Effect of Uncertainty of Soil Influence on Shallow Foundations

One of the most important challenges in the design of the foundation of the Earth layer below the surface, the Summit Foundation, which can be a very large impact on the sustainability and the structure of the desired user. Based on this analysis and design criteria of two successive ruptures (load bearing) and settlement. The design of foundation is usually the amount of designated critical foundation than the amount of force that sought the ability to transfer to the soil below. Due to the nature of non-homogeneous soil and its parameters uncertainty, relying on one number as the amount of foundation settlement doesn’t seem logical. This is while in the methods of the probability distribution function by taking the probability for each of the input parameters, or the characteristics of each parameter, the parameter values are likely to have the chance of occurrence. In this research, effort is made using the method of probabilistic Monte Carlo simulation, the effect of the uncertainty of parameters influencing the mechanical behaviour following the successive layers of earth and examined. This method is a kind of simulation is that the uncertainty in the different aspects of the issue to be obvious and a bit of the show. Monte Carlo simulation method for the determination of model uncertainty, a little bit for each of the input random variables is a function of the probability distribution which is considered. For this purpose, the parameters of the effect of the transition on the analysis of soil modulus of elasticity of foundation, such as settlement and the coefficient of Poisson ratio distribution in probability using probabilistic log-normal and normal have been considered. With the advances in artificial intelligence(AI),data‐driven algorithms are becoming increasingly popular in the medical ***,due to the nonlinear and complex behavior of many of these algorithms,decision‐making by such algorithms is not trustworthy for clinicians and is considered a blackbox ***,the scientific community has introduced explainable artificial intelligence(XAI)to remedy the *** systematic scoping review investigates the application of XAI in breast cancer detection and risk *** conducted a comprehensive search on Scopus,IeeE Explore,PubMed,and Google Scholar(first 50 citations)using a systematic search *** search spanned from January 2017 to July 2023,focusing on peer‐reviewed studies implementing XAI methods in breast cancer *** studies met our inclusion criteria and were included in the *** results revealed that SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)is the top model‐agnostic XAI technique in breast cancer research in terms of usage,explaining the model prediction results,diagnosis and classification of biomarkers,and prognosis and survival ***,the SHAP model primarily explained tree‐based ensemble machine learning *** most common reason is that SHAP is model agnostic,which makes it both popular and useful for explaining any model ***,it is relatively easy to implement effectively and completely suits performant models,such as tree‐based *** AI improves the transparency,interpretability,fairness,and trustworthiness of AI‐enabled health systems and medical devices and,ultimately,the quality of care and outcomes.

Recrystallization and mechanical properties of WE43 magnesium alloy processed via cyclic expansion extrusion

In this study, cyclic expansion extrusion（Cee）, as a relatively new severe plastic deformation（SPD） process, is applied to a rare earth（RE） containing Mg alloy WE43. The effects of the processing temperature and the number of passes are also investigated. The results showed that dynamic recrystallization（DRX） occurred after Cee processing at 400°C, and a bimodal structure with ultrafine DRXed grains surrounded the unrecrystallized grains. However, the DRX at 330°C was retarded because of the existence of RE elements. The tensile tests showed that a simultaneous increase in the strength and the ductility of WE43 is obtained after Cee processing at 400°C via two passes. Furthermore, the highest ultimate tensile strength of 440 MPa was achieved after the second pass of Cee at 330°C, and the highest ductility of 21% was attained after the second pass of Cee at 400°C. The microhardness measurements showed that the hardness increased from HV 80 to HV 114 and HV 98 after two passes of Cee processing at 330 and 400°C, respectively. In conclusion, increasing the processing passes could increase the mechanical properties and the volume fraction of the recrystallized grains. Moreover, increasing the temperature reduced the strength and the microhardness even if the elongation increased.

Analysis of shock wave reflection from fixed and moving boundaries using a stabilized particle method

In the present paper, the efficiency of an enhanced formulation of the stabilized corrective smoothed particle method （CSPM） for simulation of shock wave propagation and reflection from fixed and moving solid boundaries in compressible fluids is investigated. The Lagrangian nature and its accuracy for imposing the boundary conditions are the two main reasons for adoption of CSPM. The governing equations are further modified for imposition of moving solid boundary conditions. In addition to the traditional artificial viscosity, which can remove numerically induced abnormal jumps in the field values, a velocity field smoothing technique is introduced as an efficient method for stabilizing the solution. The method has been implemented for one- and two-dimensional shock wave propagation and reflection from fixed and moving boundaries and the results have been compared with other available solutions. The method has also been adopted for simulation of shock wave propagation and reflection from infinite and finite solid boundaries.

Advanced optimization of gas turbine aero-engine transient performance using linkage-learning genetic algorithm:PartⅡ,optimization in flight mission and controller gains correlation development

Maximum entropy based finite element analysis of porous media

The maximum entropy theory has been used in a wide variety of physical, mathematical and engineering applications in the past few years. However, its application in numerical methods, especially in developing new shape functions, has attracted much interest in recent years. These shape functions possess the potential for performing better than the conventional basis functions in problems with randomly generated coarse meshes. In this paper, the maximum entropy theory is adopted to spatially discretize the defonnation variable of the governing coupled equations of porous media. This is in line with the well-known fact that higher-order shape functions can provide more stable solutions in porous problems. Some of the benchmark problems in deformable porous media are solved with the developed approach and the results are compared with available references.
