Influence of dissipation on solitary wave solution to generalized Boussinesq equation

This paper uses the theory of planar dynamic systems and the knowledge of reaction-diffusion equations,and then studies the bounded traveling wave solution of the generalized Boussinesq equation affected by dissipation and the influence of dissipation on solitary waves.The dynamic system corresponding to the traveling wave solution of the equation is qualitatively analyzed in detail.The influence of the dissipation coefficient on the solution behavior of the bounded traveling wave is studied,and the critical values that can describe the magnitude of the dissipation effect are,respectively,found for the two cases of b_30 in the equation.The results show that,when the dissipation effect is significant(i.e.,r is greater than the critical value in a certain situation),the traveling wave solution to the generalized Boussinesq equation appears as a kink-shaped solitary wave solution;when the dissipation effect is small(i.e.,r is smaller than the critical value in a certain situation),the traveling wave solution to the equation appears as the oscillation attenuation solution.By using the hypothesis undetermined method,all possible solitary wave solutions to the equation when there is no dissipation effect(i.e.,r=0)and the partial kink-shaped solitary wave solution when the dissipation effect is significant are obtained;in particular,when the dissipation effect is small,an approximate solution of the oscillation attenuation solution can be achieved.This paper is further based on the idea of the homogenization principles.By establishing an integral equation reflecting the relationship between the approximate solution of the oscillation attenuation solution and the exact solution obtained in the paper,and by investigating the asymptotic behavior of the solution at infinity,the error estimate between the approximate solution of the oscillation attenuation solution and the exact solution is obtained,which is an infinitesimal amount that decays exponentially.The influence of the dissipation coefficient on the ampli

Electrolyte design holds the greatest opportunity for the development of batteries that are capable of sub-zero temperature operation.To get the most energy storage out of the battery at low temperatures,improvements in electrolyte chemistry need to be coupled with optimized electrode materials and tailored electrolyte/electrode interphases.Herein,this review critically outlines electrolytes’limiting factors,including reduced ionic conductivity,large de-solvation energy,sluggish charge transfer,and slow Li-ion transportation across the electrolyte/electrode interphases,which affect the low-temperature performance of Li-metal batteries.Detailed theoretical derivations that explain the explicit influence of temperature on battery performance are presented to deepen understanding.Emerging improvement strategies from the aspects of electrolyte design and electrolyte/electrode interphase engineering are summarized and rigorously compared.Perspectives on future research are proposed to guide the ongoing exploration for better low-temperature Li-metal batteries.

InStereo2K: a large real dataset for stereo matching in indoor scenes

Deep neural networks have shown great success in stereo matching in recent years. On the KITTI datasets, most top performing methods are based on neural networks. However, on the Middlebury datasets,these methods usually do not perform well. The KITTI datasets are collected in outdoor scenes while the Middlebury datasets are collected in indoor scenes. It is commonly believed that the community still lacks a large labelled dataset for stereo matching in indoor scenes. In this paper, we introduce a new stereo dataset called InS tereo2K. It contains 2050 pairs of stereo images with highly accurate groundtruth disparity maps, including 2000 pairs for training and 50 pairs for test. Experimental results show that our dataset can significantly improve the performance of several latest networks(including StereoNet and PSMNet) on the Middlebury 2014 dataset. The large scale, high accuracy and rich diversity of the proposed InS tereo2K dataset provide new opportunities to researchers in the area of stereo matching and beyond. It also takes end-to-end stereo matching methods a step towards practical applications.

Solid-state corrosion of lithium for prelithiation of SiO_(x)-C composite anode with carbon-incorporated lithium phosphorus oxynitride

In order to address the issues of low initial Coulombic efficiency of SiO_(x)-C composite anode due to the formation of solid electrolyte interphase,irreversible conversion reaction,and large volume change,the prelithiation method using metal lithium has been employed as one of effective solutions.However,violent side reactions with liquid electrolyte for prelithiation lead to low prelithiation efficiency and induce poor interface between the SiO_(x)-C electrode and liquid electrolyte.Here,a new prelithiation method with so called solid-state corrosion of lithium is developed.By replacing liquid electrolyte with solid-state electrolyte of carbon-incorporated lithium phosphorus oxynitride(LiCPON),not only various side reactions associated with metal lithium are avoided,but also the perfect interface is achieved from the decomposition products of LiCPON.The successful implementation of solid-state corrosion prelithiation can be confirmed by changes in optical image,scanning electron microscopy,and X-ray diffraction.Compared with pristine electrode,the initial Coulombic efficiency of the prelithiated electrode using solid electrolyte can be increased by about 10%,reaching 98.6%in half cell and 88.9%in full cell.Compared with prelithiated electrode using liquid electrolyte,the prelithiation efficiency of the prelithiated anode with solid-state corrosion can be increased from 25.7%to 82.8%.Solid-state corrosion of lithium is expected to become a useful method for prelithiation of SiO_(x)-C composite electrode with high initial Coulombic efficiency and large prelithiation efficiency.

Genetic Algorithm‑Based SOTIF Scenario Construction for Complex Traffic Flow

The Safety of The Intended Functionality(SOTIF)challenge represents the triggering condition by elements of a specific scenario and exposes the function limitation of an autonomous vehicle(AV),which leads to hazards.As for operationcontent-related features,the scenario is similar to AVs’SOTIF research and development.Therefore,scenario generation is a significant topic for SOTIF verification and validation procedure,especially in the simulation testing of AVs.Thus,in this paper,a well-designed scenario architecture is first defined,with comprehensive scenario elements,to present SOTIF trigger conditions.Then,considering complex traffic disturbance as trigger conditions,a novel SOTIF scenario generation method is developed.An indicator,also known as Scenario Potential Risk,is defined as the combination of the safety control intensity and the prior collision probability.This indicator helps identify critical scenarios in the proposed method.In addition,the corresponding vehicle motion models are established for general straight roads,curved roads,and safety assessment areas.As for the traffic participants’motion model,it is designed to construct the key dynamic events.To efficiently search for critical scenarios with the trigger of complex traffic flow,this scenario is encoded as genes and it is regenerated through selection,mutation,and crossover iteration processes,known as the Genetic Algorithm(GA).Experimental results show that the GA-based method could efficiently construct diverse and critical traffic scenarios,contributing to the construction of the SOTIF scenario library.

Analysis of solar radiation changes in Chinese solar greenhouses with different roof structures based on a solar radiation model

Chinese solar greenhouses(CSGs)are important agricultural production facilities.Under non-artificial heating conditions,solar radiation is the only CSGs energy source.It is highly important to optimally obtain solar energy in greenhouse construction and production.In this study,a solar radiation model for solar greenhouses was adopted to explore the quantities of solar radiation in greenhouses considering different front roof forms and angles.Herein,the solar radiation amounts corresponding to five roof forms,namely,double-section arc,parabolic,oval,arc,and linear roofs,are compared and analyzed during the four solar periods(beginning of spring,vernal equinox,beginning of winter,and winter solstice).It was found that the solar radiation of oval roof greenhouses on the ground was the largest and was 4.44%-23.68%higher than that of parabolic roofs.In addition,the cumulative sum of light on the linear roof greenhouse wall is also the largest and was 6.02%to 12.08%higher than the parabolic roof greenhouse in the four solar terms.Moreover,the solar radiation in CSGs was compared with front roof angles of 25°,30°,and 35°.It was observed that the solar radiation amount gradually increases with increasing angles.Notably,the variation at an angle of 35°influences the solar radiation of the paraboloidal CSGs ground and elliptical CSGs north wall to the greatest extent,which increased by 8.23%and 12.74%,respectively.This study confirms the role of front roof form and inclination angle in enhancing the greenhouse solar radiation level.

CDK5 inhibition promotes osteoblastic differentiation of MSCs and blocks the migration of osteosarcoma MG-63 cells

CDK5 belongs to the cyclin-dependent kinase family.CDK5 is multifunctional and plays an important role in neural differentiation.However,the role of CDK5 in osteoblastic differentiation remains unclear.The present study investigated functions and molecular mechanism of CDK5 in osteoblastic differentiation.It was found that,CDK5 inhibition promoted the expression of Runx2,ALP,OCN and OPN of MSCs and the mineralization of MC-3T3E1 cells and MSCs.CDK5 inhibition enhanced the development of F-actin,nuclear localization ofβ-catenin and YAP,as well as the expression of RMRP RNA.When F-actin was suppressed by Blebbistatin,the nuclear localization of YAP andβ-catenin,and expression of RMRP RNA as well as Runx2 and ALP were decreased.These indicate Seliciclib promotes osteoblastic differentiation mainly by F-actin.Moreover,Seliciclib also suppressed the migration of MG-63,suggesting a potential application for Seliciclib in bone defect repair and inhibition of the migration of osteosarcoma cells after osteosarcoma surgical resection.

Analysis of the internal charging data in medium earth orbit with numerical simulation and ground experiment

The deep dielectric charging effect monitor(DDCEM)has been designed to study the internal charging effect by measuring the charging currents and potentials inside the spacecraft.It is equipped on three Chinese navigation satellites in a circular medium earth orbit(MEO)with 22000 km average height and 55°inclinations.Numerical simulation based on the Geant4-RIC method was used to evaluate the data of DDCEM.The data during May to November 2019 on one of the three satellites show that the charging currents of DDCEM were negatively enhanced when the satellite moved into the outer radiation belt.The currents reached the negative maximum during a significant electron enhancement in September 2019.Positive currents were also detected besides negative currents that were caused by the deposition of electrons in the sensor.The causation of positive currents in the space environment may be that the low-energy electrons cannot penetrate the satellite skin and make it charging to negative potential,the reference ground of DDCEM that is connected to the satellite skin drops below zero by the low-energy electrons so that the output currents turn to positive.Ground experiment was used to simulate the causation of positive currents and the result verified our theory.

Spatial Pattern of Cotton Yield Variability and Its Response to Climate Change in Cotton Belt of Pakistan

Cotton is a revenue source for cotton-producing countries;as the second-largest crop in Pakistan,it significantly contributes to its economy.Over the past few decades,cotton productivity has become unstable in Pakistan,and climate change is one of the main factors that impact cotton yield.Due to climate change,it becomes very important to understand the change trend and its impact on cotton yield at the regional level.Here,we investigate the relationship of standardized cotton yield variability with the variability of climate factors using a 15-yr moving window.The piecewise regression was fitted to obtain the trend-shifting point of climate factors.The results show that precipitation has experienced an overall decreasing trend of–0.64 mm/yr during the study period,with opposing trends of–1.39 mm/yr and 1.52 mm/yr before and after the trend-shifting point,respectively.We found that cotton yield variability increased at a rate of 0.17%/yr,and this trend was highly correlated with the variability of climate factors.The multiple regression analysis explains that climate variability is a dominant factor and controlled 81%of the cotton production in the study area from 1990 to 2019,while it controlled 73%of the production from 1990 to 2002 and 84%from 2002 to 2019.These findings reveal that climate factors affact the distinct spatial pattern of changes in cotton yield variability at the tehsil level.

Improving the Initial Coulombic Efficiency of Carbonaceous Materials for Li/Na‑Ion Batteries:Origins,Solutions,and Perspectives

Carbonaceous materials for lithium(Li)/sodium(Na)-ion batteries have attracted significant attention because of their widespread availability,renewable nature,and low cost.During the past decades,although great efforts have been devoted to developing high-performance carbonaceous materials with high capacity,long life span,and excellent rate capability,the low initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE)of high-capacity carbonaceous materials seriously limits their practical applications.Various methods have been successfully exploited,and a revolutionary impact has been achieved through the utilization of different techniques.Different carbonaceous materials possess different ion storage mechanisms,which means that the initial capacity loss may vary.However,there has rarely been a special review about the origins of and progress in the ICE for carbonaceous materials from the angle of the crystal structure.Hence,in this review,the structural differences between and ion storage mechanisms of various carbonaceous materials are first introduced.Then,we deduce the correlative factors of low ICE and thereafter summarize the proposed strategies to address these issues.Finally,some challenges,perspectives,and future directions on the ICE of carbonaceous materials are given.This review will provide deep insights into the challenges of improving the ICE of carbonaceous anodes for high-energy Li/Na-ion batteries,which will greatly contribute to their commercialization process.
