Lockdown during COVID-19 pandemic:A case study from Indian cities shows insignificant effects on persistent property of urban air quality

The influence of reduction in emissions on the inherent temporal characteristics of PMand NOconcentration time series in six urban cities of India is assessed by computing the Hurst exponent using Detrended Fluctuation Analysis(DFA) during the lockdown period(March 24–April 20, 2020) and the corresponding period during the previous two years(i.e., 2018 and 2019). The analysis suggests the anticipated impact of confinement on the PMand NOconcentration in urban cities, causing low concentrations. It is observed that the original PMand NOconcentration time series is persistent but filtering the time series by fitting the autoregressive process of order 1 on the actual time series and subtracting it changes the persistence property significantly. It indicates the presence of linear correlations in the PMand NOconcentrations. Hurst exponent of the PMand NOconcentration during the lockdown period and previous two years shows that the inherent temporal characteristics of the short-term air pollutant concentrations(APCs) time series do not change even after withholding the emissions. The meteorological variations also do not change over the three time periods. The finding helps in developing the prediction models for future policy decisions to improve urban air quality across cities.

A plant＇s capability to cope with environmental challenges largely relies on signal transmission through mitogen-activated protein kinase （MAPK） cascades. In Arabidopsis thaliana, MPK3 is particularly strongly associated with numerous abiotic and biotic stress responses. Identification of MPK3 substrates is a milestone towards improving stress resistance in plants. Here, we characterize AZI1, a lipid transfer protein （LTP）-related hybrid proline-rich protein （HyPRP）, as a novel target of MPK3. AZI1 is phosphorylated by MPK3 in vitro. As documented by co-immunoprecipitation and bimolecular fluorescence complementation experiments, AZI1 interacts with MPK3 to form protein complexes in planta. Furthermore, null mutants of azil are hypersensitive to salt stress, while AZIl-overexpressing lines are markedly more tolerant. AZI1 overexpression in the mpk3 genetic background partially alleviates the salt-hypersensitive phenotype of this mutant, but functional MPK3 appears to be required for the full extent of AZIl-conferred robustness. Notably, this robustness does not come at the expense of normal development. Immunoblot and RT-PCR data point to a role of MPK3 as positive regulator of AZI1 abundance.

The objective of this study was to isolate a potent dye-degrading microbe that can be used to reduce the pollution caused by industrial *** red 198 is an extensively used textile dye and is a major environmental pollutant in water bodies. In this study, a bacterial strain was isolated from sea sediments and identified as Acinetobacter baumannii with 16S rRNA sequencing. The isolated bacteria were immobilized in calcium alginate and decolorization studies were carried out to determine the optimum pH, temperature, dye concentration, inoculum volume,and static/agitated condition using the one factor at a time(OFAT) approach. The Box-Behnken design, a type of response surface methodology,was adopted to improve the degradation efficiency. At 37℃ using an inoculum volume of six beads, 96.20% decolorization was observed in 500 mg/L of reactive red 198 after 72 h. Dye degradation was confirmed with UV-visible spectroscopy and Fourier-transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy studies of the dye and degraded metabolites. Microbial toxicity studies using Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and phytotoxicity studies using Vigna radiata proved that the toxicity of the dye was significantly reduced after degradation. We can conclude that the isolated A. baumannii strain is an efficient dye-degrading microbe that can be used to reduce the pollution caused by industrial dyes.

A neural network is one of the current trends in deep learning,which is increasingly gaining attention owing to its contribution in transforming the different facets of human *** also paves a way to approach the current crisis caused by the coronavirus disease(COVID-19)from all scientific *** neural network(CNN),a type of neural network,is extensively applied in the medical field,and is particularly useful in the current COVID-19 *** this article,we present the application of CNNs for the diagnosis and prognosis of COVID-19 using X-ray and computed tomography(CT)images of COVID-19 *** CNN models discussed in this review were mainly developed for the detection,classification,and segmentation of COVID-19 *** base models used for detection and classification were AlexNet,Visual Geometry Group Network with 16 layers,residual network,DensNet,GoogLeNet,MobileNet,Inception,and extreme Inception.U-Net and voxel-based broad learning network were used for *** with limited datasets,these methods proved to be beneficial for efficiently identifying the occurrence of *** further validate these observations,we conducted an experimental study using a simple CNN framework for the binary classification of COVID-19 CT *** achieved an accuracy of 93%with an F1-score of ***,with the availability of improved medical image datasets,it is evident that CNNs are very useful for the efficient diagnosis and prognosis of COVID-19.

We present a novel gravastar model based on the Mazur-Mottola(2004)method with an isotropic matter distribution in f(Q)*** gravastar,which is a hypothesized substitute for a black hole,is built using the Mazur-Mottola *** approach allows us to define the gravastar as having three *** first one is an inner region with negative pressure;the next region is a thin shell that is made up of ultrarelativistic stiff fluid,and we studied the proper length,energy,entropy,and surface energy density for this ***,we demonstrated the possible stability of our suggested thin shell gravastar model through the graphical study of the surface *** exterior Schwarzschild geometry describes the outer region of the *** the context of f(Q)gravity,we discovered analytical solutions for the interior of gravastars that are free of any type of singularity and the event horizon.
