Objective:The purpose of the study was to identify the best sequence of therapy beginning with a tyrosine kinase inhibitor(TKI)as the first-line therapy for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma(mRCC)in terms of overall survival(OS),progression-free survival(PFS),and rates of discontinuation and adverse effects during the treatment ***:This is a retrospective,nationwide multicenter study of patients with mRCC after diagnosis at 10 different tertiary medical centers in Korea from January 1992 to December *** focused on patients at either“favorable”or“intermediate”risk according to the International mRCC Database Consortium criteria,and they were followed up(median 335 days).Finally,a total of 1409 patients were selected as the study *** generated a Cox proportional hazard model adjusted for covariates,and the different therapy schemes were statistically tested in terms of OS as well as *** addition,frequencies of discontinuation and adverse events were compared among the therapy ***:Of the primary patterns of treatment sequences(24 sequences),“sunitinib epazopanib”and“sunitinibeeverolimuseimmunotherapy”showed the most beneficial results in both OS and PFS with significantly lower hazards than“sunitinib”,which is the most commonly treated agent in *** that the“TKIeTKI”structure showed relatively higher discontinuation rates with higher adverse effects,the overall beneficial sequence would be“sunitinibeeverolimuseimmunotherapy”.Conclusion:Among several sequential therapy starting with TKIs,“sunitinibeeverolimuse immunotherapy”was found to be the best scheme for mRCC patients with“favorable”or“intermediate”risks.

The functionalities and diverse metastable phases of multiferroic BiFeO3（BFO） thin films depend on the misfit *** mixed phase-induced strain relaxation in multiphase BFO thin films is well known,it is unclear whether a singlecrystalline BFO thin film can accommodate misfit strain without the involvement of its ***,understanding the strain relaxation behavior is key to elucidating the lattice strain-property *** this study,a correlative strain analysis based on dark-field inline electron holography（DIH） and quantitative scanning transmission electron microscopy（STEM） was performed to reveal the structural mechanism for strain accommodation of a single-crystalline BFO thin *** nanoscale DIH strain analysis results indicated a random combination of multiple strain states that acted as a primary strain relief,forming irregularly strained *** STEM-based bond length measurement of the corresponding strained nanodomains revealed a unique strain accommodation behavior achieved by a statistical combination of multiple modes of distorted structures on the unit-cell *** globally integrated strain for each nanodomain was estimated to be close to-1.5%,irrespective of the nanoscale strain states,which was consistent with the fully strained BFO film on the *** functional theory calculations suggested that strain accommodation by the combination of metastable phases was energetically favored compared to single-phase-mediated *** discovery allows a comprehensive understanding of strain accommodation behavior in ferroelectric oxide films,such as BFO,with various low-symmetry polymorphs.

Effect of extrusion ratios on hardness,microstructure,and crystal texture anisotropy in pure niobium tubes subjected to hydrostatic extrusion

Nb tubes were fabricated through hydrostatic extrusion at extrusion ratios of 3.1 and 6.1 at ambient temperature,and then their microstructure,texture,and Vickers hardness were investigated based on electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD)*** fraction of low-angle boundaries(LABs)largely decreased with a sharp decrease in mean grain sizes after hydrostatic extrusion and was not proportional to extrusion ratios,assuming that mixed-asymmetrical junctions forming LABs dissociate at high extrusion ratios from the external stress(>981 MPa)with thermal activation by the generated *** correlation between grain size and Vickers hardness followed the Hall−Petch relationship despite the texture gradient of theá111ñcyclic fiber textural microstructure at low extrusion ratios and theá100ñtrue fiber textural microstructure at high extrusion *** increase in hydrostatic pressure on the Nb tubes contributed to texture evolution in terms of extrusion ratios due to the difference between{110}and{112}components based on EBSD data.

Reciprocal inhibition of expression between RAV1 and BES1 modulates plant growth and development in Arabidopsis

RAV1(Related to ABI3/VP1)is a plant-specific B3 and AP2 domain-containing transcription factor that acts as a negative regulator of growth in many plant *** expression of RAV1 is downregulated by brassinosteroids(BRs);large-scale transcriptome analyses have shown that the expression of RAV1 was previously targeted by BRI1-EMS-SUPPREsoR1(BES1)and BRASSINAZOLE-RESISTANT1(BZR1),which are critical transcription factors for the BR-signaling *** RAV1-overexpressing transgenic plants,we showed that RAV1 overexpression reduced the BR signaling capacity,resulting in the downregulation of BR biosynthetic genes and BES1 ***,we demonstrated that BES1,not BZR1,is directly bound to the RAV1 promoter and repressed RAV1 expression,and vice versa;RAV1 is also bound to the BES1 promoter and repressed BES1 *** mutual inhibition was specific to RAV1 and BES1 because RAV1 exhibited binding activity to the BZR1 promoter but did not repress BZR1 *** observed that constitutively activated BR signaling phenotypes in bes1-D were attenuated by the repression of endogenous BES1 expression in transgenic bes1-D plants overexpressing ***-sequencing analysis of RAV1-overexpressing transgenic plants and bes1-D mutant plants revealed differentially expressed genes by RAV1 and BES1 and genes that were oppositely co-regulated by RAV1 and ***1 and BES1 regulated different transcriptomes but co-regulated a specific set of genes responsible for the balance between growth and *** results suggested that the mutual inhibitory transcriptional activities of RAV1 and BES1 provide fine regulatory mechanisms for plant growth and development.

Effect of pulse time on surface characteristics and corrosion resistance during pulse electrochemical polishing

Optimization of the pulse width and injection time in a double-pass laser amplifier

We have optimized the input pulse width and injection time to achieve the highest possible output pulse energy in a double-pass laser amplifier using two Nd:YAG rods. For this purpose, we have extended the Frantz–Nodvik equation by simultaneously including both spontaneous emission and pump energy variation. The effective pump energy of the flash lamp was 8.84 J for each gain medium. The energy of 1 J could be amplified to an output energy of 12.17 J with the maximum achieved extraction efficiency of 63.18% when an input pulse having a pulse width of 168 μs is sent 10 μs after the absorbed pump energy becomes the maximum value.
