Birds are a huge hazard to agriculture all around the world,causing harm to profitable field *** use a variety of techniques to keep them away,including visual,auditory,tactile,and olfactory deterrents. This study presents a comprehensive overview of current bird repellant approaches used in agricultural contexts,as well as potential new ways. The bird repellent techniques include Internet of Things technology,Deep Learning,Convolutional Neural Network,Unmanned Aerial Vehicles,Wireless Sensor Networks and Laser biotechnology. This study’s goal is to find and review about previous approach towards repellent of birds in the crop fields using various technologies.

Simultaneous determination of ezetimibe and simvastatin in rat plasma by stable-isotope dilution LC-ESI-MS/MS and its application to a pharmacokinetic study

A simple, sensitive and specific liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was developed for simultaneous quantification of ezetimibe and simvastatin in rat plasma. The deuterium isotopes： ezetimibe d4 and simvastatin d6 were used as internal standards for ezetimibe and simvastatin, respectively. MS/MS detection involved a switch of electron spray ionization mode from negative to positive at retention time 3.01 rain. Samples were extracted from plasma by liquid-liquid extraction using tertiary butyl methyl ether. Chromatographic separation was achieved with Agilent Eclipse XBD-CIs column using mobile phase that consisted of a mixture of ammonium acetate （pH4.5; 10 mM）-acetonitrile （25：75 v/v）. The method was linear and validated over the concentration range of 0.2--40.0 ng/rnL for simvastatin and 0.05-15.0 ng/mL for ezetimibe. The transitions selected were m/z 408.3→271.1 and m/z 412.0→275.10 for ezetimibe and ezetimibe d4, and m/z 419.30 → 285.20 and rrdz 425.40 →199.20 for simvastatin and simvastatin d6. Intra- and inter-batch precisions for ezetimibe were 1.6-14.8% and 2.1-13.4%; and for simvastatin 0.94-9.56% and 0.79-12%, respectively. The proposed method was sensitive, selective, precise and accurate for the quantification of ezetimibe and simvastatin simultaneously in rat plasma. The method was successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study by oral co-administration of ezetimibe and simvastatin in SD rats.

Staphylococcus aureus is a dangerous gram positive bacterial pathogen which, not only evades the host’s immune system but also can destroy the leucocytes especially neutrophils. It has an embodiment of virulence factors most of which are secreted. Staphylococcus aureus secretes a number of toxins which cause tissue damage and facilitate spreading and nutrients uptake. Among the toxins, hemolysins α, β, γ, δ and Panton Valentine Leukocidin (PVL) are unique that they drill pores in the membrane, leading to the efflux of vital molecules and metabolites. Hemolysins also help in the scavenging of iron, although many of them also have leucolytic properties. α-hemolysin, also known as α-toxin, is the most prominent cytotoxin which damages a wide range of host cells including epithelial cells, endothelial cells, erythrocytes, monocytes, keratinocytes and it damages cell membrane and induces apoptosis. β-Hemolysin significantly affects human immune cell function. It has Mg2+ dependent sphingomyelinase activity and degrades sphingomyelin of plasma membrane into phosphorylcholine and ceramides. The bi-component leukocidins, which include γ-hemolysin and PVL, attack human phagocytic cells and greatly contribute to immune evasion. Delta toxin is a low molecular weight exotoxin with a broad cytolytic activity. Virulence determinants, quorum sensing and biofilm synthesis provide some attractive targets for design and development of a new group of antimicrobial compounds. This review provides an update on the structure, biological functions of hemolysins and their role in quorum sensing/biofilm synthesis (if any) and as effective therapeutic targets for anti-virulence drug development. We have tried to bring together information available on various aspects of hemolysins and highlighted their distribution among all species of Staphylococcus and other bacteria. Phenotypic tests have limited discrimatory power to identify closely related members of genus Staphylococcus and particularly for identification of S. aureus. 157 isolates of S. aureus obtained from different clinical specimens were included in our study. To present a demonstration of our method’s sensitivity and ability to correctly detect S. aureus from uncultured clinical specimen, 30 known S. aureus positive but leftover uncultured clinical specimens from clinical microbiology laboratory were processed by our protocol and analyzed. All the 30 clinical specimens were confirmed as S. aureus among which 26 specimen were identified as MRSA and the remaining 4 as MSSA. These 30 clinical specimens used in the study showed 100% correlation with coagulase test and Cefoxitin disc diffusion method. Though commercial molecular diagnostic kits are available for detecting MRSA from swabs, this is probably the first time that multiplex PCR is being demonstrated directly on a variety of uncultured clinical specimens.

Deaths due to Tuberculosis （TB） are high among the TB-HIV co-infected patients. Among PLHIV most of the instances the sputum smear is found to be negative for MTb. Chest X-rays also don＇t yield much diagnostic value mainly due to the advanced immune suppressed condition. This study makes an attempt to find out the utility of alternate staining methods such as Light Emitting Diode （LED）, Fluorescent Microscopy （FM） and solid culture in resource limited settings for effective diagnosis of TB among PLHIV. 2 sputum samples were collected from 102 successive presumptive TB cases, whose smear microscopy and X-Ray were negative for MTb among PLHIVs visiting ICTC at MGM hospital, Warangal, Telangana State, India. All the 102 samples were repeated with ZN microscopy and X-ray. Additionally LED and FM microscopy procedures were conducted with the NALC-NAOH concentration method. All the samples were inoculated on LJ medium for solid culture and all the positive cultures were subjected for biochemical test to identify phenotypic appearance, nitrate reduction, niacin and PNB susceptibility test for all the first line anti TB drugs as per standard guidelines. Samples found positive on microscopy were cross checked with Line probe assay （LPA）. All the 102 samples collected showed negative for MTb on ZN technique and negative for pulmonary TB on chest X-rays. 15 samples were positive for MTb both on LED and FM. LPA reconfirmed the MTb in all the 15 samples tested with 11 sensitive for both INH and Rifampicin, 3 INH mono resistant and I Rifmono resistance patterns. Of the 102 inoculations in LJ medium, 25 culture inoculations were positive for MTb growth and also were confirmed as MTb strains based on morphological, biochemical test and growth was seen after 4th week of inoculation. Role of newer technologies in wound bed preparation in Fournier's gangrene

Fournier's gangrene or necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum scrotum and penis is a highly debilitating condition with a high mortality rate of 20% to 88% reported in the literature. Management is multimodal, and the importance of aggressive debridement, broad-spectrum antibiotics and intensive supportive care cannot be emphasised. The addition of newer modalities of ulcer/wound management like low level laser therapy, hydrojet debridement and platelet rich plasma can be used to augment the existing principles of management and reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with the condition. This article is the authors' experience with the condition and the above stated newer modalities in the management while staying true to the principles of management.

AIM: To compare breath-hold cartesian volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination(cVIBE) and freebreathing radial VIBE(rVIBE) and determine whether rVIBE could replace cVIBE in routine liver magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).METHODS: In this prospective study, 15 consecutive patients scheduled for routine MRI of the abdomen underwent pre- and post-contrast breath-hold cVIBE imaging(19 s acquisition time) and free-breathing rVIBE imaging(111 s acquisition time) on a 1.5T Siemens scanner. Three radiologists with 2, 4, and 8 years post-fellowship experience in abdominal imaging evaluated all images. The radiologists were blinded to the sequence types, which were presented in a random order for each patient. For each sequence, the radiologists scored the cVIBE and rVIBE images for liver edge sharpness, hepatic vessel clarity, presence of artifacts, lesion conspicuity, fat saturation, and overall image quality using a five-point scale. RESULTS: Compared to rVIBE, cVIBE yielded significantly(P < 0.001) higher scores for liver edge sharpness(mean score, 3.87 vs 3.37), hepatic-vessel clarity(3.71 vs 3.18), artifacts(3.74 vs 3.06), lesion conspicuity(3.81 vs 3.2), and overall image quality(3.91 vs 3.24). cVIBE and rVIBE did not significantly differ in quality of fat saturation(4.12 vs 4.03, P = 0.17). The inter-observer variability with respect to differences between rVIBE and cVIBE scores was close to zero compared to random error and inter-patient variation. Quality of rVIBE images was rated as acceptable for all parameters. CONCLUSION: rVIBE cannot replace cVIBE in routine liver MRI. At 1.5T, free-breathing rVIBE yields acceptable, although slightly inferior image quality compared to breath-hold cVIBE.
