Non-destructive Testing and Intelligent Evaluation of Road Structural Conditions using GPR and FWD

Aiming at the assessment of road structural conditions， a method of combining ground penetrating radar (GPR) and falling weight deflectometer (FWD) for assessing the pavement structural integrity and strength was proposed in this study. First， 3D GPR was performed to detect the thickness and internal distress of pavement structural layers using the canny edge detection and you only look once version eight (YOLOv8) detection algorithms. Results showed that the error of thickness extraction was approximately 3%， and the distress detection achieved a mean average precision (mAP) of 0.859 and an inference time of 11.43 ms with a GTX 1070 GPU. Then， the extracted thickness was used for the modulus (E) inversion of pavement structure layers based on FWD test data and regression analysis. Finally， the distress ratio inside pavement structures (DRIPS) was proposed as a structural integrity index. The relationship between E and DRIPS was revealed and showed a good correlation. The greater the DRIPS value， the worse the pavement structural integrity and strength. It provides a reference for the evaluation of road structural conditions. This strategy proved to be reliable for nondestructive testing and evaluation of road structures， which could improve the comprehensiveness and effectiveness for evaluating road structural conditions.

Background Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-targeted agents have significantly improved the outcomes of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer;however,a large proportion of patients still develop resistance to trastuzumab.In this study,we investigated the efficacy and safety of inetetamab,another anti-HER2 antibody,combined with pyrotinib and oral vinorelbine in patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer so as to provide new ideas for the treatment.Methods In this prospective,single-arm,phase 2 trial,patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer with disease progression after trastuzumab were recruited.Patients received a combination of inetetamab(loading dose of 8 mg/kg and subsequent doses of 6 mg/kg intravenously once every 3 weeks),pyrotinib(400 mg orally once daily),and vinorelbine(60 mg/m^(2)orally once weekly)until disease progression or intolerable toxicity.The primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).The secondary endpoints included objective response rate(ORR),overall survival(OS),disease control rate(DCR),and safety.Results Between February 13,2022 and December 25,2022,30 patients were screened and enrolled in this study.The median age of the patients at enrollment was 54 years,12 patients(40.0%)had hormone-receptor-positive disease and 23 patients(76.7%)had visceral metastasis.The median PFS was 8.63 months(95%confidence interval[CI]4.15-13.12 months).The median OS was not reached.The ORR was 53.3%(16/30)and the DCR was 96.7%(29/30).The most common Grade III/IV adverse events were leukopenia(n=5,16.7%),neutropenia(n=4,13.3%),and diarrhea(n=3,10%).No treatment-related serious adverse events or deaths occurred.Conclusions The combination regimen of inetetamab,pyrotinib,and oral vinorelbine showed encouraging efficacy and favorable safety in patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer and could be considered as an alternative treatment option for the patients.

Energy-saving windows play a crucial role in sustainable development of green buildings.Integrating super-insulating aerogels with glasses is an attractive method to minimize the energy loss through building windows.However,achieving energy-saving windows with high transparency,super insulation,mechanical robustness,low cost,and scalable aerogels remains a challenge.In a recent study published in Nature Energy,Smalyukh and coworkers synthesized a highly transparent silanized cellulose aerogel for energy-saving windows,overcoming the challenges.This work promotes the practical application of aerogel-based glazing and provides an effective way to save energy of buildings.

Taking role conflict as the starting point,this article examines and reflects on the development of clinical teachers.In the process of the occurrence,development,and resolution of role conflicts among clinical teachers,there are many hidden issues related to the development of clinical teachers.The development of clinical teacher teaching and role conflict management contain similar educational philosophies and practical issues.This study draws on classic theories and research achievements in the development of university teachers and conducts theoretical analysis and practical reflection on the development of clinical teachers in medical colleges from the perspective of role conflict in social psychology.Policy recommendations are proposed,including strengthening the construction of teaching systems at the hospital organizational environment level,enhancing the role identity and teacher beliefs of clinical teachers,promoting their teaching development and academic learning,and ensuring their normal teaching investment;promoting leadership support at the level of interpersonal interaction and leveraging the role of colleague support in alleviating role conflicts;enhancing individual teacher beliefs,teacher role learning,and role skills.

With the continuous expansion of medical student enrollment,the number of clinical teaching bases is gradually increasing.However,there are significant differences in clinical teaching management models and teaching levels among different bases.Most clinical teaching bases have incomplete teaching management systems,inadequate teaching management institutions,insufficient teaching personnel,and inadequate implementation of teaching rules and regulations.This article combines the construction practice of three-level clinical teaching base of the General Medicine College and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Medical University.We establish a standardized management system for the three-level clinical teaching base;implement a teaching supervision system and strengthen the monitoring of teaching quality;adopt multiple evaluations to test the effectiveness of clinical teaching implementation;explore the path of homogenization construction of teaching bases in terms of unified teacher training,promoting the development of teacher teaching abilities with equal quality and excellence,and providing a reference for improving the quality of medical talent training.

Phonons are the quantum mechanical descriptions of vibrational modes that manifest themselves in many physical properties of condensed matter systems. As the size of electronic devices continues to decrease below mean free paths of acoustic phonons, the engineering of phonon spectra at the nanoscale becomes an important topic. Phonon manipulation allows for active control and management of heat fow, enabling functions such as regulated heat transport. At the same time, phonon transmission, as a novel signal transmission method, holds great potential to revolutionize modern industry like microelectronics technology, and boasts wide-ranging applications. Unlike fermions such as electrons, polarity regulation is difficult to act on phonons as bosons, making the development of effective phonon modulation methods a daunting task.This work reviews the development of phonon engineering and strategies of phonon manipulation at different scales, reports the latest research progress of nanophononic devices such as thermal rectifiers, thermal transistors, thermal memories, and thermoelectric devices,and analyzes the phonon transport mechanisms involved. Lastly, we survey feasible perspectives and research directions of phonon engineering. Thermoelectric analogies, external field regulation, and acousto-optic co-optimization are expected to become future research hotspots.

Motivated by a duopoly game problem, the authors study an optimal control problem where the system is driven by Brownian motion and Poisson point process and has elephant memory for the control variable and the state variable. Firstly, the authors establish the unique solvability of an anticipated backward stochastic differential equation, derive a stochastic maximum principle,and prove a verification theorem for the aforementioned optimal control problem. Furthermore, the authors generalize these results to nonzero-sum stochastic differential game problems. Finally, the authors apply the theoretical results to the duopoly game problem and obtain the corresponding Nash equilibrium solution.

Pseudohypertrophic muscular dystrophy is a lethal X-linked recessive neuromuscular disorder caused by mutations in the dystrophin gene.This gene encodes a cytoskeletal protein that is extensively expressed in muscle cells and that enables the strength,stability,and functionality of myofibers.Muscular dystrophy can be grouped into two different categories based on the mutational rate and clinical severity,Duchenne muscular dystrophy(DMD)and Becker muscular dystrophy(BMD).DMD is the most common and the more severe type of dystrophy.DMD patients usually become wheelchair-bound by the age of 12 years and die in their late teens to early twenties.^(1)In contrast,BMD is relatively less severe and the patients can potentially have alonger lifeexpectancy.
