This work constitutes the first contribution for the systematisation of geological heritage knowledge in portugal, following the international recommendations for the characterisation of geological heritage （IUGS, proGEO）. The application of the proGEO methodology has resulted in the creation of fourteen frameworks with international relevance, established by consensus among the portuguese geological community. The description of each category in this paper is not exhaustive and only the most relevant scientific settings are presented. The following are the three key outcomes of this work： i） At a national level, the most important geosites are identified, indicating where geoconservation efforts should be prioritised based on scientific justification; ii） At a regional level, conditions have been developed to foster dialogue with Spanish colleagues in order to create Iberian frameworks; iii） At an international level, it is now possible to integrate portuguese geosites into the global inventories promoted by IUGS, UNEScO, and proGEO.

Lymphoepithelioma-like hepatocellular carcinoma(LELHcc) is a rare form of undifferentiated carcinoma of the liver characterized by the presence of an abundant lymphoid infiltrate. Here,a case of LEL-Hcc is described. An 81-year-old woman with a chronic hepatitis c infection was referred to the general surgery department of our hospital in August 2013 with a diagnosis of Hcc. A past ultrasound examination had revealed a 60 mm-diameter nodular lesion in the third segment of the liver. After a needle biopsy,the lesion was diagnosed as Hcc. The patient underwent surgery with a liver segmentectomy. Two additional nodes on the gastric wall were detected during the surgical operation. The histology of the removed specimen showed a poorly differentiated Hcc with significant lymphoid stroma. Immunohistochemical studies revealed that the epithelial component was reactive for cK cAM5.2,cK8,cK18,cEA(polyclonal) and was focally positive for hepar-1 and that the lymphoid infiltrate was positive for cD3,cD4 and cD8. The tumor cells were negative for Epstein-Barr virus. The gastric nodes were ultimately determined to be two small gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs).The synchronous occurrence of Hcc and GIST is another very uncommon finding rarely described in the literature. Here,we report the clinicopathological features of our case,along with a review of the few cases present in the literature.

Aim:to analyze the significance of RTI Tier 2 metaphonological and alphabetic principle program for Brazilian schoolchildren at risk for ***:a bibliographic review was carried out in the Scielo and pubmed databases using the descriptors“intervention studies”,“reading”,“dyslexia”,and“learning”in portuguese and English for the elaboration of RTI Tier 2 metaphonological and alphabetic principle program for schoolchildren at risk for *** program was designed based on the selection of strategies for metaphonological skills,knowledge of the alphabet,and grapheme-phoneme correspondence described in national and international *** stimuli(real words)and visual stimuli(pictures)were selected to be used in the intervention program *** stimuli were selected from a word bank according to length,regularity,and *** intervention program designed was composed of the following skills:letter-sound knowledge,syllable knowledge,syllabic segmentation,phonemic segmentation,syllabic addition,phonemic addition,syllabic subtraction,phonemic subtraction,syllabic substitution,phonemic substitution,syllabic combination,and phonemic *** program was structured with collective strategies and was applied in small groups of four to five schoolchildren aged six years and 11 months to seven years and 11 months in 50-minute ***:The results revealed that there was a change in the response pattern,showing better performance in the skills of the Early Identification of Reading problems protocol,demonstrating significance and positive change in post-testing situations when compared to ***:the program developed in this study proved to be effective and,in this way,it can be used as an intervention instrument based on scientific evidence that helps in the acquisition of skills necessary for the development of reading.

反射测量可用于对作物的水分状况进行快速而经济的评估。该研究以土壤最大持水量为标准,设65%、52%、39%、32.5%、26%和19.5%共6个水处理水平。小麦叶片光反射的测量用数码相机进行,测量结果用L*a*b*颜色系统进行评估和分析。在该三维系统中,参数a*和b*分别描述绿/红和蓝/黄颜色的比例,参数L*用来描述颜色的浅淡。结果表明,随水胁迫加剧,小麦叶片光反射参数a*(绿/红)和/或b*(蓝/黄)在9个特定波段表现出有规律的增加,植株含水率与光反射参数b*之间呈线性负相关关系,其中与510~780nm波段的光反射参数b*之间的决定系数r2最大,达到0.95。因此光反射测量可以作为小麦水分状况测量的一个重要工具。

Terrestrial ecosystems represent a major sink for atmospheric carbon(c) and temperate forests play an important role in global c cycling, contributing to lower atmospheric carbon dioxide(cO2) concentration through photosynthesis. The Intergovernmental panel of climate change highlights that the forestry sector has great potential to decrease atmospheric cO2concentration compared to other sectoral mitigation activities. The aim of this study was to evaluate cO2sequestration(cO2S)capability of Fag us sylvatica(beech) growing in the Orfento Valley within Majella National park(Abruzzo,Italy). We compared F. sylvatica areas subjected to thinning(one high-forest and one coppice) and no-management areas(two high-forests and two coppices). The results show a mean cO2S of 44.3 ± 2.6 Mg cO2ha-1a-1,corresponding to 12.1 ± 0.7 Mg c ha-1a-1the no-managed areas having a 28% higher value than the managed areas. The results highlight that thinning that allows seed regeneration can support traditional management practices such as civic use in some areas while no management should be carried out in the reserve in order to give priority to the objective of conservation and naturalistic improvement of the forest heritage.

Uptake of prostate cancer screening and associated factors among chinese men aged 50 or more: a population-based survey

Objective: To investigate the uptake rate of prostate specific antigen(pSA) testing among Hong Kong chinese males aged 50 or above, and identify factors associated with the likelihood of undergoing a pSA ***: A population-based telephone survey was conducted in Hong Kong in 2007. The survey covered demographic information, perceived health status, use of complementary therapy, cancer screening behavior, perceived susceptibility to cancer and family history of cancer. Descriptive statistics, percentages and logistic regression analysis were used for data ***: A total of 1,002 men aged 50 or above took part in the study(response rate =67%), and the uptake rate of pSA testing was found to be 10%. Employment status, use of complementary therapy, perceiving regular visits to a doctor as good for health and the recommendations of health professionals were significant factors associated with pSA ***: The uptake rate of pSA testing in the study population was very low. Among all the factors identified, recommendations from health professionals had the strongest association with the uptake of pSA testing, and they should therefore take an active role in educating this population about cancer prevention and detection.

citizen Science(cS)is a prominent field of application for Open Science(OS),and the two have strong synergies,such as:advocating for the data and metadata generated through science to be made publicly available[1];supporting more equitable collaboration between different types of scientists and citizens;and facilitating knowledge transfer to a wider range of audiences[2].While primarily targeted at cS,the *** platform can also support *** of its key functions is to act as a knowledge hub to aggregate,disseminate and promote experience and know-how;for example,by profiling cS projects and collecting tools,resources and training materials relevant to both *** do this,the platform has developed an information architecture that incorporates the public participation in scientific research(ppSR)-common conceptual Model.This model consists of the project Metadata Model,the Dataset Metadata Model and the Observation Data Model,which were specifically developed for cS *** implementing these,the platform will strengthen the interoperating arrangements that exist between other,similar platforms(e.g.,Biocollect and SciStarter)to ensure that cS and OS continue to grow globally in terms of participants,impact and fields of application.

Lasioderma serricorne is known to be pest of tobacco, besides of attacking other products in storage. Anisopteromalus calandrae is an ectoparasitoid of coleopteran larvae also parasitizing the tobacco beetle. This study was aimed to evaluate the parasitism of A. calandrae on different densities of L. serricorne larvae grown in different diets and photoperiods, and to record the longevity and reproductive potential of A. calandrae. Individuals of L. serricorne were raised in three diets: wheat flour (F);wheat flour and brewer’s yeast (FY) and wheat flour and dried tobacco (FT). Different amounts of host larvae (10, 20, 50 and 100) for each diet were exposed to a couple of parasitoids. The same larval densities from diet F were exposed for 24 h to a couple of adult parasitoids maintained in three photoperiods (0:24, 12:12 and 24:0 - scotophase: photophase). The highest values of apparent parasitism were in the density of 50 larvae in the FY diet (96.34%) and 100 F (92.91%). There was no significant difference in the parameters in each photoperiod in all larval densities. However, the treatment in which hosts and parasitoids always remained in scotophase, was the one that had a significantly higher sex ratio. Females had longer longevity than males surviving for up to 25 days. On the fourth day of larvae exposure occurred, the maximum number of offspring generated. It is inferred that A. calandrae has potential to be used as a control agent for coleopterans that attack stored products.

The present study aims to demonstrate the chemical composition of the ethanolic extract of Sarcomphalus joazeiro bark and to evaluate its antibacterial and antibiofilm *** that,the ethanolic extract of the stem bark was prepared,and chemical characterization was carried out in *** inhibitory concentration and antibiotic modification test were performed by the microdilution *** and antiformation assays were evaluated by the crystal violet *** the chemical characterization,the presence of 24 peaks was *** activity showed minimum inhibitory concentration≥2048μg/*** the evaluations of the potentiating activity,synergism was the most *** the formation analysis,it was observed that most strains showed moderate biofilm *** was concluded that saponin derivatives are the major secondary metabolites in the analyzed extract and that it presents relevant synergism with the antibiotics studied and a significant ability to inhibit bacterial biofilm formation.
