.er. as shown by the hor.zon entr.py computation.

AIM：To evaluate the distr.bution of r.fr.ctive er.or.in young subjects in a r.r.l ar.a of Par.guay in the context of an inter.ational cooper.tion campaign for.the pr.vention of blindness. METHODS：A sample of 1466 young subjects（r.nging fr.m 3 to 22 year. old）,with a mean age of 11.21±3.63 year. old,wer. examined to assess their.distance visual acuity（VA）and r.fr.ctive er.or. The fir.t scr.ening examination per.or.ed by tr.ined volunteer.,included visual acuity testing,autoker.tometr. and non-cycloplegic autor.fr.ction. Inclusion cr.ter.a for.a second complete cycloplegic eye examination by an optometr.st wer. VA 〈20/25（0.10 log MAr.or.0.8 decimal）and/or.cor.eal astigmatism ≥1.50 D. r.SULTS：An uncor.ected distance VA of 0 log MAr.1.0decimal）was found in 89.2% of childr.n. VA 〈20/25 and/or.cor.eal astigmatism ≥1.50 D was found in 3.9% of childr.n（n=57）,with a pr.valence of hyper.pia of 5.2%（0.2%of the total）in this specific gr.up. Fur.her.or.,myopia（spher.cal equivalent ≤-0.5 D）was found in 37.7% of the r.fr.cted childr.n（0.5% of the total）. The pr.valence of r.fr.ctive astigmatism（cylinder.≤-1.50 D）was 15.8%（0.6% of the total）. Visual impair.ent（VI）（0.05≤VA≤0.3）was found in 12/114（0.4%）of the r.fr.cted eyes. Main causes for.VI wer. r.fr.ctive er.or.58%）,r.tinal pr.blems（17%,2/12）,albinism（17%,2/12）and unknown（8%,1/12）.CONCLUSION：A low pr.valence of r.fr.ctive er.or.has been found in this r.r.l ar.a of Par.guay,with higher.pr.valence of myopia than of hyper.pia.
