Attention deficit and hyperactivity diso.der（ADHD） is a diso.der characterized by behavioral symptoms including hyperactivity/impulsivity among children,adolescents,and *** ADHD related symptoms are influenced by the complex interaction of brain networks which were under *** explored age-related brain network differences between ADHD patients and typically developing（TD） subjects using resting state f MRI（rs-f MRI） for three age groups of children,adolescents,and *** collected rs-f MRI data from 184 individuals（27 ADHD children and 31 TD children;32 ADHD adolescents and 32 TD adolescents;and 31 ADHD adults and 31 TD adults）.The Brainnetome Atlas was used to define nodes in the network *** compared three age groups of ADHD and TD subjects to identify the distinct regions that could explain age-related brain network differences based on degree centrality,a well-known measure of nodal *** left middle temporal gyrus showed significant interaction effects between disease status（i.e.,ADHD or TD） and age（i.e.,child,adolescent,or adult）（P 0.001）.Additional regions were identified at a relaxed threshold（P 0.05）.Many of the identified regions（the left inferior frontal gyrus,the left middle temporal gyrus,and the left insular gyrus） were related to cognitive *** results of our study suggest that aberrant development in cognitive brain regions might be asso.iated with age-related brain network changes in ADHD *** findings contribute to better understand how brain function influences the symptoms of ADHD.

Effects of casting speed on microstructure and segregation of electromagnetically stirred Aluminum alloy in continuous casting process

Recently, a semi-so.id metal processing has been acknowledged as a cost-effective technique to be able to manufacture high quality product for the transportation industry. In this study a hypo-eutectic Al alloy was fabricated by means of an electromagnetic stirrer in continuous casting process and the microstructural change during so.idification due to a fluid flow by electromagnetic stirring was examined. Due to the forced fluid flow during so.idification a dendritic phase of primary α phase of Al alloy was turned into a globular phase, which can make the Al alloy get a thixotropic behavior in the semi-so.id region. In order to establish the quantitative relationship between microstructure and the process parameters, the morphology shape, a silicon distribution and a size of primary α phase were observed according to casting speed in continuous casting machine. The primary α phase was turned into the degenerate dendrites approaching a spherical configuration with increasing casting speed. The fine-grained and equiaxed microstructure appeared at higher casting speed. A segregation behavior of Si element was declined with increasing casting speed and a very uniform distribution of Si element was observed on the billet at a casting speed of 600 mm·min-1. A thickness of the so.idifying shell of the billet was shortened with increasing the casting speed.

Distribution of dinoflagellate cysts in Yellow Sea sediments

To investigate the distribution, abundance, and species composition of dinoflagellate cysts in the Yellow Sea, surface sediment samples were collected at 37 sites, including the Korean dump site. Twenty-one di- noflagellate cyst taxa were identified, with the assemblages dominated mainly by Spiniferites bulloideus, Operculodinium centrocarpum, and cyst of Alexandrium catenella/tarnarense type. A high frequency of O. centrocarpum in the Yellow Sea was observed for the first time, and it is likely that this can be attributed to the dynamics of the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass and the Changjiang （Yangtze） River runoff. Total cyst concentrations ranged from 23 to 48 442 cysts/g dry weight, and high cyst concentrations were recorded adjacent to the dumping site. This result suggests that anthropogenic activities such as ocean dumping s- timulate the growth of dinoflagellates in the Yellow Sea, which in turn leads to high levels of dinoflagellate cyst production.

Application of Integrated Database to the Casting Design

Construction of integrated database including casting shapes with their casting design, technical knowledge, and thermophysical properties of the casting alloys were introduced in the present study. Recognition tech- nique for casting design by industrial computer tomography was used for the construction of shape database. Technical knowledge of the casting processes such as ferrous and non-ferrous alloys and their manufacturing process of the castings were accumulated and the search engine for the knowledge was developed. Database of thermophysical properties of the casting alloys were obtained via the experimental study, and the properties were used for the in-house computer simulation of casting process. The databases were linked with intelligent casting expert system developed in center for e-design, KITECH. It is expected that the databases can help non casting experts to devise the casting and its process. Various examples of the application by using the databases were shown in the present study.

Clinical characteristics of asymptomatic Terso. syndrome in the patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage

●AIM:To investigate clinical characteristics of asymptomatic Terso. syndrome and its clinical impact in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH).●METhoDS:This retrospective,interventional study included 31 patients with aneurysmal SAH,and the medical records were *** addition to baseline characteristics of the study population such as age,sex,and underlying medical history,multi-modal imaging analysis,including fluorescein angiography(FA),spectral domain optical coherence tomography(SD-OCT),were also.*** Coma Scale(GCS),Hunt-Hess(HH)grade,and Fisher scale at the time of admission,and functional outcome by using modified Rankin Scale(mRS)at 6 mo were compared.●RESULTS:Of the 31 patients,10 patients(32.3%)were diagnosed with Terso. *** the patients with Terso. syndrome did not report visual symptoms at the time of ophthalmologic *** showed microvascular changes of retinal capillaries and varying degrees of disc ***-OCT allowed intuitive anatomical localization of multi-layered retinal hemorrhages and assessment of ellipso.d zone *** patients with Terso. syndrome showed significantly worse GCS(P=0.047)and HH grade(P=0.025)than those without,except Ficher scale(P=0.385).There was no significant difference in the mRS(P=0.250)at 6 *** baseline factors,the HH grade was the only significant factor asso.iated with Terso. syndrome(B=1.079,P=0.016).●CONCLUSION:In our study,32.3%of the patients have Terso. syndrome without visual *** baseline HH grade is significantly correlated with Terso. syndrome,and there is no significant difference in the functional outcome between the patients with and without Terso. *** syndrome may develop without any visual symptoms as shown in our study,and ophthalmologic screening may be recommended to prevent further visual deterioration especially in the patients with poor HH grade at the time of aneurysmal SAH.

Few long-term follow-up studies have compared the changes in renal function according to the type of statin used in *** compared the long-term effects of statin intensity and type on the changes in the glomerular filtration rate(GFR).We extracted data of patients who took statin for the first *** analyzed whether or not different statins affect the changes in GFR at 3 months after baseline and 4 years *** included 3678 patients and analyzed the changes in *** GFR decreased by 3.2%±0.4%on average 4 years after the first statin prescription,indicating statistically significant deterioration(from 83.5±0.4 mL/min/1.73 m2 to 79.9±0.4 mL/min/1.73 m2,P<0.001).When comparing the GFR among different statins,significant differences were observed between atorvastatin and fluvastatin(−5.3%±0.7%vs.1.2%±2.2%,P<0.05)and between atorvastatin and simvastatin(−5.3%±0.7%vs.−0.7%±0.8%,P<0.05).In pitavastatin(odds ratio[OR]=0.64,95%confidence interval[CI]=0.46-0.87,P<0.005)and simvastatin(OR=0.69,95%CI=0.53-0.91,P<0.008),the GFR rate that decreased by<60 mL/min/1.73 m2 was significantly lower than that of *** long-term statin intake,GFR changed with the type of *** work is the first in Korea to compare each statin in terms of changes in the GFR after the statin prescription.
