In this article, we present a continuous review （s,S） inventory system with a service facility consisting of finite buffer （capacity n ） and a single server. The customers arrive according to a Poisson process. The individual customer＇s unit demand is satisfied after a random time of service, which is assumed to be exponential. When the inventory level drops to s＇an order for Q（= S-s） items is placed. The lead time of reorder is assumed to be exponential distribution. An arriving customer, who finds the buffer is full, enters into the pool of infinite size or leaves the system according to a Bernolli trial. At the time of service completion, if the buffer size drops to a preassigned level L （1 〈 L 〈 n） or below and the inventory level is above s, we select the customers from the pool according to two different policy ： in first policy, with probability p （0 〈 p 〈 1） we select the customer from the head of the pool and we place the customer at the end of the buffer; in the second policy, with p （0 〈 p 〈 1） the customer from the pool is transferred to the buffer for immediate service and after completion of his service we provide service to the customer who is in the buffer with probability one. If at a service completion epoch the buffer turns out to be empty, there is at least one customer in the pool and the inventory level is positive, then the one ahead of all waiting in the pool gets transferred to the buffer, and his service starts immediately. The joint probability distribution of the number of customers in the pool, number of customers in the buffer and the inventory level is obtained in the steady-state case. Various stationary system performance measures are computed and total expected cost rate is calculated. A comparative result of two models is illustrate numerically.

The performance of industrial waste incineration bottom ash in controlled low-strength material （CLSM） was investigated in this paper, as the quarry dust was added. CLSM mixtures were made from the industrial waste incineration bottom ash, quarry dust, and cement. Tests for fresh density, bleeding, compressive strength, shear strength, hydraulic conductivity, and excavatability were carried out. The com- pressive strength ranges from 60 kPa to 6790 kPa, the friction angle varies from 5°to 19°, and the cohesion is from 4 to 604 kPa. Most of the mixtures are found to be non-excavatable. It is indicated that the quarry dust addition increases the compressive strength and shear parame- ters, decreases bleeding, and increases the removability modulus.

Following the contemporary research trend of exploring the potential of eco-friendly natural fibres,this work studies the effects of alkali and silane treatments,with varying concentrations,on the mechanical characterization of composites reinforced with kenaf and pineapple leaf fibre(PALF).Kenaf-and PALF-based composites were fabricated through the heat compression *** mechanical characterization was then performed to evaluate the tensile,flexural and impact *** findings concluded that chemical treatments indeed enhanced the mechanical properties of composite materials.5%naOH and 3%silane treatments can respectively provide the optimum mechanical properties to the kenaf fibre and PALF reinforced *** treatment results evidenced that silane-treated composites exhibit higher mechanical properties compared to the naOH-treated *** comparing the mechanical properties of kenaf-and PALF-reinforced polypropylene composites,the overall results show that composites based on PALF have superior mechanical properties.

This paper elaborates a nonlinear fluidic low frequency vibration isolator designed with the characteristics of quasi-zero stiffness(QZS).The existing model of QZS vibration isolator enhances amplitude of vibration and attenuating vibration *** concern with displacement plays a vital role in the performance and instability of oblique spring setup reduces the isolator performance in horizontal non-nominal loads,in this accordance;this paper associates double acting hydraulic cylinder(fluidic actuators in short)in oblique and helical coil *** approximate expression of unique analytical relationship between the stiffness of vertical spring and bulk modulus of the fluid is derived for Quasi–Zero Stiffness non-Linear Vibration Isolator with Fluidic Actuators(nLVIFA in short)system and the force transmissibility is formulated and damping ratio are discussed for characteristic *** analysis carried out and compared with analytical results and an experimental prototype is developed and *** performance of the nLVIFA reduces the external embarrassment more at low frequencies and the series of experimental studies showing that the soft nonlinearity causes limitation in the resonant frequency thereupon the isolation will be enhanced and nLVIFA greatly outperform some other type of nonlinear isolators.

Characterisation, Luminescence and Antibacterial Properties of Stable AgnPs Synthesised from AgCl by Precipitation Method

Silver nanoparticles （AgnPs） were synthesised using equimolar concentrations of redtlcing agent vitamin C and AgCl precursor by simple precipitation method. The synthesised AgnPs were characterised by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, UV-Visible, photoluminescence and field emission scanning electron microscopy （FESEM） analysis. The formation of AgnPs was confirmed by the typical surface plasmon resonance band at 426 nm. The presence of elemental silver and pure crystalline face centre cubic （fcc） structure was confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray analysis and XRD analysis, respectively. The FESEM images showed the formation of spherical AgnPs for lower concentrations （0.1 and 0.3 mol/L） while spike and flower shaped particles were formed for higher concentration. Photoluminescence characteristic band was observed with no shift at 390 nm indicating the stable nature of AgnPs. The antibacterial property of the AgnPs was tested against gram negative bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa by using Cissus quadrangular as a control and the result showed that vitamin C reduced AgnPs have good antibacterial activity.

Tear film,the outermost layer of the eye,is a complex and dynamic structure responsible for tear *** tear film lipid layer is a vital component of the tear film that provides a smooth optical surface for the cornea and wetting the ocular *** eye syndrome(DES)is a symptomatic disease caused by reduced tear production,poor tear quality,or excessive *** diagnosis is a difficult task due to its multifactorial *** of several clinical tests available,the evaluation of the interference patterns of the tear film lipid layer forms a potential tool for DES *** instrument known as Tearscope Plus allows the rapid assessment of the lipid layer.A grading scale composed of five categories is used to classify lipid layer *** reported work proposes the design of an automatic system employing light weight convolutional neural networks(Cnn)and nature inspired optimization techniques to assess the tear film lipid layer patterns by interpreting the images acquired with the Tearscope *** designed framework achieves promising results compared with the existing state-of-the-art techniques.

BACKGROUnD Recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)following liver transplantation(LT)has a devastating influence on recipients’survival;however,the risk of recur-rence is not routinely *** stratification is vital with a long LT waiting time,as that could influence the recurrence despite strict listing *** This study aims to identify predictors of recurrence and develop a novel risk pre-diction score to forecast HCC recurrence following *** A retrospective review of LT for HCC recipients at University Hospitals Bir-mingham between July 2011 and February *** and multivariate analyses were performed to identify recurrence predictors,based on which the novel SIMAP500(satellite nodules,increase in size,microvascular invasion,AFP>500,poor differentiation)risk score was *** 234 LTs for HCC were performed with a median follow-up of 5.3 *** developed in 25 patients(10.7%).On univariate analyses,RETREAT score>3,α-fetoprotein(AFP)at listing 100-500 and>500,bridging,increased tumour size between imaging at the listing time and explant histology,increase in the size of viable tumour between listing and explant,presence of satellite nodules,micro-and macrovascular invasion on explant and poor differentiation of tumours were significantly associated with recurrence,based on which,the SIMAP500 risk score is *** SIMAP500 demonstrated an excellent predictive ability(c-index=0.803)and outper-formed the RETREAT score(c-index=0.73).SIMAP500 is indicative of the time to disease *** SIMAP500 risk score identifies the LT recipients at risk of HCC *** stratification allows patient-centric post-transplant surveillance *** validation of the score is recommended.
