Despite the promising potential of transition metal oxides(TMOs)as capacitive deionization(CDI)electrodes,the actual capacity of TMOs electrodes for sodium storage is significantly lower than the theoretical capacity,posing a major ***,we prepared the kinetically favorable Zn_(x)Ni_(1−x)O electrode in situ growth on carbon felt(Zn_(x)Ni_(1−x)O@CF)through constraining the rate of OH^(−)generation in the hydrothermal ***_(x)Ni_(1−x)O@CF exhibited a high-density hierarchical nanosheet structure with three-dimensional open pores,benefitting the ion transport/electron *** tuning the moderate amount of redox-inert Zn-doping can enhance surface electroactive sites,actual activity of redox-active Ni species,and lower adsorption energy,promoting the adsorption kinetic and thermodynamic of the Zn_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)O@*** from the kinetic-thermodynamic facilitation mechanism,Zn_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)O@CF achieved ultrahigh desalination capacity(128.9 mgNaCl g^(-1)),ultra-low energy consumption(0.164 kW h kgNaCl^(-1)),high salt removal rate(1.21 mgNaCl g^(-1) min^(-1)),and good *** thermodynamic facilitation and Na^(+)intercalation mechanism of Zn_(0.2)Ni_(0.8)O@CF are identified by the density functional theory calculations and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring,*** research provides new insights into controlling electrochemically favorable morphology and demonstrates that Zn-doping,which is redox-inert,is essential for enhancing the electrochemical performance of CDI electrodes.

Light-triggered fluorochromic cholesteric liquid crystal elastomer with hydrogen-bonded fluorescent switch: dualmodal-switchable circularly polarized luminescence

Solid materials with dynamically tunable circularly polarized luminescence(CPL) feature higher security levels and devicefriendly characteristics, showing great superiority in the field of information technology and anti-counterfeiting. To address the limited photoisomerization of fluorescent photoswitch in CPL-active solid materials, here a cholesteric liquid crystal elastomer(CLCE) containing a hydrogen-bonded(H-bonded) polymerizable fluorescent switch AHBA-PSD is prepared. Owing to the good flexibility and low glass-transition temperature of CLCE, AHBA-PSD shows a fast and fully reversible photocyclization/cycloreversion with fluorochromic behavior in CLCE. Further, by controlling the spectral overlapping area between the emission and reflection bands, the CLCE exhibits a strong CPL with a g_(lum) value of up to 0.76 accompanied by a reversible phototunable CPL signal. Meanwhile, the H-bond helps to stabilize the mechanical property, and the force-induced switching-off of CPL signal could be achieved due to the destroyed helical structures by external force. Finally, an automatically-recognized identification card with abundant chiroptical information is demonstrated.

Modified electronic structure and enhanced hydroxyl adsorption make quaternary Pt-based nanosheets efficient anode electrocatalysts for formic acid-/alcohol-air fuel cells

Surface/interface engineering of a multimetallic nanostructure with diverse electrocatalytic properties for direct liquid fuel cells is desirable yet ***,using visible light,a class of quaternary Pt_(1)Ag_(0.1)Bi_(0.16)Te_(0.29)ultrathin nanosheets is fabricated and used as high-performance anode electrocatalysts for formic acid-/alcohol-air fuel *** modified electronic structure of Pt,enhanced hydroxyl adsorption,and abundant exterior defects afford Pt_(1)Ag_(0.1)Bi_(0.16)Te_(0.29)/C high intrinsic anodic electrocatalytic activity to boost the power densities of direct formic acid-/methanol-/ethanol-/ethylene glycol-/glycerol-air fuel cells,and the corresponding peak power density of Pt_(1)Ag_(0.1)Bi_(0.16)Te_(0.29)/C is respectively 129.7,142.3.105.4,124.3.and 128.0 mW cm^(-2),considerably outperforming Pt/*** in situ Fourier transform infrared reflection spectroscopy reveals that formic acid oxidation on Pt_(1)Ag_(0.1)Bi_(0.16)Te_(0.29)/C occurs via a CO_(2)-free direct *** functional theory calculations show that the presence of Ag,Bi,and Te in Pt_(1)Ag_(0.1)Bi_(0.16)Te_(0.29)suppresses CO^(*)formation while optimizing dehydrogenation steps and synergistic effect and modified Pt effectively enhance H_(2)O dissociation to improve electrocatalytic *** synthesis strategy can be extended to 43.other types of ultrathin multimetallic nanosheets(from ternary to octonary nanosheets),and efficiently capture precious metals(i.e.,Pd,Pt,Rh,Ru,Au,and Ag)from different water sources.

Modeling Method of Multi-Energy Systems Based on LSTM Algorithm

The development of the Energy Internet has improved the efficiency of energy utilization and promoted sustainable development of power and energy *** multi-energy system modeling considering the dynamic process of transmission line is one of the key research points of Energy Internet operation *** the energy circuit theory,the lumped parameter model of natural gas pipelines is built and the dynamic characteristic parameters under the control instruction are *** with dynamic characteristic parameters,the long short-term memory(LSTM)neural network is designed to fit the natural gas pipeline dynamic process into discrete linear time-varying(LTV)*** with the equations,an energy hub method is used to build a control model of industrial parks with multi-energy distribution *** the rolling optimal control strategy given in this paper,the model is solved by the Matlab-Yalmip solver and rolling control instructions of each energy conversion unit are ***,the case study demonstrates that the LSTM neural network-based modeling method presented in this paper can accurately fit the dynamic process of a natural gas pipeline *** rolling control model of the multi-energy system can improve the efficiency of energy utilization,exhibit the transmission line status constraints during the optimization control process and improve reliability of the multi-energy system operation.

The early detection of cascading failure plays an important role in the safe and stable operation of the power system with high penetration of renewable *** paper proposes a fault propagation dynamic model based on the epidemic model,and further puts forward a method to detect the development of cascading *** the simulation of the IEEE 3.-bus and 118-bus systems,this model is proven to be valid and capable of providing practical technical support for the prevention of cascading failures in power systems with high penetration of renewable *** paper also provides an analysis method for the choice of different protection and control measures at each stage of cascading failure,which has critical significance and follow-up value.

Multiplexed manipulation of orbital angular momentum and wavelength in metasurfaces based on arbitrary complex-amplitude control

Due to its unbounded and orthogonal modes,the orbital angular momentum(OAM)is regarded as a key optical degree of freedom(DoF)for future information processing with ultra-high capacity and *** the manipulation of OAM based on metasurfaces has brought about great achievements in various fields,such manipulation currently remains at single-DoF level,which means the multiplexed manipulation of OAM with other optical DoFs is still lacking,greatly hampering the application of OAM beams and advancement of *** order to overcome this challenge,we propose the idea of multiplexed coherent pixel(MCP)for *** approach enables the manipulation of arbitrary complex-amplitude under incident lights of both plane and OAM waves,on the basis of which we have realized the multiplexed DoF control of OAM and *** a result,the MCP method expands the types of incident lights which can be simultaneously responded by metasurfaces,enriches the information processing capability of metasurfaces,and creates applications of information encryption and OAM *** findings not only provide means for the design of high-security and high-capacity metasurfaces,but also raise the control and application level of OAM,offering great potential for multifunctional nanophotonic devices in the future.

As a critical role in battery systems,polymer binders have been shown to efficiently suppress the lithium polysulfide shuttling and accommodate volume changes in recent ***,preparation processes and safety,as the key criterions for Li-S batteries'practical applications,still attract less ***,an aqueous multifunction binder(named PEI-TIC)is prepared via an easy and fast epoxy-amine ring-opening reaction(10 min),which can not only give the sulfur cathode a stable mechanical property,a strong chemical adsorption and catalytic conversion ability,but also a fire safety *** Li-S batteries based on the PEI-TIC binder display a high discharge capacity(1297.8 mAh g^(-1)),superior rate performance(823.0 mAh g^(-1)at 2 C),and an ultralow capacity decay rate of 0.03.%over more than 800 *** under 7.1 mg cm^(-2)S-loaded,the PEI-TIC electrode can also achieve a high areal capacity of 7.2 mA h g^(-1)and excellent cycling stability,confirming its application ***,it is also noted that TG-FTIR test is performed for the first time to explore the flame-retardant mechanism of polymer *** work provides an economically and environmentally friendly binder for the practical application and inspires the exploration of the flame-retardant mechanism of all electrode components.

Influence of pore structure on thermal stress distribution inside coal particles during primary fragmentation

Thermal stress is an important reason of coal particle primary fragmentation,during which the role of pore structure is *** stress induced fragmentation experiments were conducted with low volatile coal/char particles,and the results show that the fragmentation severity enhances with increasing *** porous thermal stress models were developed with finite element method,and the influences of the pore shape,size,position and porosity on the thermal stress were *** maximum thermal stress inside particle increases with pore curvature,the pore position affects the thermal stress more significantly at the particle center and *** expectation of the maximum tensile thermal stress linearly increases with porosity,making the particles with higher porosity easier to fragment,contrary to the conclusion deduced from the devolatilization *** obtained results are valuable for the analysis of different thermal processes concerning the thermal stresses of the solid feedstocks.

Terahertz modulators play a critical role in high-speed wireless communication,non-destructive imaging,and so on,which have attracted a large amount of research ***,all-optical terahertz modulation,an ultrafast dynamical control approach,remains to be limited in terms of encoding and *** we experimentally demonstrated an optical-programmed terahertz switching realized by combining optical metasurfaces with the terahertz metasurface,resulting in 2-bit dual-channel terahertz *** terahertz metasurface,made up of semiconductor islands and artificial microstructures,enables effective all-optical programming by providing multiple frequency channels with ultrafast modulation at the nanosecond ***,optical metasurfaces covered in terahertz metasurface alter the spatial light field distribution to obtain color *** to the time-domain coupled mode theory analysis,the energy dissipation modes in terahertz metasurface can be independently controlled by color excitation,which explains the principle of 2-bit encoding *** work establishes a platform for all-optical programmed terahertz metadevices and may further advance the application of composite metasurface in terahertz manipulation.

Voltage-dependent P-Q Reserve Capacity Evaluation for TSO-DSO Interface Considering Uncertainties of DGs and FLs

Increasing distributed generators(DGs)and flexible loads(FLs)enable distribution systems to provide both active and reactive power reserves(P-Q reserves)in supporting the frequency and voltage regulations of transmission ***,such requirements at the interface between the transmission system operator(TSO)and distribution system operator(DSO)affect the distribution system operation security,considering the uncertainties of DGs and *** exploit the reserve potential of distribution systems,this paper investigates the voltagedependent P-Q reserve capacity(V-PQRC)of such types of distribution systems.V-PQRC reflects the feasible space of PQ reserves that the DSO can provide to the TSO taking the voltage deviation limit at TSO-DSO interface into consideration,while ensuring the distribution system operation security under uncertainties of DGs and *** evaluation method for VPQRC at the TSO-DSO interface is *** improve the robust performance of the evaluation method,the DG uncertainty is captured by a generalized ambiguity set and the FL uncertainty is addressed by designing a constrained sliding mode controller(CSMC).Three objectives are considered in the evaluation,i.e.,P reserve capacity,Q reserve capacity,and the voltage deviation limit at the TSO-DSO ***,a multiobjective optimization model integrating the generalized robust chance-constrained optimization and CSMC(GRCC-CSMC)is established for V-PQRC evaluation to obtain the Pareto optimal reserve ***,a non-approximated selecting(NAS)method is proposed to build up a simplified V-PQRC linear model,which can be convenient to apply in the transmissiondistribution system *** results reveal that the V-PQRC evaluation method can achieve a good performance of accuracy and robustness against uncertainties.
