Background: Era of contraception, abortions, [20th, 21st centuries] implemented as family welfare schemes witnessed, increased global incidence of cancer, tumors, neoplasm and mortality. Objectives: Altruistic association of contraception [if any], with increasing cancer, tumor was sought after. Methods: In 2012, retrospective analysis of, prevalence of cancer, tumor in 350 patients of 20 - 35 years, 35 - 50 years, >50 years age groups, from data collected by convenient, stratified random sampling, from different geographical locations, between 2002-2012 and its association with presence, absence of contraception, abortion was undertaken;simultaneously, serum estrogen levels obtained from 105 patients, were also analyzed. From 1983-2012 clinical practice, 212 patients treated for different types of neoplasm namely breast cancer, prostate cancer, cancer cervix and benign prostatic hyperplasia were randomly allotted to the above 3 age groups and the data were analyzed for association with contraception status and possible significance. Results: 6 fold increase in cancer incidence was seen in contraceptive users among >50 years with a p value of ntraception was associated with 4 - 7 fold increase in tumor prevalence among >35 - >50 years with a p value of ndogenous estrogen had decreased to ~5-8 pg in 61% of contraceptive users with a p value of ndogenous estrogen values up to ~0.4 pg were seen. Cholesterol deprived diet, due to decreased synthesis of endogenous estrogen:androgen also was associated with 50% increase in tumor, cancer in youth without contraception. Estrogen receptors were positive in well differentiated cancers of breast, associated with reduced levels of endogenous estrogen among contraceptive users, suggesting estrogen receptor positivity could be a compensatory phenomenon;anaplastic tumors did not exhibit estrogen receptor positivity. 10 - 20 fold increase in breast cancer was seen among 20 - >50 year

Software development in automotive industry has bestowed greater comforts and conveniences to mankind. A remarkable progress in this field often faces a setback due to minor defects in the software. So there is recurring need for standardization and implementation of testing strategies. But the process of creation of test scripts to check if the software created complies with its specifications and requirements is both time- and resource-consuming. Generating a short but effective test suite usually requires a lot of manual work and expert knowledge. Patronizing research work in this field is the need of the hour. This paper solves the problem by using Model-Based Testing where test harness and evaluation are performed economically through automation. Simulink Design Verifier and Reactis are the tools used to carry out this purpose in Adaptive Front Light System. The resulting outputs obtained from Simulink Design Verifier and Reactis using Model-Based Testing prove that short test suites can be generated for the model where full model coverage can be achieved easily through automation. The outputs of these test cases when compared with the expected outputs confirm that the model developed is working as per the requirements.

Growth, Crystal Structure and Characterization of a new Single Crystal: Lithium Sodium Acid Phthalate (LinaP), for Third Order nonlinear Optical Applications

A new alkali metallo-organic single crystal of Lithium Sodium Acid Phthlate (LinaP) complex has been synthesized from aqueous solution in the equimolar ratio 3:1:2. Transparent and bulk single crystals of dimension 9 × 4 ×2 mm3 have been grown from the conventional slow-cooling technique. The crystal structure of the compound has been solved from single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound 2[C8H4O3]4-Li3+na+ crystallizes in triclinic system with a space group of Pī having cell dimensions a = 7.5451(2) ? b = 9.8422(3) ? c = 25.2209(7) ? α = 80.299(2);β = 89.204(2);γ = 82.7770(10). FTIR measurement was carried out fo? LinaP to study the vibrational structure of the compound. The various functional groups present in the molecule and the role of H-bonds in stabilizing the crystal structure of the compound have been explained. Optical absorption properties were studied for the grown crystal using UV-Vis-nIR spectrum. Thermal measurements were carried out for LinaP to determine the thermal strength as well as to ascertain the hydrated nature of the crystal. Third order nonliner optical studies have also studied by Z-scan techniques. nonlinear absorption and nonlinear refractive index were found out and the third order bulk susceptibility of compound was also estimated. The results of all studies have been discussed in detail.

ITO nanoparticles were obtained by combustion reaction of urea as fuel. The gel form structures were fired at 350°C in furnace for 20 min to yield powdery products and these products were calcined to five different temperatures from 100°C to 500°C for an hour to yield ITO powders. From the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) photographs and particle size analysis the average sizes of the cubic particle of powders are found to be less than 15 nm and less than 20 nm respectively. The ratio of doping concentration In/Sn is 90/10 and 80/20. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) data were evaluated by Scherer equation for the estimation of the average crystal size of the powders (less than 20 nm) for 90/10 and (less than 25 nm) for 80/20. The synthesized ITO powder characterized by XRD, UV-Vis-nIR and PL shows high specific surface area and possesses small primary crystallite size and good optical band gap.

Identifying mechanisms and pathways involved in gene–environment interplay and phenotypic plasticity is a long-standing *** is highly desirable to establish an integrated framework with an environmental dimension for complex trait dissection and prediction.A critical step is to identify an environmental index that is both biologically relevant and estimable for new *** extensive field-observed complex traits,environmental profiles,and genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphisms for three major crops(maize,wheat,and oat),we demonstrated that identifying such an environmental index(i.e.,a combination of environmental parameter and growth window)enables genome-wide association studies and genomic selection of complex traits to be conducted with an explicit environmental ***,genes identified for two reaction-norm parameters(i.e.,intercept and slope)derived from flowering time values along the environmental index were less colocalized for a diverse maize panel than for wheat and oat breeding panels,agreeing with the different diversity levels and genetic constitutions of the *** addition,we showcased the usefulness of this framework for systematically forecasting the performance of diverse germplasm panels in new *** general framework and the companion CERIS-JGRA analytical package should facilitate biologically informed dissection of complex traits,enhanced performance prediction in breeding for future climates,and coordinated efforts to enrich our understanding of mechanisms underlying phenotypic variation.

We analyse the mixed convection flow in a cavity flow which is driven by buoyancy generated due to a non-uniformly heated top wall which is moving uniformly. A fourth order accurate finite difference scheme is used in this study and our code is first validated against available data in the literature. The results are obtained for different sets of Reynolds number Re, Prandtl number Pr and Grashof number Gr which are in the ranges 100 - 3000, 0.0152 - 10 and 102 - 106 respectively. Here Gr is related to the Richardson number according to Ri=Gr/Re2. While increasing the Richardson number, the growth of upstream secondary eddy (USE) is observed together with a degradation of downstream secondary eddy (DSE). When mixed convection is dominant, the upstream secondary eddy and the downstream secondary eddy merge to form a large recirculation region. When the effect of Pr is studied in the forced convection regime, Rin the central region of the cavity remains nearly a constant. However, in the mixed convection regime, the temperature in cavity undergoes non-monotonic changes. Finally, using the method of divided differences, it is shown that numerical accuracy of the derived numerical scheme used in this work is four.

Pure and Cadmium (Cd) doped Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CenPs) have been synthesised by the simple chemical co-precipitation technique. Cadmium ions of concentrations 1, 3 and 5 mol% were doped to investigate their influence on the structural and optical properties of CeO2. The synthesised samples have been subjected to X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The XRD and Raman patterns have witnessed the cubic structure of the cerium oxide nanoparticles. The average particle size of CeO2 was found to be around 10 nm. SEM image has also ascertained that the grain size of pure CeO2 appeared is bigger than that of the Cd-doped, which intern indicates the grain growth upon doping. Besides, the antibacterial activity of the cadmium doped cerium oxide nanoparticles against some human pathogens revealed that they have exhibited the maximum zone of inhibition against gram-positive bacteria than the gram-negative species. Further, the cytotoxic effect of Cd-doped CeO2 sample is examined in cultured (MCF-7, A549 and Hep-2) cell.

Optical, Structural and Morphological Properties of Photocatalytic ZnO Thin Films Deposited by Pray Pyrolysis Technique

Photocatalytic ZnO thin films have been deposited onto glass substrate by spray pyrolysis technique. The sprayed solution consists of 0.1 M of zinc acetate dihydrate dissolved in double distilled water and sprays onto ultrasonically cleaned glass substrates maintained at 350°C, through an air-atomizing nozzle. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), EDX and UV-VIS spectrophotometer were applied to describe the structural, morphological, compositional and optical properties of ZnO catalyst. XRD analysis confirms that the films were found to be single phase hexagonal wurtzite structure. The SEM micrograph of the films is shown highly uniform, crack free and found to be fiber like structures. The optical transmittance spectra of the ZnO thin films were found to be transparent to visible light and the average optical transmittance was greater than 85%. The direct optical band gap energy values of the films shift towards the lower energy as a consequence of the thermal annealing. The Urbach energy of the films was found to increase with annealing temperature. The refractive index of the films was calculated and the refractive index dispersion curve of the films obeys the single oscillator model. The values of oscillatory energy Eo, dispersion energy Ed, and static dielectric constant εs for the ZnO thin films were determined. The films were evaluated for their ability to degrade methylene blue. The Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetic model was used to interpret quantitatively the observed kinetic experimental result. The photocatalytic activity of ZnO thin films was enhanced by annealing temperature.
