Pancreatic adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is one of the most deadly cancers,characterized by extremely limited therapeutic options and a poor prognosis,as it is often diagnosed during late disease *** and selective treatments are urgently needed,since current therapies have limited efficacy and significant side *** proteomics analysis of extracellular vesicles,we discovered an imbalanced distribution of amino acids secreted by PDAC tumor *** findings revealed that PDAC cells preferentially excrete proteins with certain preferential amino acids,including isoleucine and histidine,via extracellular *** amino acids are associated with disease progression and can be targeted to elicit selective toxicity to PDAC tumor *** in vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that supplementation with these specific amino acids effectively eradicated PDAC ***,we also identified XRN1 as a potential target for these amino *** high selectivity of this treatment method allows for specific targeting of tumor metabolism with very low toxicity to normal ***,we found this treatment approach is easy-to-administer and with sustained tumor-killing ***,our findings reveal that exocytosed amino acids may serve as therapeutic targets for designing treatments of intractable PDAC and potentially offer alternative treatments for other types of cancers.

Carboniferous Alaskan-type complex along the Sino–Mongolian boundary,southern margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt

We present zircon ages and geochemical data for the Hongshishan Carboniferous Alaskan-type mafic–ultramafic complex exposed in the Beishan area along the Sino–Mongolian boundary, southern margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt. This complex mainly consists of dunite,harzburgite, lherzolite, wehrlite, and gabbro, which intrudes Early Carboniferous volcanic rocks and reveals a zoned structure. Zircons of a gabbro sample yielded a 206Pb/238 U age of 357 ± 4 Ma, reflecting the time of Early Carboniferous magmatism. Zircon ages were also obtained for an andesite(322 ± 3 Ma) and a basaltic andesite(304 ± 2 Ma).High initial nd isotope whole-rock values suggest that the Hongshishan gabbro [e_(nd(t))= +9.6-+10.2] and basalt[end(t)= +10.0-+10.8] were derived from a depleted mantle source. Slightly lower end(t)values for the ultramafic rocks [end(t)= +8.5-+8.7] suggest some interaction of the parental magma with the continental crust. In contrast, the Late Carboniferous Quershan samples in this area represent subduction-related arc volcanic rocks with Adakite-like compositions. The early Carboniferous Hongshishan Alaskan-type complex was interpreted to represent the remnants of a magma chamber that crystallized at the base of a mature island arc, whereas the Quershan island arc volcanic rockssuggest the resurrection of the subduction process after arccontinent collision and uplift of the roots of the arc.

Staphylinoidea(Insecta:Coleoptera)is one of the most species-rich groups in animals,but its huge diversity can hardly be explained by the popular hypothesis(co-radiation with angiosperms)that applies to phytophagous *** estimated the evolutionary mode of staphylinoid beetles and investigated the relationship between the evolutionary mode and palaeoclimate change,and thus the factors underlying the current biodiversity pattern of staphylinoid *** results demonstrate that staphylinoid beetles originated at around the Triassic-Jurassic bound and the current higher level clades underwent rapid evolution(indicated by increased diversification rate and decreased body size disparity)in the Jurassic and in the Cenozoic,both with low-energy climate,and they evolved much slower during the Cretaceous with high-energy *** factors,especially low 02 and high C02,promoted the diversification rate and among-clade body size disparification in the *** the Cenozoic,however,climate factors had negative associations with diversification rate but little with body size *** present study does not support the explosion of staphylinoid beetles as a direct outcome of the Cretaceous Terrestrial Revolution(KTR).We suppose that occupying and diversifying in refuge niches associated with litter may elucidate rapid radiations of staphylinoid beetles in low-energy conditions.

Eastern Ancient Terrane of the North China Craton

Based on the spatial distribution of ancient rocks and zircons, three ancient terranes older than ca. 2.6 Ga have recently been identified in the North China Craton, namely the Eastern, Southern, and Central Ancient Terranes. The Eastern Ancient Terrane is the best studied and understood of the three ancient terranes. It has a long geological history back to ca. 3.8 Ga ago and includes the areas of Anshan-Benxi, eastern Hebei, eastern Shandong and western Shandong. In Anshan-Benxi, several different types of 3.8 Ga rocks were discovered together with 3.1-3.7 Ga rocks, whereas 2.9-3.0 Ga K-rich granites and 2.5 Ga syenogranite occur on larger scales. In eastern Hebei, 3.0-3.4 Ga rocks and older detrital and xenocrystic zircons were identified. In eastern Shandong, there are a large volumes of 2.7 Ga and 2.9 Ga rocks. In western Shandong, early Neoarchean （2.6-2.7 Ga） intrusive and supracrustal rocks are widely distributed. Whole-rock nd and zircon Hf isotope data suggest that both mantle additions and crustal recycling played important roles within the Eastern Ancient Terrane during almost every tectono-magmatic event. Most BIFs in the North China Craton are late Neoarchean in age and are distributed on continental crust along the western margin of the Eastern Ancient Terrane, probably suggesting that a stable environment was one of the key factors for the formation of large-scale BIFs.

Extraction of selected rare earth elements from anthracite acid mine drainage using supercritical CO2 via coagulation and complexation

Rare earth elements(REEs)are valuable raw materials which are in great demand in modern high technology *** methods to produce/recover REEs from waste is significant to the national security of any developed *** study was focused on investigating the use of supercritical CO2(sCO2)to extract REEs from anthracite acid mine drainage(AMD).Four different mine drainage water source locations at Blaschak Coal *** Pennsylvania,USA were selected for sample *** extraction process was developed and demonstrated for two of those water sources containing the highest concentration of REEs.A method involving metal ion coagulation,their dissolution from the sludge into a concentrated aqueous HNO3 solution,complexation with organic ligands and sCO2 extraction was developed to recover REEs from ***,sodium aluminate(NaAlO2)was used as the coagulant to concentrate REEs from the AMD into a solid ***,over 99%of the REEs in AMD is concentrated in the remaining *** the coagulation process,the effects of pH and NaAlO2 concentration on REE precipitation were *** nitric acid(HNO3)was used to digest the pre-concentrated sludge and tributyl phosphate(TBP)was used to form REE/TBP/HNO3,a non-polar complex with selected REEs,specifically,cerium(Ce),lanthanum(La)and neodymium(nd).HNO3 concentration and organic/aqueous phase ratio were considered as the variables to improve complexation *** extraction experiments using sCO2 and REE/TBP/HNO3 solutions were then conducted at optimal conditions of 60℃and 20 *** overall REE extraction efficiencies are found to increase with the atomic number of the *** a result,the average overall REE extraction efficiencies of 41.8%,40.1%and 58.2%for Ce,La and nd,respectively,are *** potential improvements in the overall extraction efficiency are also discussed.

目的在个体化营养和运动指导的前提下,比较达英-35和达英-35联合二甲双胍治疗多囊卵巢综合征（polycystic ovarian syndrome,PCOS）的疗效,为PCOS患者的规范化管理和治疗提供理论依据。方法将确诊为PCOS的患者60例采用数字随机表法随机分为达英-35治疗组和达英-35联合二甲双胍治疗组,每组各30例。在入组时根据静息能量消耗测定及体成分运动功能测定等,给予患者个体化营养运动指导。两组患者均服用达英-35 3个周期,联合用药组加服二甲双胍片3个月,1日2次,1次500 mg。分别在治疗前后测量身高、体质量、腰围、臀围、全身脂肪含量;进行痤疮评分、多毛评分;于月经2-5 d空腹测定卵泡刺激素、黄体生成素、睾酮、血糖、血脂、胰岛素等。结果 1治疗3个月后,达英-35治疗组和达英-35联合二甲双胍治疗组的体质量指数、痤疮评分、黄体生成素、睾酮,高密度脂蛋白胆固醇升高,差异具有统计学意义;多毛评分稍有下降,差异无统计学意义;总胆固醇、三酰甘油升高,差异无统计学意义。2治疗3个月后,联合用药组全身脂肪含量、空腹血糖、胰岛素抵抗指数下降,差异有统计学意义。3治疗3个月后,达英-35治疗组空腹血糖升高,空腹胰岛素降低,差异无统计学意义。4体质量指数、空腹血糖的变化在两组之间差异有统计学意义,其余各指标在两组间的差异均无统计学意义。结论在个体化营养和运动指导的前提下应用达英-35或达英-35联合二甲双胍干预3个周期均能有效降低血清睾酮质量浓度,改善痤疮症状,但尚不足以改善多毛症状。达英-35联合二甲双胍能降低PCOS患者脂肪含量,改善血糖血脂代谢,单用达英-35并不恶化PCOS患者的糖脂代谢状态。
