Callosobruchus maculatus(Fabricius,1775)(Coleoptera:Bruchinae)is a destructive agricultural pest that is harmful to beans worldwide and an important quarantine pest in China.It was divided into two phenotypes based on polyphenism:normal and flight forms.In this study,we first compared the morphological structures of the compound eyes of the two forms.According to the results of scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),microcomputed tomography(micro-CT),and computer three-dimensional reconstruction,there are no differences in the structures of the compound eyes between the normal and flight forms except for the number of ommatidia.From the internal structure,the compound eyes have a biconvex cornea with open rhabdom and acone eye,crystalline cone directly connected with rhabdom,and no clear zone.It is a kind of apposition eye.Ommatidia facets range in shape from quadrilateral to hexagonal and some irregular shapes.On electroretinograms(ERGs),the normal and flight forms showed different spectral sensitivities:the normal form had the strongest response to ultraviolet light,whereas the flight form had the strongest response to white light.Behavioral assays revealed that the normal and flight forms showed completely opposite phototaxis behaviors;the flight form exhibited positive phototaxis,whereas the normal form exhibited negative phototaxis.This study not only enriches our knowledge on coleopteran compound eyes but also provides a foundation for in-depth research on the photoreceptor mechanisms of compound eyes,which may be useful in pest control management.

The genus Falsomesosella Pic,1925 currently includes two subgenera,with 36 species/subspecies described in the nominate subgenus(Tavakilian&Chevillotte,2021).Among them,10 species were recorded from China(Lin&Tavakilian,2019).Recently,Lazarev(2021)described the 37 th species from Shaanxi Province of China.However,it was based on four specimens of Falsomesosella truncatipennis Pic,1944,herein we propose the new synonym.

The extinct new species, Chresmoda chikuni Zhang ＆ ge, sp. nov. is described from the Mid-Cretaceous amber from northern Myanmar. This amber insect exhibits a very peculiar combination of derived characters like strongly elongated, free coxa, non-clawed pretarsus. The type specimens are deposited in the Three Gorges Entomological Museum, Chongqing, China.

在25℃贮藏条件下,以未涂膜的半干型风干牛肉为对照组,用1.5%壳聚糖、0.5%、1.0%、1.5%刺玫果提取物和1.0%2,6-二叔丁基对甲酚(butylated hydroxytoluene,BHT)复配涂膜的半干型风干牛肉为处理组,利用水分含量、色度、过氧化值、pH值、硫代巴比妥酸反应物(thiobarbituric reactive substances,TBARS)值、挥发性盐基氮(total volatile basic nitrogen,TVB-N)值、菌落总数表征半干型风干牛肉在贮藏第0,3,6,9,12天时的品质变化。结果表明,与对照组相比,涂膜处理组均能较好地保持半干型风干牛肉的贮藏品质,其中1.5%刺玫果提取物复配壳聚糖涂膜显著优于其他涂膜(P<0.05),可减缓半干型风干牛肉色泽褐变和水分损失,有效抑制微生物生长以及过氧化值、TBARS值和TVB-N值的上升。

A new genus with one new species and five new species of genus Amblomma of fossil ommatids are described and illustrated： Euryomma tylodes gen. et sp. nov., Amblomma cyclodonta sp. nov., Amblomma miniscula sp. nov., Amblomma porrecta sp. nov., Amblomma eumeura sp. nov., and Amblomma protensa sp. nov. All of them were collected from the Upper Jurassic or Lower Cretaceous Yixian Formation of western Liaoning, China. A key to the species of Amblomma is given. The wide epipleural space shows that Euryomma may be a primitive genus in Ommatidae. Many different species of Amblomma occurred within the same sedimentary horizon in this area could be environmental changes caused by frequent volcanic activities during the deposition of the Yixian Formation.

Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires,there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. In light of these challenges, all co-authors worked together on this paper to analyze the current situation of taxonomy and put out a joint call for immediate actions to advance taxonomy in China.

In this paper one new genus and one new species of fossil ommatid, Odontomma trachylaena gen. et sp. nov., is described and illustrated from the Late Jurassic or Early Cretaceous Yixian Formation of western Liaoning, China. Based on wide epipleural space of elytron with several rows of cells, the new taxa is attributed to tribe Brochocoleini of Ommatidae and compared with genus Bro-chocoleus. Due to the fact that most other Chinese Mesozoic ommatids are not complete, the complete preservation of the new specimens reported here enabled us to determine the characteristics of the body of these ancient ommatid. Moreover, based on the well-preserved individual of this new genus, we may suppose the affinities of the new species with extant and extinct groups.

磷酸盐功能化生物炭高效吸附U(Ⅵ)的研究

高温厌氧制备玉米芯生物炭,并利用植酸对其改性,获得富含官能团且孔隙率高的高效功能化生物炭复合材料磷酸盐功能化生物炭(IPCB)。以水中U(Ⅵ)为处理对象,探究IPCB对U(Ⅵ)的吸附能力和机制。实验结果表明,U(Ⅵ)初始浓度为10mg/L时,最佳吸附条件为30℃,pH=4,材料投加量0.8mg/L,120min后吸附达到平衡,此时U(Ⅵ)去除率达到95.9%。IPCB对U(Ⅵ)的吸附过程符合准二级动力学模型和Langmiur等温模型,以化学吸附为主;且4次吸附-解析实验后,U(Ⅵ)去除率仍然达到91.2%,说明IPCB可以重复利用。EDS和XPS等表征方法证明,植酸改性增加了玉米芯生物炭表面的磷酸基团;IPCB对U(Ⅵ)的吸附机制主要是配位作用和离子交换。
