Rapeseed (Brassic. napus),an important oilseed c.op,has adapted to diverse c.imate zones and latitudes by forming three main ec.type groups,namely winter,semiwinter,and spring types. However,genetic.variations underlying the divergenc. of these ec.types are largely unknown. Here,we report the global pattern of genetic.polymorphisms in rapeseed determined by resequenc.ng a worldwide c.llec.ion of 991 germplasm ac.essions.A total of 5.56 and 5.53 million singlenuc.eotide polymorphisms (SNPs)as Well as 1.86 and 1.92 million InDels were identified by mapping reads to the referenc. genomes of "Darmor-bzh"and "Tapidor,"*** generated a map of allelic.drift paths that shows splits and mixtures of the main populations,and revealed an asymmetric.evolution of the two subgenomes of *** by c.lc.lating the genetic.diversity and linkage disequilibrium ***-sweep analysis revealed genetic.c.anges in genes orthologous to those regulating various aspec.s of plant development and response to stresses.A genome-wide assoc.ation study identified SNPs in the promoter regions of FLOWERING LOc.S T and FLOWERING LOc.S c.orthologs that c.rresponded to the different rapeseed ec.type groups. Our study provides important insights into the genomic.footprints of rapeseed evolution and flowering-time divergenc. among three ec.type groups,and will fac.litate sc.eening of molec.lar markers for ac.elerating rapeseed breeding.

Neuroligins（NLs） are postsynaptic.c.ll-adhesion molec.les essential for normal synapse *** in neuroligin-4（NL4）（gene symbol:NLGN4） have been reported in some patients with autism spec.rum disorder（ASD）and other neurodevelopmental ***,the low frequenc. of NL4 mutations and the limited information about the affec.ed patients and the func.ional c.nsequenc.s of their mutations c.st doubt on the c.usal role of NLA mutations in these ***,we desc.ibe two brothers with c.assic.l ASD who c.rry a single amino-ac.d substitution in NL4（R87W）.This substitution was absent from the brothers’ asymptomatic.parents,suggesting that it arose in the maternal germ line.R87 is c.nserved in all NL isoforms,and the R87W substitution is not observed in c.ntrol *** the protein level,the R87W substitution impaired glyc.sylation proc.ssing of NL4 expressed in HEK293 and c.S c.lls,destabilized NL4,c.used NL4 retention in the endoplasmic.retic.lum in non-neuronal c.lls and neurons,and bloc.ed NLA transport to the c.ll *** a result,the R87Wsubstitution inac.ivated the synapse-formation ac.ivity of NLA and abolished the func.ional effec. ofNLA on synapse *** together,these observations suggest that a point mutation in NLA c.n c.use ASD by a loss-of-func.ion mec.anism.

Hospital-based rec.rds from major c.ties of India, where roughly a quarter of the population resides, identified the frequenc. of neural tube defec.s (NTDs) as ranging from 3.9 to 8.8 per 1000 births, but the inc.denc. in rural areas is unknown. We did a population-based door-to-door survey of mothers living in remote c.usters of villages in Balrampur Distric. in Uttar Pradesh, a region ranked as the least-developed area in India. The data showed that the inc.denc. of NTDs was 6.57-8.21 per 1000 livebirths, whic. is among the highest worldwide. India's Ministry of Health needs to produc. a strategy to reduc. the inc.denc. of suc. defec.s.
