Stability and performance analysis of the compressed Kalman filter algorithm for sparse stochastic systems

This paper considers the problem of estimating unknown sparse time-varying signals for stochastic dynamic *** deal with the challenges of extensive sparsity,we resort to the compressed sensing method and propose a compressed Kalman filter(KF)*** algorithm first compresses the original high-dimensional sparse regression vector via the sensing matrix and then obtains a KF estimate in the compressed low-dimensional ***,the original high-dimensional sparse signals can be well recovered by a reconstruction *** ensure stability and establish upper bounds on the estimation errors,we introduce a compressed excitation condition without imposing independence or stationarity on the system signal,and therefore suitable for feedback *** further present the performance of the compressed KF ***,we show that the mean square compressed tracking error matrix can be approximately calculated by a linear deterministic difference matrix equation,which can be readily evaluated,analyzed,and ***,a numerical example demonstrates that our algorithm outperforms the standard uncompressed KF algorithm and other compressed algorithms for estimating high-dimensional sparse signals.

Interregional compensation for farmland protection:From the perspective of farmland allocation optimization

Interregional compensation for farmland protection(IRCFP)is a policy instrument for encouraging farmland protection through interregional fiscal transfer *** practices and studies on IRCFP have generally determined the payers and recipients of compensation based on the present distribution of farmland,and the compensation standards did not combine farmland development right value with farmland deficit and surplus,resulting in insignificant effects on farmland protection and even policy ***,in this study,we proposed an interregional compensation mechanism for farmland protection based on farmland allocation optimization by considering 31.provincial-level regions in *** results showed that(1.the determination of farmland surplus or deficit areas based on farmland allocation optimization met the regional construction land demand from the perspective of achieving food security.(2)The combination of the compensation value standard and cropland deficit and surplus had a positive effect on farmland protection.(3)Interregional compensation for farmland protection based on farmland allocation optimization can coordinate economic development,farmland protection,and ecological ***,we discussed the rationality of interregional compensation for farmland protection based on farmland allocation optimization and designed the operation mechanism of IRCFP.

Compressed Least Squares Algorithm of Continuous-Time Linear Stochastic Regression Model Using Sampling Data

In this paper,the authors consider a sparse parameter estimation problem in continuoustime linear stochastic regression models using sampling *** on the compressed sensing(CS)method,the authors propose a compressed least squares(LS) algorithm to deal with the challenges of parameter *** each sampling time instant,the proposed compressed LS algorithm first compresses the original high-dimensional regressor using a sensing matrix and obtains a low-dimensional LS estimate for the compressed unknown ***,the original high-dimensional sparse unknown parameter is recovered by a reconstruction *** introducing a compressed excitation assumption and employing stochastic Lyapunov function and martingale estimate methods,the authors establish the performance analysis of the compressed LS algorithm under the condition on the sampling time interval without using independence or stationarity conditions on the system *** last,a simulation example is provided to verify the theoretical results by comparing the standard and the compressed LS algorithms for estimating a high-dimensional sparse unknown parameter.

Evaluating different levels of information on the calibration of building energy simulation models

A poorly calibrated model undermines confidence in the effectiveness of building energy simulation, impeding the widespread application of advanced energy conservation measures (ECMs). Striking a balance between information-gathering efforts and achieving sufficient model credibility is crucial but often obscured by ambiguities. To address this gap, we model and calibrate a test bed with different levels of information (LOI). Beginning with an initial model based on building geometry (LOI 1., we progressively introduce additional information, including nameplate information (LOI 2), envelope conductivity (LOI 3), zone infiltration rate (LOI 4), AHU fan power (LOI 5), and HVAC data (LOI 6). The models are evaluated for accuracy, consistency, and the robustness of their predictions. Our results indicate that adding more information for calibration leads to improved data fit. However, this improvement is not uniform across all observed outputs due to identifiability issues. Furthermore, for energy-saving analysis, adding more information can significantly affect the projected energy savings by up to two times. Nevertheless, for ECM ranking, models that did not meet ASHRAE 1. accuracy thresholds can yield correct retrofit decisions. These findings underscore equifinality in modeling complex building systems. Clearly, predictive accuracy is not synonymous with model credibility. Therefore, to balance efforts in information-gathering and model reliability, it is crucial to (1. determine the minimum level of information required for calibration compatible with its intended purpose and (2) calibrate models with information closely linked to all outputs of interest, particularly when simultaneous accuracy for multiple outputs is necessary.

In-situ construction of MnCO3@CNTs nanosheets for high-capacity aqueous zinc ion batteries

Owing to severe agglomeration of manganese carbonate（MnCO3） during its synthesis,it exhibits rapid decay cycle performance when used as a cathode material in aqueous zinc ion *** overcome this drawback,we synthesized a MnCO3material with carbon nanotubes（CNTs）(i.e.,MnCO3@CNTs) via a one-step solvothermal method using a hybrid modification ***3nanospheres were grown in-situ on a two-dimensional（2D） plane that was orderly interwoven by tubular single fibers of carbon to form a leaf-like nanosheet *** surface area of the MnCO3@CNTs material was enlarged enormously through the special nanosheet structure,and its stability was improved by the supporting structure of the *** a result,the MnCO3@CNTs exhibited a discharge capacity of 247.6 mAh g-1.t a current density of 0.1.A *** energy storage mechanism of MnCO3@CNTs was further explored using a series of electrochemical kinetic analyses and ex-situ characterization *** modification method not only broadens the application field of MnCO3,but also provides the possibility of modifying more cathode materials.

Process optimization and mechanism study of ionic liquid-based mixed amine biphasic solvents for CO_(2) capture in biogas upgrading procedure

This study focused on enhancing the efficiency of methane upgrading and reducing energy consumption in the biogas upgrading process through the use of biphasic *** aqueous-based biphasic solvent,comprising methyl monoethanolamine(MMEA),N-methyldiethanolamine(MDEA),and 1.butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate(ItFB),was meticulously *** biogas upgrading effect,regeneration efficiency,regeneration energy consumption,economic viability,selectivity,and phase separation characteristics of this absorbent were systematically *** parameters,including different inlet flow rates,stirring rate,methane inlet concentrations,reaction temperatures,and amine mixing ratios,were adjusted to investigate their impact.A comprehensive evaluation was conducted on the biogas upgrading effect and substance migration trends of the biphasic *** process parameters were determined,demonstrating the favorable impact of the biphasic solvent on biogas *** upgraded gas achieved a methane purity exceeding 96%,and the regeneration energy consumption decreased by 44.27% compared to 30 wt.%MEA,resulting in a more than 50% improvement in economic *** interaction between the ionic liquid and carbamate facilitated the phase separation process,with carbon enrichment after separation exceeding 95%.This enhancement significantly contributed to the improvement of regeneration energy *** study thus concludes that biphasic solvents,exemplified by the described aqueous-based solution,offer a promising avenue for effective biogas upgrading with notable advancements in economic and energy efficiency.

“If Somebody Needed Help, I Went Over”: Social Capital and Therapeutic Communities of Older Adult Farmers in British Columbia Floods

Older adults in disaster contexts are often thought of as a passive, vulnerable population that lacks agency and capacities to cope in the aftermath. However, it can be argued that older adults may have underrecognized strengths that can be utilized pre-, peri-, and post-disaster. One of these strengths is older adults' unique social capital that stems from long-standing connections with other members of their respective communities. Using data from in-depth, semistructured interviews with farmers in British Columbia 3–1. months after the 2021.floods, this research explored the experiences of older adult farmers' recovery. The farmers discussed how they leveraged their social capital to aid in their recovery efforts from the flood event. By using their bonding social capital, older adult farmers transformed their existing, deep-rooted connections into post-disaster assistance. This, in turn, generated the idea of the therapeutic community, helping community members cope in the aftermath. This research indicated the need to further examine how older adults in disaster settings can be viewed as assets with community knowledge and skills as opposed to solely as a vulnerable population.

Bimetallic reduced graphene oxide/zeolitic imidazolate framework hybrid aerogels for efficient heavy metals removal

Graphene oxide is a promising adsorption ***,it has been difficult to recycle and separate graphene oxide in the *** alleviate this problem,graphene oxide was thermally reduced to produce porous hydrogel which was then functionalized with *** functional groups act as not only adsorption sites but also nucleation sites for in situ crystallization of cobalt-doped zeolitic-imidazolate-framework-8 *** effects of cobalt-doping contents on the physicochemical and adsorption properties of the resulting aerogel were also evaluated by varying the cobalt *** instance,the reduced graphene oxide-polydopamine/50cobalt-zeolitic-imidazolate-framework-8 aerogel exhibited a high surface area of 900 m^(2)·g^(-1.and maintained the structure in water after ten *** as-synthesized aerogels showed an ultrahigh adsorption capacity of 1.1.±24.35 mg·g^(-1.with a removal efficiency of>99%of lead,as well as excellent adsorption performance toward other heavy metals,such as copper and cadmium with adsorption capacity of 1.63±34.91.and 1.59±31.77 mg·g^(-1.,*** importantly,the lead adsorption stabilized at 1.23±20.5 mg·g^(-1.with a removal efficiency of>80%after seven cycles,indicating their potential in heavy metal removal from industrial wastewater.
