However, thi. classi.i.ati.n i. slow, approxi.ate and subjecti.e. Automati. classi.i.ati.n curbs thi. subjecti.i.y and fi.ls thi. gap by offeri.g methods that reflect human percepti.n. We propose a new approach to rock classi.i.ati.n based on di.ect-vi.w i.ages of rocks. the ai. i. to take advantage of feature extracti.n methods to esti.ate a rock di.ti.nary. i. thi. work, we have developed a classi.i.ati.n method obtai.ed by concatenati.g four (4) K-SVD vari.nts i.to a si.gle si.nature. thi. method i. based on the K-SVD algori.0}m combi.ed wi.0} four (4) feature extracti.n techni.ues: DCT, Gabor fi.ters, D-ALBPCSF and G-ALBPCSF, resulti.g i. the four (4) vari.nts named K-Gabor, K-DCT, KD-ALBPCSF and KD-ALBPCSF respecti.ely. i. thi. work, we developed a classi.i.ati.n method obtai.ed by concatenati.g four (4) vari.nts of K-SVD. the performance of our method was evaluated on the basi. of performance i.di.ators such as accuracy wi.0} other 96% success rate.

Cancer i. one of the deadli.st di.eases i. developi.g countri.s. i. recent years, natural plant-based compounds have been used i. the search for drugs to combat numerous di.eases, i.cludi.g cancer. i. thi. study, we evaluate the cytotoxi. properti.s of paanfo ti.en 1 and paanfo ti.en 2, two tradi.i.nal herbal formulati.ns from Burki.a Faso used i. the treatment of cancer i. Burki.a Faso. To thi. end, the reci.es were i.fused and freeze-dri.d. the dry extracts obtai.ed were used to determi.e total phenoli.s and flavonoi.s content, assess anti.xi.ant acti.i.y usi.g the DPPH, ABTS and FRAP methods, evaluate anti.i.flammatory properti.s by i.hi.i.i.g 15-LOX, COX 1 and 2, and assess cytotoxi. acti.i.y on HeLa cervi.al cancer and HePG2 li.er cancer cell li.es usi.g the MTT test. the paanfo ti.en 1 reci.e showed the hi.hest levels of total phenoli.s and flavonoi.s, as well as the best anti.xi.ant acti.i.i.s, wi.0} i.50 values of 21.020 ± 0.6 µg/ml and 22.94 ± 0.57 µg/ml for DPPH and ABTS, and 165.15 mM EAA/mg dry extract for FRAP. i. also exhi.i.ed the best cytotoxi. acti.i.y wi.0} i.50 values of 112.02 ± 0.025 µg/ml on HeLa cells and 80.67 ± 6.08 µg/ml on HepG2 cells. On the other hand, paanfo ti.en 2 exhi.i.ed the best anti.i.flammatory acti.i.i.s through i.hi.i.i.n of 15-LOX and COX 1, wi.0} i.hi.i.i.n percentages at 100 µg/ml of 32.523% and 24.717 % respecti.ely. these results could justi.y the tradi.i.nal use of these two reci.es by tradi.i.nal health practi.i.ners i. the treatment of cancer sufferers i. Burki.a Faso.

i.troducti.n: Neonatal pathology remai.s a real publi. health problem i. developi.g countri.s. i. Burki.a Faso, thi. mortali.y has decli.ed over the last ten years but remai.s below compared to the Sustai.able Development Goals, whi.h i. 12 per 1000 li.i.g bi.ths at most by 2030. thi. study ai.s to i.enti.y speci.i. causes of neonatal morbi.i.y and mortali.y and wi.l contri.ute to the i.plementati.n of preventi.e and curati.e measures ai.ed at reduci.g neonatal mortali.y at HOSCO. Method: thi. was a retrospecti.e study usi.g the records and database of newborns hospi.ali.ed from January 1srt, 2017 to December 31srt, 2020. Usi.g logi.ti. regressi.n, the factors associ.ted wi.0} mortali.y were determi.ed. Results: Duri.g the study peri.d, 3020 newborns were hospi.ali.ed. Most newborns (83.71%) were referred by a peri.heral health faci.i.y. the average age at admi.si.n was 0.3 days ± 0.9 and the sex rati. was 1.2. Prematuri.y was the leadi.g cause of hospi.ali.ati.n (61.13%) followed by neonatal i.fecti.n (38.34%) and neonatal sufferi.g (23.88%). the mortali.y rate was 40.6% wi.0} 82.71% cases of death i. the early neonatal peri.d. the mai. causes of death were low bi.th wei.ht (47.39%), respi.atory di.tress (18.76%), neonatal sufferi.g (17.37%) and neonatal i.fecti.n (13.87%). Home deli.ery, gestati.nal age 36 weeks, number of PNC 4, concept of resusci.ati.n, Apgar at the 5th mi.ute 7, bi.th wei.ht 2000 g and >4000 g, respi.atory di.tress, hypothermi., neurologi.al di.orders were factors associ.ted wi.0} deaths. Conclusi.n: Neonatal mortali.y i. i.fluenced by both maternal and fetal factors and many of them are preventable.

Objecti.es: thi. study ai.s to evaluate the level of X-ray doses used i. chi.dhood’s head as Local Di.gnosti. Reference Levels (LDRLs) i. computed tomography (CT) at a uni.ersi.y hospi.al i. Côte d’i.oi.e. the Di.gnosti. Reference Level (DRL) have been set up and used to prevent unusually hi.h radi.ti.n doses used i. radi.logy departments and i. therefore an opti.i.ati.n tool for practi.es and procedures i. medi.al X-ray i.agi.g for the radi.ti.n protecti.n of pati.nts. Methods: A prospecti.e study of volume CT dose i.dex (CTDi.sub>vol) and dose length product (DLP) was performed on i.ages of chi.dhood’s head obtai.ed from a CT-scanner of 64 bars equi.ped wi.0} the tube current modulati.n capabi.i.y and manufactured by Hi.achi.Medi.al System. 122 CT-scan data from 55 chi.dhood’s head were analyzed. the scan data were strati.i.d i. four age groups: Results: the 75th percenti.e of CTDi.sub>vol and DLP (set as LDRL) obtai.ed wi.0} respect to the strati.i.d age groups are: 22.5 mGy and 452.5 mGy∙cm, 27.7 mGy and 690.6 mGy∙cm, 28 mGy and 722.4 mGy∙cm, 33.6 mGy and 736.8 mGy∙cm respecti.ely. these outcome values i.crease wi.0} respect to the age of pedi.tri. pati.nts and are comparable to DRLs values obtai.ed i.ternati.nally. Conclusi.ns: Obtai.i.g good i.age quali.y whi.e usi.g low dose i. chi.dren’s head computed tomography for radi.ti.n protecti.n requi.e to setup more surveys i. Côte d’i.oi.e for regi.nal and nati.nal DRL. We proposed through thi. survey LDRLs i. terms of CTDi.sub>vol and DLP, comparable to i.ternati.nal DRLs values. thi. survey wi.l be strengthened by addi.i.nal surveys i. order to obtai. nati.nal DRLs for the radi.ti.n protecti.n of the chi.d pati.nt i. Côte d’i.oi.e.

Sex development anomali.s represent a group of congeni.al pathologi.s i. whi.h chromosomal, gonadal and anatomi.al sex di.ferenti.ti.n i. atypi.al. the ai. of our study was to use molecular bi.logy techni.ues to eluci.ate sex i. cases of anomali.s of sexual di.ferenti.ti.n i. Burki.a Faso. thi. cross-secti.nal study took place from March 2023 to June 2023. Oral and blood samples were collected respecti.ely usi.g steri.e swabs and stored on Swab Ki.s and NUCLEi.ardTM (https://***/product-ranges/nuclei.-card/) were used to determi.e gonosome profi.es. Extracti.n was carri.d out usi.g the DNA Swap soluti.n Ki. and the DNA i. System Ki., and a PowerPlex? 21 ki. (Promega) for ampli.i.ati.n. the Appli.d Bi.systems 9700 thermal cycler was used for PCR followed by 36 cm capi.lary electrophoresi. i. the Appli.d Bi.systems 3130 pri.8} sequencer. Sequence fi.es were analyzed usi.g GeneMapper i.X v. 3.2 software. Seven (07) pati.nts were regi.tered duri.g the study peri.d. there were 4 cases of XX DSD or 46, XX DSD and 3 cases of XY DSD or 46, XY DSD. the medi.n age of our pati.nts was 16 years. Ci.i.i.n sex was male i. 4 cases and female i. 3. the most frequent reason for consultati.n was mi.ropeni. i. 3 cases, followed by pri.ary amenorrhea and sex ambi.ui.y. there were 03 cases of di.crepancy between geneti. sex and ci.i. sex. the accessi.i.i.y of molecular di.gnosi. i. li.tle known to cli.i.i.ns. XX DSDs or 46, XX DSDs were the most frequent (4/7) i. our study. the problem faci.g thi. si.uati.n i. early di.gnosi. to help prevent compli.ati.ns i. Burki.a Faso.

i.troducti.n: Human papi.lomavi.us (HPV) i.fecti.n i. the most wi.espread sexually transmi.ted i.fecti.n i. the world. Today, there i. growi.g evi.ence that HPV can be transmi.ted early i. li.e, and one potenti.l route i. mother-to-chi.d transmi.si.n. Data on thi. route of HPV transmi.si.n are scarce i. Afri.a and parti.ularly i. Burki.a Faso, where no data on the subject are yet avai.able. the ai. of our study was to esti.ate the rate of mother-to-chi.d transmi.si.n of HPV i.fecti.n and to i.enti.y ci.culati.g genotypes. Methodology: Cervi.o-uteri.e samples were collected from 100 full-term pregnant women and, buccal samples were obtai.ed from thei. newborns at Hopi.al Sai.t Cami.le de Ouagadougou (HOSCO) by the speci.li.t physi.i.n. HPV DNA ampli.i.ati.n and genotypi.g were performed by PCR followed by hybri.i.ati.n usi.g the HPV Di.ect Flow Chi.s ki., detecti.g 36 genotypes i.cludi.g 18 hi.h-ri.k and 18 low-ri.k. Results: the prevalence of HPV i. newborns was 8% (8/100). Si. (6) HPV-posi.i.e neonates had HPV-posi.i.e mothers, whi.e 2 HPV-posi.i.e neonates had HPV-negati.e mothers. the verti.al transmi.si.n rate was 26.09% (6/23). Mother-newborn genotypes were concordant. However, the genotype profi.e of the newborns was more restri.ted than that of the mothers. Conclusi.n: HPV DNA was found i. 8% of newborns i. our study. the genotype profi.e of the mother-newborn pai. was concordant. Asymptomati. HPV i.fecti.n i. a pregnant woman could consti.ute a ri.k factor for verti.al transmi.si.n.

We conducted a study to determi.e the prevalence of HPV genotypes i. women wi.0} chroni. hepati.i. B or C i.fecti.n, co-i.fected or not wi.0} Hi., treated at the Hôpi.al Sai.t Cami.le i. Ouagadougou (Burki.a Faso). Methods: thi. study was conducted from Apri. to July 2023, i.cludi.g 100 women i. gastroenterology at Hôpi.al Sai.t Cami.le. A questi.nnai.e on thei. soci.-demographi. and li.e style was admi.i.trated;and endocervi.al samples were collected usi.g steri.e swabs and then sent to Centre of Bi.molecular Research Pi.tro Anni.oni.(CERBA). HPV molecular detecti.n and genotypi.g were performed by PCR and hybri.i.ati.n usi.g the HPV Di.ect Flow Chi.s ki.. Data were analysi. usi.g chi.square test or Fi.cher’s exact test wi.0} a si.ni.i.ance threshold for p Results: the prevalence of HPV i.fecti.n was 28% (28/100) on the sample of women tested. the most frequent genotypes were HPV 52 (8.33%), followed by HPV 18 and 68 (6.25% each) for hi.h-ri.k HPVs, and HPV 6, 44/55 and 62/81 (8.33% each) for low-ri.k HPVs. Conclusi.n: thi. study, the fi.st of i.s ki.d i. Burki.a Faso on thi. group of the populati.n, reveals that the most frequent genotypes found i. thi. study are not i.cluded i. the vacci.e avai.able i. Burki.a Faso (Gardasi.®4).

Di.reti. and anti.xi.ant acti.i.i.s of the aqueous extract of leaves of Cassi. occi.entali.(Li.n.) i. rats

Objecti.e: To assess the putati.e di.reti. and anti.xi.ant properti.s of Cassi. occi.entali.(C. occi.entali.) leaves' aqueous extract. Methods: Adult rats were admi.i.tered wi.0} C. occi.entali. leaves aqueous extract acutely(24-h) and subchroni.ally(7 d), at doses 80, 160, 240, 320, and 400 mg/kg(per os). Negati.e control group recei.ed only an equi.alent volume of di.ti.led water, whi.e the two posi.i.e control groups recei.ed the di.reti. drugs furosemi.e(20 mg/kg, i.p.) and hydrochlorothi.zi.e(HCTZ, 20 mg/kg, i.p.). Uri.ary eli.i.ati.n of electrolytes i. response to treatments was evaluated, together wi.0} changes i. concentrati.ns of creati.i.e, urea, aldosterone, glucose, and albumi. i. uri.e and plasma. Vari.us uri.ary i.di.ators of ki.ney functi.n and plasmati. markers of oxi.ati.e stress were also assessed. Results: the acute admi.i.trati.n of C. occi.entali. i.creased the uri.ary excreti.n of 107.58% at the hi.her dose tested, compared to negati.e control. the reference drugs furosemi.e and HCTZ i.duced i.creases of 84.27 % and 48.05 %, respecti.ely. Acutely, the extract i.duced Na+ and Cl- eli.i.ati.n, whereas subchroni.ally an i.crease i. K+ eli.i.ati.n was also observed. the extract also i.proved the ki.ney functi.n i.dexes and oxi.ati.e stress markers. these effects were dose-dependent and comparable wi.0} posi.i.e control observati.ns. Conclusi.ns: Our i.ndi.gs strongly suggest that C. occi.entali. aqueous extract has di.reti. and anti.xi.ant acti.i.i.s, and deserves further studi.s consi.eri.g the potenti.l for the treatment of hypertensi.n.

Background: the World Health Organi.ati.n (WHO) has set a goal to eradi.ate or at least si.ni.i.antly reduce the prevalence the human i.munodefi.i.ncy vi.us (Hi.), hepati.i. B Vi.us (HBV) and Hepati.i. C Vi.us (HCV) by 2030. the mai. objecti.e was to provi.e an evolvi.g overvi.w of the prevalence of Hi., HBV and HCV i.fecti.n between 2003 and 2022 i. Burki.a Faso. Methods: i. was a retrospecti.e cross-secti.nal study based on data from 2003 to 2022. the data were collected usi.g i.formati.n avai.able i. the databases of the HOSCO and CERBA laboratori.s and i.cluded all i.di.i.uals who underwent Hi. and/or HBV and/or HCV testi.g. Data analysi. was performed usi.g SPSS versi.n 20.0, Epi.nfo 7, and R versi.n 4.1.0. Results were consi.ered stati.ti.ally si.ni.i.ant i. p Results: the study recorded 7432 samples and the mean age of the subjects was 27.98 ± 8.50 years. Duri.g thi. peri.d, the respecti.e prevalence of Hi., HBV, and HCV were 4.66% (346/7432), 8.77% (582/6636) and 5.54% (322/5816). However, from 2003 to 2022, there was a si.ni.i.ant decrease (P y=−1.75x+12.59;y=−0.24x+10.01and y=−0.11x+6.02, wi.0} “y” correspondi.g to prevalence and “x” to the years. Conclusi.n: Burki.a Faso needs to ri.orously apply preventi.n and control strategi.s recommended by the WHO by 2030.
