Essential oils (EOs) seem to be more versatile and consist of a variety of volatile and organic biological active substances that are also employed as the better substitutes in the bacteria,fungal and various food *** researchers have done detailed research about the antibacterial property of essential oils and their respective *** several pioneering works in the past have explained the mode of action of some compounds,an extensive understanding of most of the substances and their molecular mechanisms is still *** particular,the bioactivity characteristics of EOs were evaluated by the main components found in *** components were commonly utilized in the applications of bactericidal,fungicidal,medicinal and antioxidant *** oils bioactivity can be contrasted with the behavior of pharmaceutical formulations which are produced ***,essential oils are showing promise organic extracts that require further analysis in the nutrition or pharmaceutical companies for potential applications as supplements,additives or *** of their diverse activities like antifungal and antibacterial characteristics,essential oils may be utilized as alternate additives to improve the grain and seed shelf *** review aims to provide a summary of existing information on the antibacterial and antifungal properties of EOs,their mechanism,and ingredients in identifying the areas of study that can promote the implementation in various bacterial and fungal properties.

Marine organisms have attracted special attention in the last three decades for their ability to produce interesting pharmacological active *** though all marine organisms have the potential to produce antimicrobial secondary metabolites,the gastropod has the vital sources of secondary metabolites particularly their egg capsule which has the promising antimicrobial secondary *** the present review,we intend to focus on marine secondary metabolites from marine gastropod egg *** following compounds *** C,Aplysianin E, Aplysianin A,Thisaplysianin E and Tyrian purple have been documented in egg capsule of various gastropod and most of the antimicrobial secondary metabolites have not been isolated from the egg capsule because of the odious,and complex chemical *** of the compounds is unknown.

Δ<i>I<sub>DDQ</sub></i>Testing of a CMOS Digital-to-Analog Converter Considering Process Variation Effects

In this paper, we present the implementation of a built-in current sensor (BICS) which takes into account the increased background current of defect-free circuits and the effects of process variation on ΔIDDQ testing of CMOS data converters. A 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is designed as the circuit under test (CUT). The BICS uses frequency as the output for fault detection in CUT. A fault is detected if it causes the output frequency to deviate more than ±10% from the reference frequency. The output frequencies of the BICS for various (MOSIS) model parameters are simulated to check for the effect of process variation on the frequency deviation. A set of eight faults simulating manufacturing defects in CMOS data converters are injected using fault-injection transistors and tested successfully.

Co-Gasification of Mesquite and Coal Blend in an Updraft Fixed Bed Gasifier

In order to reduce the emission of NOx, SOx, and CO2 and mitigate the dependence on the fossil fuel, the use of renewable energy, especially the biomass energy, has been explored. Since most biomass fuels are hard to grind to the very fine size, gasification is the preferred technology of energy conversion. Updraft fixed bed gasification using partial oxidation process is adopted where air less than the stoichiometric quantity is admitted to oxidize the char to CO. The temperature profile within the bed reveals a characteristic temperature peak. The results reveal a correlation between the higher heating value (HHV) of producer gas and the peak gasification temperature (Tpeak). Coal with higher char content (~45%) is blended with biomass of low char content (~20%) in order to produce high quality gas. In this study, the Texas-based mesquite fuel was blended with Wyoming Power River Basin (PRB) coal with mass ratios of 100:0, 90:10, and 80:20 and fired downward into the gasifier. It was found that at a given mesquite to the coal mass ratio, the peak gasification temperature decreased with the increase in ER. With the increase of the coal ratio in the mesquite: coal blend and the peak temperature increased significantly;more combustible gases such as CO, CH4 were generated at the end of product gas, and the HHV of the product gas increased by 10%-20%.
