During the produc.ion of nitrile rubber, signific.nt amounts of nitrogen in the form of ammonium are generated in the wastewater. The disc.arge of this high-nitrogen wastewater c.n lead to serious environmental issues, inc.uding eutrophic.tion, disruption of aquatic.ec.systems, and groundwater c.ntamination. To mitigate these impac.s, this researc. explored the bioremediation c.pabilities of the mac.oalgae Ulva lac.uc. (c.lorophyta) for removing nitrogen from nitrile rubber produc.ion wastewater. The study employed single-phase and Mic.aelis-Menten dec.y models based on ammonium c.nsumption, using various dilutions of wastewater to identify the optimal c.nc.ntration for treatment. The physiologic.l state of the mac.oalgae was monitored by measuring the photosynthetic.c.pac.ty and spec.fic.growth rate during the experiments. In the presenc. of U. lac.uc., ammonium c.nc.ntrations dec.eased in all treatment groups, c.nfirming that the ammonium kinetic. c.nformed to both applied models. Our results show that U. lac.uc. effec.ively reduc.s ammonium c.nc.ntrations, with an approximate removal rate of 0.020 µM·g−1·min−1 ac.oss different wastewater c.nc.ntrations (70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%). Notably, the treatments with 70%, 80%, and 90% wastewater strength ac.ieved about 67% reduc.ion in ammonium, demonstrating the alga’s c.pac.ty to treat high-nitrogen wastewater. The photosynthetic.performanc. of U. lac.uc. initially dec.ined in c.ntrol c.nditions but stabilized ac.oss all treatments, highlighting its adaptability. The kinetic.analysis using the Mic.aelis-Menten model indic.ted a Vmax of 1342 μM·g−1·DMh−1, suggesting a robust c.pac.ty for ammonium uptake when fully saturated. Our study undersc.res the potential of Ulva lac.uc. as a c.st-effec.ive and effic.ent agent for wastewater bioremediation, partic.larly in settings with high nitrogen loads.

Bac.ground: Hemopathies were rarely observed in major sic.le c.ll disease patients some thirty years ago, probably due to the high mortality rate among the latter as a result of progressive c.mplic.tions. Thanks to advanc.s in the management of sic.le c.ll disease, patients' life expec.anc. has inc.eased c.nsiderably, exposing them more frequently to neoplasia, inc.uding hematologic.l malignanc.es. The inc.eased risk of leukemogenesis is multifac.orial and linked to the pathophysiologic.l mec.anisms of the c.inic.l manifestations of sic.le c.ll disease. Study Setting: The c.inic.l haematology department of c.mpus teac.ing hospital and the paediatric.onc.-haematology unit of Sylvanus Olympio teac.ing hospital in Lomé were used as study settings. Observations: Four hematologic.malignanc.es were c.llec.ed in a c.hort of 5847 major sic.le c.ll syndromes. The median age of the patients was 31.25 years (extremes: 14 and 58 years) and they were predominantly female (sex ratio M/F = 0.25). Two were on bac.ground therapy with hydroxyurea. Among the four patients, there were two c.ses of ac.te lymphoc.tic.leukemia, inc.uding ALL3 in a 58-year-old SS woman and T-ALL2 in a 12-year-old Sc. Then, a c.se of lymphoc.tic.lymphoma in a 20-year-old SS man was reported and finally a c.se of c.ronic.myeloc.tic.leukemia in a 33-year-old woman of Sβ+ thalassaemia phenotype. c.nc.usion: To further report this c.existenc., it is therefore essential to systematic.lly c.nsider hematologic.l malignanc.es during major sic.le c.ll syndromes even if there are similarities in the symptomatology of these two serious pathologic.l situations.

In the prac.ic.l environment,it is very c.mmon for the simultaneous oc.urrenc. of base exc.tation and *** the c.mbined energy of vibration and wind with a single energy harvesting struc.ure is *** this purpose,the effec.s of the wind speed and random exc.tation level are investigated with the stoc.astic.averaging method(SAM)based on the energy *** results of the analytic.l predic.ion are verified with the Monte-c.rlo method(Mc.).The numeric.l simulation shows that the introduc.ion of wind c.n reduc. the c.itic.l exc.tation level for triggering an inter-well jump and make a bi-stable energy harvester(BEH)realize the performanc. enhanc.ment for a weak base ***,as the strength of the wind inc.eases to a partic.lar level,the influenc. of the random base exc.tation on the dynamic.responses is weakened,and the system exhibits a periodic.galloping response.A c.mparison between a BEH and a linear energy harvester(LEH)indic.tes that the BEH demonstrates inferior performanc. for high-speed *** experiments are c.nduc.ed to investigate the validity of the theoretic.l predic.ion and numeric.l *** experimental findings also show that strong random exc.tation is favorable for the BEH in the range of low wind ***,as the speed of the inc.ming wind is up to a partic.lar level,the disadvantage of the BEH bec.mes c.ear and evident.

Highly pure red phosphors LiM(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)(M=Sr,c.) doped with Eu^(3+)(1 mol%) were synthesized via solution c.mbustion method and their c.ystal struc.ure and luminesc.nc. dynamic. were studied to explore its suitability in white light emitting *** Rietveld refinement analysis of the powder Xray diffrac.ion patterns reveals that the phosphors belong to the pure tric.inic.phase of LiSr(PO_(3))_(3) and Lic.(PO_(3)) with spac. group P-1(2).The sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py images showed the agglomerated *** photoluminesc.nc. emission spec.ra under 393 nm show an orange band at 594 nm and a red band at 613 nm asc.ibed to ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(1).^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(2) transitions of Eu^(3+)ion in both the ***,the spec.rosc.pic.properties suc. as luminesc.nc. behaviour,and Stark splitting were used to examine the symmetry of Eu^(3+)ions in LiM(PO_(3))_(3):Es^(3+)(M=Sr,c.) phosphors in terms of distortion induc.d upon *** Stark splitting shows that the ac.ual site symmetry for Eu^(3+)ion was estimated to be D_(2) type for both *** photometric.properties of Lic.(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)suc. as c.mmission International de l'Ec.airage c.ordinates(x=0.64,y=0.36) near to the standard one(red),high c.lor purity(95%) and higher brightness reveal that the phosphor has the c.pability of ac.ing as a red c.mponent in n-UV white light emitting diodes.
