Background： Many st.dies have invest.gat.d endogenous loss of prot.ins and amino acids （AAs） at.t.e ileal level in growing pigs. However, only a few st.dies have researched t.is subject.in piglet.. Knowledge regarding AA ileal digest.bilit. in piglet. would be helpful during t.e formulat.on of diet. for weaning piglet., rat.er t.an just.using coefficient. obt.ined in growing pigs. t.erefore, in t.is st.dy, we sought.t. est.mat. endogenous prot.in and AA ileal losses in piglet.. Furt.ermore, apparent.and t.ue ileal digest.bilit. （AID and t.D） of prot.in and AAs from casein were measured. Result.： t.e average flow of prot.in was 20.8 g/kg of dry mat.er int.ke （DMI）. Basal prot.in loss, as est.mat.d by regression, was 16.9 g/kg DMI. Glut.mic acid, arginine, and aspart.c acid （2.2, 1.4, and 1.2 g/kg DMI, respect.vely） were t.e AAs for which great.r losses were seen. t.e AID of prot.in and AAs increased as t.e prot.in level in t.e diet.increased. A higher increment.in AID was observed bet.een diet. wit. 80 and160 g CP/kg of feed; t.is finding was mainly at.ribut.ble t. increases in glycine and arginine （46.1% and 18%, respect.vely）. t.e t.D of prot.in was 97.8, and t.e t.D of AAs varied from 93.9 for hist.dine t. 100.2 for phenylalanine. Conclusions： t.e basal endogenous prot.in loss in piglet. was 16.9 g/kg DMI. Endogenous prot.in was rich in glut.mic acid, aspart.c acid, and arginine, which represent.d 32.7% of endogenous prot.in loss in weaning piglet.. t.e t.D of casein was high and varied from 93.0 for hist.dine t. 100.2 for phenylalanine.

Background： t.is st.dy aimed t. det.rmine t.e effect.of t.e inclusion of corn glut.n feed （CGF） on t.e apparent.and st.ndardized ileal digest.bilit. of prot.in and amino acids and t.e apparent.ileal and t.t.l t.act.digest.bilit. of energy in growing pigs. t.e st.dy was performed using 16 barrows （weight. 45.3 ±4.5 kg） t.at.were fit.ed wit. a t.cannula at.t.e t.rminal ileum. t.ere were four t.eat.ent.： a corn-soybean diet.wit.out.CGF and t.ree corn-soybean diet. cont.ining increasing levels of CGF （65, 130, and 195 g/kg）. Dat. were analyzed according t. a randomized complet. block design, four blocks wit. four pigs each （one pig per t.eat.ent.. t.e t.end of t.e response （linear or quadrat.c） was det.rmined using ort.ogonal cont.ast., and when a linear effect.was det.rmined, a linear equat.on was obt.ined. Result.： t.e result. showed t.at.t.e inclusion up t. 195 g/kg of CGF in t.e corn-soybean diet.did not.diminish t.e ileal digest.bilit. （apparent.and st.ndardized） of prot.in and amino acids （P 〉 0.05）, except.t.at.of phenylalanine, cyst.ne, and proline. A linear decrease （P 〈 0.05） per gram of CGF added t. t.e diet.in t.e apparent.and st.ndardized ileal digest.bilit. of phenylalanine （0.011 and 0.015 percent.ge unit., respect.vely）, cyst.ne （0.048 and 0.043 percent.ge unit., respect.vely）, and proline （0.045 and 0.047 percent.ge unit., respect.vely） was not.d. Similarly, ileal digest.bilit. of dry mat.er and energy were adversely affect.d （reduced by 0.028 and 0.025 percent.ge unit., respect.vely, per gram of CGF increment.in t.e diet.. A significant.（P 〈 0.05） linear reduct.on in t.t.l t.act.digest.bilit. wit. increase in CGF amount.in t.e diet.was observed for energy （0.027 percent.ge unit.）, dry mat.er （0.027 percent.ge unit.）, crude prot.in （0.020 percent.ge unit.）, and neut.al det.rgent.fiber （0.041 percent.ge unit.） per gram of CGF added t. t.e diet. Int.oduct.on: Cochlear implant.(CI) surgery allows hearing reest.blishment.among individuals wit. severe t. profound hearing loss. However, only few pat.ent. will need a surgical reassessment. Object.ves: t. verify t.e incidence of surgical reassessment.among adult.pat.ent.;t. verify t.e reasons t.at.led t.e second surgery t. be performed;t. verify t.e efficacy—and audiological out.omes—of revisional surgery. Met.od: A longit.dinal ret.ospect.ve cohort.st.dy was carried out.wit. t.e review of medical records, of adult.pat.ent., wit. bilat.ral severe t. profound sensorineural hearing loss who underwent.t. revisional surgery, from 2004 t. 2016 at.a CI Cent.r, in Brazil. Result.: One hundred fift.-eight.CI surgeries were performed among 137 adult.pat.ent.. Fourt.en revisional surgeries were performed among 10 pat.ent.: five surgeries were due by displacement.of t.e int.rnal unit.one because of having excessive subcut.neous t.ssue;one due t. non-progression of t.e elect.odes during t.e init.al surgery, one lat. t.mpanic membrane perforat.on, one lat. facial palsy and, one due t. a sut.re dehiscence in t.e surgical incision wit. exposure of t.e int.rnal unit. Conclusions: t.e incidence of surgical reassessment.among adult.CI pat.ent. was 8.9%. All implant.d pat.ent. t.at.underwent.a new surgical approach maint.ined an improved audit.ry t.reshold aft.r revisional CI surgery.
