Objective: In our previous study, we found a new mixed formula of Chinese herbs containingShin-yi-san + Xiao-qing-long-tang + Xiang-sha-liu-jun-zi-tang (9 + 3 + 3g devided in three doses/day) wasbeneficial to the patients with perennial allergic rhinitis (AR) via complicated immunomodulatory effects onboth mononuclear cells (MNC) and polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) In the present study, we furtherdetermined the effects of nasal fluid from AR patients on the functions of human PMN before and aftertreatment with the mixed formula.

Objective: In this study, we treated patients with perennial allergic rhinitis allergic to house dust mitesby a new mixing formula composing of three Chinese traditional medicines;Shin-yi-san,Xiao-qing-long-tang, and Xiang-sha-liu-jun-zi-tang at a ratio of 3:1:1. The rationale for using the mixedformula therapy in AR based on the long-term experience that Shin-yi-san is effective in the treatment ofnasal obstruction and rhinorrhea;Xiao-qing-long-tang is effective in the treatment of chronic cough andasthma;and Xiang-sha-liu-jun-zi-tang is effective in preventing recurrent respiratory tract infection. Dynamic Gain-Clamped Amplifier with Backward-Injection of a Fabry-Perot Laser

We have been experimentally demonstrated an active control technique of dynamic gain-clamped spectra for theerbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA's) by a backward-injected Fabry-Perot (F-P) laser into this EDFA. In addition, employing a short length erbium-doped fiber (EDF) that not cause any gain saturation for preamplification in front of this amplifier module, it can reduce the noise figure degradation and simultaneously achieve gain variation from 11.1 dB to 0.5 dB for 10 dB input power level change.

Density of Helicobacterpylorimay affect the efficacy of eradication therapy and ulcer healing in patients with active duodenal ulcers

AIM: To evaluate the association of pre-treatment Helicobacter pylon(H, pylon) density with bacterial eradication and ulcer healing rates in patients with active duodenal ulcer. METHODS: One hundred and four consecutive duodenal ulcer outpatients with H. py/ori infection ascertained by gastric histopathology and 13C-urea breath test (UBT) were enrolled in this study. H. py/ori density was graded histologically according to the Sydney system (normal, mild, moderate, and marked). In each patient, lansoprazole (30mg b.i.d.), clarithromycin (500 mg b.i.d.) and amoxicillin (1g b.i.d.) were used for i week, then 30 mg lansoprazole once daily was continued for an additional 3 weeks. Followup endoscopy was performed at 4 weeks after completion of the therapy, and UBT was done at 4 and 8 weeks after completion of the therapy. RESULTS: The H. pylori eradication rates were 88.9 %/100.0 %, 94.3 %/100.0 %, and 69.7 %/85.2 %; and the ulcer healing rates were 88.9 %/100.0 %, 94.3 %/100.0 %,and 63.6 %/77.8 % (intention-to-treat/per protocol analysis) in the mild, moderate, and marked H. pyloridensity groups, respectively. The association of pretreatment H. pyloriderisity with the eradication rate and ulcer healing rate was both statistically significant (P=-0.013/0.006 and 0.002/<0.001, respectively; using results of intention-to-treat/per protocol analysis).CONCLUSION: Intragastric bacterial load may affect both the outcome of eradication treatment and ulcer healing in patients with active duodenal ulcer disease.

目的:不孕症患者的比例逐年升高,近年中医治疗逐渐普遍且广为患者接受。此研究目的为分析不孕症患者之中医用药规律,以供临床参考。方法:回溯分析台湾长庚医院北院区2004年至2014年间,治疗不孕症之中医处方治则及用药。结果:所有中药处方中,最常使用的药物种类为补益剂(49.08%),其次为和解剂(19.73%)、理血剂(14.42%)。最常使用的方剂及单味药分别为左归丸(17.75%)和香附(7.87%)。结论:不孕症患者主要病机为肾虚、肝郁、血瘀,因而相应使用治疗药物以补肾、疏肝、理血为主。
