It is largely unknown whether lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)or acute retention of urine(AROU)is linked to shorter life expectancy in *** conducted a multicenter,retrospective database analysis of patients undergoing transurethral resection of prostate(TURP)to study their *** Cox regression analysis and Kaplan-Meier analysis with stratification to age and indication of TURP were *** further performed an age-and sex-matched survival analysis with the general population using data from the Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(Hong Kong,China).From January 2002 to December 2012,3496 patients undergoing TURP were included in our study,with 1764 patients in the LUTS group and 1732 patients in the AROU *** age,ischemic heart disease,cerebrovascular accident,and AROU were risk factors of *** aged80 *** to the general population,younger patients in the LUTS group appeared to have better survival(80 years,survival was similar with the general population in both the LUTS and AROU *** conclusion,AROU at young age was associated with mortality,while early detection and management of LUTS may improve survival.

Background A prior study showed aimed to evaluate and compare the transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate Methods A prospective randomized significant antibiotic resistance to quinolone in our population. In this study we efficacy of a single versus a combined prophylactic antibiotic regimen before biopsy （TRUGPB）. study was conducted at a university hospital. Patients undergoing TRUGPB were randomized into an amoxicillin-clavulanate alone （1 mg; one dose before and two doses after biopsy） or an amoxicillin-clavulanate ＋ ciprofloxacin group （250 mg; one dose before and two doses after biopsy）. Patients were surveyed for infection symptoms by phone on days 3 and 30 after TRUGPB. We defined an infective complication as the occurrence of symptoms including fever, chills or rigor within 30 days after prostate biopsy, requiring medical treatment or hospitalization, aided by a territory-wide electronic medical record system. Results Between November 2007 and July 2009, 367 patients were randomized to either amoxicillin-clavulanate alone or amoxicillin-clavulanate ＋ ciprofloxacin group. The infection rates after TRUGPB were 3.91% in the former group （7 out of 179 patients） versus 0.53% （1 out of 188 patients） in the latter. Sixty-three percent （5/8） of patients with infective complications needed hospitalization. There was no intensive care unit admission or mortality during the study period. Conclusions Combining prophylactic antibiotics with amoxicillin-clavulanate ＋ ciprofloxacin significantly reduced the incidence of infective complications after TRUGPB. We recommended a combination regimen, especially in centre with high incidence of post-TRUGPB infection.

We investigated the association of time to prostate-specific antigen nadir （TTPN） and logarithm of prostate-specific antigen velocity after progression Log（PSAVAP） in metastatic prostate cancer with prior primary androgen deprivation therapy （ADT）. All metastatic prostate cancer patients treated with primary ADT from 2000 to 2009 were reviewed. Patients who developed disease progression were included in the subsequent analyses. Patients were categorized into three groups according to their TTPN： TTPN of 〈3 months, 3-17 months, and 〉17 months. We compared the Log（PSAVAP） between the different TTPN groups using Mann-Whitney U-test and Kruskal-Wallis test. Further multiple linear regression analyses on Log（PSAVAP） were performed to adjust for other potential confounding factors. Among 419 patients who were treated with primary ADT, 306 patients developed disease progression with a median follow-up of 28 months, Longer TTPN was associated with lower Log（PSAVAP）（P = 0.008） within all subgroup analyses （TTPN of 〈3 vs 3-17 months, P = 0.020; TTPN of 3-17 vs 〉17 months, P = 0.009; and TTPN of 〈3 vs 〉17 months, P = 0.001）. Upon multiple linear regression analyses, baseline PSA （regression coefficient 0.001, P = 0.045）, PSA nadir （regression coefficient 0.002, P = 0.040）, and TTPN （regression coefficient -0.030, P = 0.001） were the three factors that were significantly associated with Log（PSAVAP）. In conclusion, a longer TTPN was associated with lower Log（PSAVAP） in metastatic prostate cancer patients following primary ADT. TTPN cut-offs at 3 months and 17 months appeared to have prognostic significance in predicting Log（PSAVAP）. TTPN may serve as a good prognostic indicator in deciding the treatment strategy in patients with disease progression.

The influences of total ionizing dose （TID） on the single event effect （see） sensitivity of 34-nm and 25-nm NAND flash memories are investigated in this paper. The increase in the cross section of heavy-ion single event upset （SEU） in memories that have ever been exposed to TID is observed, which is attributed to the combination of the threshold voltage shifts induced by 7-rays and heavy ions. Retention errors in floating gate （FG） cells after heavy ion irradiation are observed. Moreover, the cross section of retention error increases if the memory has ever been exposed to TID. This effect is more evident at a low linear energy transfer （LET） value. The underlying mechanism is identified as the combination of the defects induced by 7-rays and heavy ions, which increases the possibility to constitute a multi-trap assisted tunneling （m- TAT） path across the tunnel oxide.

A Fast Defects Location Method in ICT Images Based on Block Fractal Dimension

Non-destructive testing （NDT） has been widely used in many fields, we can easily see it is being used in shipbuilding, aerospace, weapons manufacturing and so on. ICT is one of the best non destructive testing methods currently, but it has not been used widely, because it requires much compute and costs much time. Defect location is one of the most important processing steps in the digital image analysis. Defect location would correspondingly reduce the time spent in the testing. We may only require locating the defects in some case. So, we divide the CT images into several little blocks which the square is equal, and then calculate the fractal on each block. By determining the value and connected region number of the fractal dimension, we can locate defects of the image. The results show that the block ffactal dimension is a useful and time-saving defect location method.

Decoding brain responses to pixelized images in the primary visual cortex: implications for visual cortical prostheses

Visual cortical prostheses have the potential to restore partial vision. Still limited by the low-resolution visual percepts provided by visual cortical prostheses, implant wearers can currently only ＂see＂ pixelized images, and how to obtain the specific brain responses to different pixelized images in the primary visual cortex（the implant area） is still unknown. We conducted a functional magnetic resonance imaging experiment on normal human participants to investigate the brain activation patterns in response to 18 different pixelized images. There were 100 voxels in the brain activation pattern that were selected from the primary visual cortex, and voxel size was 4 mm × 4 mm × 4 mm. Multi-voxel pattern analysis was used to test if these 18 different brain activation patterns were specific. We chose a Linear Support Vector Machine（LSVM） as the classifier in this study. The results showed that the classification accuracies of different brain activation patterns were significantly above chance level, which suggests that the classifier can successfully distinguish the brain activation patterns. Our results suggest that the specific brain activation patterns to different pixelized images can be obtained in the primary visual cortex using a 4 mm × 4 mm × 4 mm voxel size and a 100-voxel pattern.

通过对法学界关于法理学与部门法学关系研究图谱的类型化爬梳可以看出,对于"法理学与部门法学是何关系"这一问题的回答,之所以出现等级指导型、等级互促型、平等互促型、单向批判型、开放存疑型等不同答案,是因为法学界尚未形成讨论"法理学与部门法学是何关系"这一问题的前提性共识——何谓法理学,最终造成了法理学的单一语词表达与内涵理解的多元分歧之尴尬局面。理论法理学与工程法理学二元划分的出场重构了回答这一问题的前提性共识,从宏观上消解了法理学内部的分歧,同时又保留了法理学的多元可能。理论法理学面向的是思想本身,其注重的是纯粹思想本身的演绎与推理,并未追求实践可适用的效果;而工程法理学则以实践需求为导引,把法律实践的适用作为自身的指归。理论法理学通过思想启蒙的作用机制对部门法学产生间接的意义,而工程法理学则通过直接知识适用的方式对部门法学产生直接的功用效益。在此境遇下,部门法学对法理学不能再抱有传统的机械整体式的一元功用期待,而是对理论法理学和工程法理学理应给予不同的角色期待。

同源重组过程由重组酶介导,对维持细胞的遗传稳定性有极大的作用.链交换是同源重组的关键过程,研究链交换发生的基本步长对理解整个反应机制有着重要的作用.RecA作为原核生物重组酶的重要成员,近年来持续受到广泛关注,但RecA介导的同源重组链交换的步长目前还有争议.现在主流的观点认为链交换步长为3 bp,而我们的前期工作测得步长的最可几值为9 bp.为了进一步验证我们的结论,进而为更深层次的机理研究提供基础,本文采用酶切保护实验和单分子磁镊,配合使用不同的错配碱基序列从侧面验证了链交换步长不为3 bp,而更倾向于9 bp,并分析了一个步长内的错配碱基数目和分布对链交换进程的影响.该结论为进一步探索重组酶工作的分子机理提供了基础和新的思路.
