Temperature difference and Stack Plate Spacing Effects on Thermodynamic Performances of Standing-Wave Thermoacoustic Engines driven by Cryogenic Liquids and Waste Heat

The standing-wave thermoacoustic engines(TAE)are applied in practice to convert thermal power into acoustic one to generate electricity or to drive cooling *** there is a number of existing numerical researches that provides a design tool for predicting standing-wave TAE performances,few existing works that compare TAE driven by cryogenic liquids and waste heat,and optimize its performance by varying the stack plate *** present work is primarily concerned with the numerical investigation of the performance of TAEs driven by cryogenic liquids and waste *** this,three-dimensional(3-d)standing-wave TAE models are ***-and time-independence studies are conducted *** validations are then performed by comparing with the numerical results available in the *** validated model is then applied to simulate the standing-wave TAEs driven by the cryogenic liquids and the waste heat,as the temperature gradientΔT is *** is found that limit cycle oscillations in both systems are successfully generated and the oscillations amplitude is increased with increasedΔ*** is identified with acoustic streaming and the flow reversal occurring through the *** studied are then conducted between the cryogenic liquid-driven TAE and that driven by waste heat in the presence of the same temperature gradientΔ*** is shown that the limit cycle frequency of the cryogenic liquid system is 4.72%smaller and the critical temperatureΔT_(cri)=131 K is lower than that of the waste heat system(ΔT_(cri)=187 K).Furthermore,the acoustic power is increased by 31%and the energy conversion efficiency is found to increase by 0.42%.Finally,optimization studies on the stack plate spacing are conducted in TAE system driven by cryogenic *** is found that the limit cycle oscillation frequency is increased with the decreased ratio between the stack plate spacing and the heat penetration *** the ratio is set to between 2 and

Because linseed oil may influence maternal and fetal metabolisms, we investigated its role in the modulation of lipid metabolism in cafeteria diet-induced obese rats and their offspring. Female Wistar rats were fed control or cafeteria food, which were either supplemented or not supplemented with linseed oil （5%） for I month before and during gestation. At parturition, serum and tissue lipids and enzyme activities were analyzed. Cafeteria diet induced adverse metabolic alterations in both mothers and offspring. Linseed oil improved metabolic status. In conclusion, linseed oil displayed health benefits by modulating tissue enzyme activities in both obese mothers and their newborns.

An application of 1d convolution and deep learning to remote sensing modelling of Secchi depth in the northern Adriatic Sea

This paper presents a novel approach for predicting the water quality indicator-Secchi disk depth(Z_(Sd)).Z_(Sd)indirectly reflects water clarity and serves as a proxy for other quality *** study utilizes deep Neural Network(dNN)trained on satellite remote sensing and measured data from three sources:two datasets obtained from official agencies in Croatia and Slovenia,and one citizen science data source,all covering the northern coastal region of the Adriatic *** proposed model uses 1d Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)in the spectral dimension to predict Z_(Sd).The model’s performance indicates a strong fit to the observed data,proving capability of 1d-CNN to capture changes in water *** the test dataset,the model achieved a high R-squared value of 0.890,a low root mean squared error(RMSE)of 0.023 and mean absolute error(MAE)of *** results demonstrate that employing a 1d-CNN in the spectral dimension of Sentinel-3 OLCI data is an effective approach for predicting water *** findings have significant implications for monitoring Z_(Sd)in coastal *** integrating diverse data sources and leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms,a more accurate and comprehensive assessment of water quality can be achieved.

Obesity, one of the most common health problems, is associated with glucose and lipid metabolism abnormalities, increased cardiovascular risk and oxidative stressI1}. Aging is also associated with an increase in oxidative stress[2]. Considering that older adults are already at risk for oxidant stress, the additional metabolic perturbations of obesity aggravated the susceptibility to oxidant stress. Modulating age-related oxidative stress via dietary interventions could reduce free radical production and significantly improve health in aging.

Several applications of Origami have been tested in industrial area. However, Origami based design is found only in lamp shade and wrapping in design area, and has not been practically applied especially in clothing. In this paper, the conical truss model is applied in the clothing skirt, and the simulation software from 2d to 3d is developed by parametric Origami module （POM）. Finally, the pattern is copied on felt clothing, and the scaled model of skirt on the basis of conical reverse truss model design is made.

This manuscript presents the comprehensive study of thickness stretching effects on the free vibration,static stability and bending of multilayer functionally graded(FG)carbon nanotubes reinforced composite(CNTRC)*** nanoscale and microstructure influences are considered through a modified nonlocal strain gradient continuum *** on power-law functions,four different patterns of CNTs distribution are considered in this analysis,a uniform distribution Ud,FG-V CNTRC,FG-X CNTRC,and FG-O CNTRC.A 3d kinematic shear deformation theory is proposed to include the stretching influence,which is neglected in classical ***'s principle is applied to derive the governing equations of motion and associated boundary *** solutions are developed based on Galerkin method to solve the governing equilibrium equations based on the generalized higher-order shear deformation theory and the nonlocal strain gradient theory and get the static bending,buckling loads,and natural frequencies of *** with previous works is presented.A detailed parametric analysis is carried out to highlight the impact of thickness stretching,length scale parameter(nonlocal),material scale parameter(gradient),CNTs distribution pattern,geometry of the plate,various boundary conditions and the total number of layers on the stresses,deformation,critical buckling loads and vibration *** new results are also reported in the current study,which will serve as a benchmark for future research.

Prediction of Thermal Conductivity and Specific Heat of Native Maize Starch and Comparison with HMT Treated Starch

Specific heat(Cp)and effective thermal conductivity(λ)of native maize starch(NS)were measured by dSC and transient heat transfer method,respectively,at different moisture contents and *** dependency of temperature(T)and moisture content(W)on the two parameters were *** thermophysical properties of treated starch(TS)by four hydrothermal processes(RP-HMT,IV-HMT,dV-HMT and FV-HMT)were measured and compared to native *** treatments were performed at 3 bars(133°C)for 10 *** Cp andλmeasurements,moisture content varied for NS from 5 to 21.5%*** from 8.8 to 25%d.b.,respectively,and was fixed at 6%*** *** models were developed to specific heat and effective thermal conductivity,using a multiple regression algorithm with subsequent statistical *** proposed models for NS based on T and W predict Cp andλwith a mean absolute error of 3.5%and 1.3%,*** differences in specific heat were observed between TS and *** a temperature range of 40 to 160°C,Cp values varied from 1.964 to 2.699 for NS and 1.380 to 2.085(J.g-1.°C-1)for *** contrast,the conductivity of NS was almost identical to that of treated starch by FV-HMT,followed in an increasing order by those treated by dV-HMT,RP-HMT,and IV-HM processes.

The chemical preparation, crystal structure and infrared spectroscopic characterization of the triaqua（4-amino-6-methoxypyrimidine） cuprate（II） sulfate, [Cu（C5H7N3）（H2O）3]SO4, is reported. The compound crystallizes in the noncentrosymmetric orthorhombic space group P212121 with lattice parameters a = 7.9025（3）, b = 11.1189（4）, c = 12.9720（4） , V = 1139.81（7） ~3 and Z = 4. The Cu（II） cation is fivecoordinated, in an early half-way between square pyramidal and trigonal bipyramidal fashion, by two nitrogen atoms of the 4-amino-6-methoxypyrimidine ligand and three water oxygen atoms. In the atomic arrangement, the organic ligands and the 5-connected Cu centers are linked with each other to give a 1-d corrugated hybrid chain running along the b-axis direction. The chains are interconnected by the SO4^（2-） anions via O–H...O, O–H...S, C–H...O and N–H...O hydrogen bonds to form layers spreading parallel to the（011） plane. The vibrational absorption bands were identified by infrared spectroscopy. Quantitative measurements of the second harmonic generation（SHG） of a powdered sample at 1064 nm were performed and a relative efficiency of 5.2 times the KdP standard was observed. Magnetic properties were also defined to characterize the complex. Magnetic measurements revealed that this material had a onedimensional antiferromagnetic character. The magnetic parameters were g = 2.11 and 2J/k B = -36 K.

BACKGROUNd Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma(AITL)is a peripheral T-cell lymphoma,which is a rare subtype of *** with AITL often have skin lesions,which are observed in 50%of all cases;the chief complaint of this patient was palpable *** often complicates autoimmune or hematological disorders;however,among these,pure red cell aplasia(PRCA)is a very rare complication of *** herein report a case of AITL with *** SUMMARY A 77-year-old Japanese man presented to our hospital with complaints of loss of appetite for 2 mo and a 10-d history of palpable *** physical examination,the patient was afebrile but had bilateral multiple palpable purpuric lesions over the lower extremities,lower abdomen,and part of the upper ***,lymphadenopathy of the bilateral inguinal,cervical,and supraclavicular nodes was *** and imaging studies and skin biopsy were conducted but were *** on inguinal lymph node excisional biopsy,we diagnosed the patient with ***,the patient developed progressive normocytic normochromic anemia that necessitated almost daily blood *** clinical presentations and results of bone marrow assessment were consistent with those of PRCA,which is associated with *** was initiated but was not *** patient refused further chemotherapy and opted to continue receiving best supportive *** PRCA is an extremely rare complication of *** the pathophysiology remains unclear,further research is warranted.

AIM To determine if exacerbation of pre-existing chronic colitis in Winnie(Muc2 mutant) mice induces colonic *** Winnie mice and C57BL6 as a genotype control, were administered 1% w/v dextran sulphate sodium(dSS) orally, followed by drinking water alone in weeklong cycles for a total of three cycles. After the third cycle, mice were killed and colonic tissue collected for histological and immunohistochemical evaluation. Inflammation and severity of dysplasia in the colonic mucosa were assessed in H&E sections of the colon. Epithelial cell proliferation was assessed using Ki67 and aberrant β-catenin signalling assessed with enzyme-based immunohistochemistry. Extracted RNA from colonic segments was used for the analysis of gene expression using real-time quantitative PCR. Finally, the distribution of Cxcl5 was visualised using *** Compared to controls, Winnie mice exposed to three cycles of dSS displayed inflammation mostly confined to the distal-mid colon with extensive mucosal hyperplasia and regenerative atypia resembling epithelial dysplasia. dysplasia-like changes were observed in 100% of Winnie mice exposed to dSS, with 55% of these animals displaying changes similar to high-grade dysplasia, whereas high-grade changes were absent in wild-type mice. Occasional penetration of the muscularis mucosae by atypical crypts was observed in 27% of Winnie mice after dSS. Atypical crypts however displayed no evidence of oncogenic nuclear β-catenin accumulation, regardless of histological severity. Expression of Cav1, Trp53 was differentially regulated in the distal colon of Winnie relative to wild-type mice. Expression of Myc and Ccl5 was increased by dSS treatment in Winnie only. Furthermore, increased Ccl5 expression correlated with increased complexity in abnormal crypts. While no overall difference in Cxcl5 mucosal expression was observed between treatment groups, epithelial Cxcl5 protein appeared to be diminished in the atypical e
