A contrasting analysis of CO_(2) and N_(2) foam flood for enhanced oil recovery and geological storage of CO_(2)

Foam flooding using CO_(2)has emerged as a promising method for both enhanced oil recovery(EOR)and the storage of CO_(2)in geological *** study conducts a thorough analysis of the behavior of CO_(2)and N_(2)foams in bulk and porous media,utilizing bubble-scale analyses and foam flooding *** study compares the foamability and longevity of CO_(2)and N_(2)foams,with findings indicating that N_(2)foam bubbles tend to be smaller and less varied in size than CO_(2)foam bubbles,leading to increased foam ***,the study compares the half-lives of CO_(2)and N_(2)foams generated through sparging and winding methods,showing that N_(2)foam has half-lives 22 and 10 times greater than CO_(2)foam when produced using the sparging and winding methods,***,CO_(2)foam generated through the sparging method had a lower foaming volume than N_(2)foam due to CO_(2)'s *** the foam flooding experiments,N_(2)foam proved more effective in recovering oil from porous media than CO_(2)foam,thus demonstrating the effectiveness of the foam injection *** results offer valuable insights into the differing performance of N_(2)and CO_(2)foam floods for EOR and CO_(2)geological storage.

Experimental study on nanoparticles-assisted low-salinity water for enhanced oil recovery in asphaltenic oil reservoirs

The purpose of this research is to look into the augmentation of silica nanoparticles(NPs)with low salinity(LowSal)brine for EOR.A series of analyses,including oil/water interfacial tension(IFT)and rock wettability tests were undertaken to determine an optimal dispersion to flood into a porous carbonate core with a defined pore size *** 60℃and 14.5 psi,the maximum drop(i.e.,roughly 12.5 mN/m)in oil/water IFT by 0.3 wt%brine occurred,but when 0.08 wt%silica was added to the brine,the IFT reduced to 14.51 mN/m at 60℃and 14.5 *** wettability analysis revealed a significant reduction in contact angle,from 142°to 72°and 59°,using 0.04 and 0.08 wt%silica in LowSal brine,but the extent reduced by brine alone was *** results of rock pore size characterization were discussed in terms of the accomplishment of operating EOR in the porous medium in the presence of *** addition of 0.08 wt%silica to the injected brine resulted in an additional oil recovery of 16.3%OOIP as well as a significant shift in the endpoints/cross-points of the oil/water relative permeability *** findings of this research might help improve oil recovery from asphaltenic oil reservoirs or,more environmentally friendly,remediate petroleum crude-oil polluted soil.

Influence of Heat Input in Pulsed Current GTAW Process on Microstructure and Corrosion Resistance of Duplex Stainless Steel Welds

The high corrosion resistance of duplex stainless steel （DSS） is due to elements such as Cr, Mo and N, hut also depends on the microstructure. The best general properties are obtained with approximately equal amounts of austenite and ferrite and the absence of third phases such as σ（sigma） and Cr2N. In the present work the effect of heat input variations on the microstructure and corrosion resistance of a DSS UNS S32760 in artificial sea water media were studied. The corrosion resistance in 3.5 % of NaCl solution was evaluated by potentiostatic polarization tests at room temperature. It is found that the presence of sigma phase and Cr2N decreases the corrosion potential. The specimen with heat input of approximately 0.95 kJ/mm have the best corrosion characteristics, which is the result for the lack of deleterious phases such as sigma and Cr2 N and balanced ferrite austenite proportion.

Influnce of Stoichiometry and Molar Ratio of Barium Ferrite Thin Film Synthesized by Sol-gel on Alumina Substrate

Amorphous gels were processed with a varying Fe/Ba ratio of 11/5, 28/2, 10.5/1 in water and Solvent. Iron and barium nitrites with specific molar ratio was solved in water and slovent at 60°C for 3 hours until! a dark brown solution was prepared . The sols were introduced to substrate dropwise and spinning with 2000 rpm in 3 min was applied ; the work was repeated for 10 times and the samples were dried and sintered . The TGA analysis was used to identify the heating rate of the samples; at temperature of 1150°c for one hour the final phase was attained . the thickness , uniformity , morphology and the composition were examined by SEM and XRD. The study shows that the fabrication barium ferrite film of the molar ratio of Fe/Ba = 10.5/1 is much more suitable than other ratios .

Background:Sleep disorders after heart surgery lead to increased heart rate,myocardial oxygen demand,and cause dysrhythmia that worsens heart *** purpose of this study was to determine the effect of head and facial massage on sleep conditions following coronary artery bypass graft *** and methods:A randomized controlled trial was performed on 72 *** were randomly divided into interventional(n=36)and control groups(n=36).On the third to fifth day after the operation,head and the facial massage were done for 15 min in the intervention *** patients in the control group received only routine *** Campbell’s Sleep Questionnaire was completed for four consecutive days for each *** were analyzed in SPSS ***:Mean scores for sleep conditions before the intervention no statistically significant difference seen between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,there was a statistically significant difference between mean scores for sleep conditions of the interventional and control groups(Pnditions between two *** revealed sleep condition total score in the intervention group was more than the control group and the trend of changes over time was statistically significant(Pnd facial massage is an effective nursing intervention in improving the sleep condition of patients after coronary artery bypass *** to the fact that head and face massage is an easy method and brings patient satisfaction,it is recommended to use this method as a suitable supplement for drug therapy and postoperative interventions in these patients.

Co Complexes as a Corrosion Inhibitor for 316 L Stainless Steel in H₂SO₄ Solution

The effect of Co complexes with a Schiff base ligand on the electrochemical corrosion behavior of 316 L SS in 0.1 M H2SO4 at 25℃ has been investigated at various inhibitor concentration using electrochemical techniques (impedance spectroscopy (EIS), polarization curves). Corrosion measurements indicate that Co complex act as moderately inhibitors. Results revealed that increasing the concentration of Co complex increases the corresponding IE% values till 100 ppm. Co complex acts as mixed type inhibitors with predominant effect on the anodic dissolution of iron. Adsorption studies showed that the process follows Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
