Large-scale gridded population datasets are usually produced for the year of input census data using a top-down approach and projected backward and forward in time using national growth *** temporal projections do not include any subnational variation in population distribution trends and ignore changes in geographical covariates such as urban land cover *** predictions of population distribution changes over time require the use of a limited number of covariates that are time-invariant or temporally *** we make use of recently released multi-temporal high-resolution global settlement layers,historical census data and latest developments in population distribution modelling methods to reconstruct population distribution changes over 30 years across the Kenyan *** explore the methodological challenges associated with the production of gridded population distribution time-series in data-scarce countries and show that trade-offs have to be found between spatial and temporal resolutions when selecting the best modelling *** used to fill data gaps may vary according to the local context and the objective of the *** work will hopefully serve as a benchmark for future developments of population distribution time-series that are increasingly required for population-at-risk estimations and spatial modelling in various fields.

目的药品包装材料与药物相容性实验是评价药品包装材料安全性能与药品质量的重要研究项目,中性硼硅玻璃具有膨胀系数小、耐极冷极热性强、不易炸裂、化学稳定性好等特点,已成为注射剂包装的首选材质。探索中性硼硅玻璃与药物相容性的研究进展与发展趋势,为中性硼硅玻璃用于药品包装材料提供参考。方法分别从玻璃成分中金属离子向药液中的迁移量、有害物质的浸出量、不同温度与酸碱条件下玻璃的脱片、玻璃对药物的吸附以及药物对玻璃表面的侵蚀程度等方面综述中性硼硅玻璃与药物相容性的研究进展,考察中性硼硅玻璃对于药品质量的影响。结论中性硼硅玻璃与药物的相容性评价方法逐渐完善,为中性硼硅玻璃作为药用包装材料的研究提供参考。

X-ray diffraction(XRD)data acquisition and analysis is among the most time-consuming steps in the development cycle of novel thin-film *** propose a machine learning-enabled approach to predict crystallographic dimensionality and space group from a limited number of thin-film XRD *** overcome the scarce data problem intrinsic to novel materials development by coupling a supervised machine learning approach with a model-agnostic,physics-informed data augmentation strategy using simulated data from the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database(ICSD)and experimental *** a test case,115 thin-film metalhalides spanning three dimensionalities and seven space groups are synthesized and *** testing various algorithms,we develop and implement an all convolutional neural network,with cross-validated accuracies for dimensionality and space group classification of 93 and 89%,*** propose average class activation maps,computed from a global average pooling layer,to allow high model interpretability by human experimentalists,elucidating the root causes of ***,we systematically evaluate the maximum XRD pattern step size(data acquisition rate)before loss of predictive accuracy occurs,and determine it to be 0.16°2θ,which enables an XRD pattern to be obtained and classified in 5.5 min or less.

Construction industry is a major contributor of negative impact to the environment. Estimation of construction waste amount is crucial for implementing waste minimization program. Estimation of construction waste amount generated is a mean in assessing the potential for waste reduction. Decision-making should be based on quantified measurements expressed in numerical terms to effectively minimize waste produced. A better understanding of C&D waste generation in terms of causes and sources can be achieved. Lack of benchmarking will hinder the implementation of more sustainable practices in the industry. The aim of this paper is to establish benchmarks on construction waste generation rate in Klang Valley (greater Kuala Lumpur), Malaysia using appropriate waste quantification method. Nine projects in Klang Valley constructed between 2006-2010 have been selected for this study, which include residential and commercial building projects conducted by a wide range of contractors employing conventional and IBS systems. Wastage level and waste index approaches had been employed in this study as tools for quantifying waste and also for environmental assessment. Types of waste that generated at significant amount, such as concrete, timber, reinforcement bars, tiles, screeds, and plaster are considered. Other factors, such as waste management provision, Environmental Management System (EMS) employed, record-keeping, contractors’ profile and other related policies are also assessed by conducting interviews with construction personnel. Based on the findings, overall site-management, size of project, and awareness of waste management among construction personnel are the most significant factors that contribute to construction waste generation. Currently, there is still relatively lack of waste minimization awareness among construction players in Malaysia as reflected by poor waste record-keeping, lack of waste sorting and recycling practice, low usage of IBS systems, and lack of

Fear of crime varies considerably depending on its attitude towards environmental conditions. Sense of community and CPTED (crime prevention through environmental design) are believed to have an influence on fear of crime. This paper investigates the hypotheses of influences of CPTED on FOC (fear of crime) and SOC (sense of community). A total of 171 respondents from the designated residential areas were involved in this study. The structural equation modeling technique was employed and the results indicate that CPTED has a direct influence on fear of crime and sense of community. However, no significant relationship was found between SOC and FOC.
