Development and evaluation of an online monitoring single-particle optical particle counter with polarization detection

We developed a single-particle optical particle counter with polarization detection(SOPC)for the real-time measurement of the optical size and depolarization ratio(defined as the ratio of the vertical component to the parallel component of backward scattering)of atmospheric particles,the polarization ratio(DR)value can reflect the irregularity of the *** SOPC can detect aerosol particles with size larger than 500 nm and the maximum particle count rate reaches~1.8×10^(5)particles per *** SOPC uses a modulated polarization laser to measure the optical size of particles according to forward scattering signal and the DR value of the particles by backward S and P signal *** sampling rate of the SOPC was 106#/(sec·channel),and all the raw data were processed *** calibration curve was obtained by polystyrene latex spheres with sizes of 0.5-10μm,and the average relative deviation of measurement was 3.96% for sub 3μm particles.T-matrix method calculations showed that the DR value of backscatter light at 120°could describe the variations in the aspect ratio of particles in the above size *** performed insitu observations for the evaluation of the SOPC,the mass concentration constructed by the SOPC showed good agreement with the PM_(2.5)measurements in a nearby state-controlled monitoring *** instrument could provide useful data for source appointment and regulations against air pollution.

Preparation and characteristic study of Schottky diodes based on Ga_(2)O_(3)thin films

This study uses atomic layer deposition(ALD)to grow Ga_(2)O_(3)films on siO_(2)substrates and investigates the influence of film thickness and annealing temperature on film *** diode devices are fabricated based on the grown Ga_(2)O_(3)films,and the effects of annealing temperature,electrode size,and electrode spacing on the electrical characteristics of the devices are *** results show that as the film thickness increases,the breakdown voltage of the fabricated devices also increases.A Schottky diode with a thickness of 240 nm can achieve a reverse breakdown voltage of 300 *** film quality significantly improves as the annealing temperature of the film *** a voltage of 5 V,the current of the film annealed at 900℃is 64 times that of the film annealed at 700℃.The optimum annealing temperature for Ohmic contact electrodes is 450℃.At 550℃,the Ohmic contact metal tends to burn,and the performance of the device is *** the electrode spacing increases the forward current of the device but decreases the reverse breakdown *** the Schottky contact electrode size increases the forward current,but the change is not significant,and there is no significant change in the reverse breakdown *** device also performs well at high temperatures,with a reverse breakdown voltage of 220 V at 125℃.

Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm (PNEN) is the second most common malignant tumor of the pancreas. It has the characteristic of high metastases rate, and the liver is the most common site for metastasis. Metastasis affects prognosis and survival seriously. A number of earlier studies have shown that the interventional therapy via hepatic artery could reduce hepatic tumor burden and hormone secretion safely and rapidly, significantly improve objective response rate (ORR), and enhance the efficacy and prolong the survival time when combined with system therapy. The interventional therapy via hepatic artery plays an important role in the treatment of PNEN liver metastases. Interventional therapy via hepatic artery could possibly increase ORR, prolong progression-free survival, and even overall survival for appropriate patients.

Nanoelectrodes have been shown to be powerful tools for nanoscopic research on single entities,deepening the understanding of heterogeneity and stochastics for single molecules,nanoparticles and cells[1–3].However,despite their importance,current nanoelectrode preparations are highly restrained to flame/electrochemical etching,metal sputtering,electrochemical deposition,etc.[3],resulting in a limited range of materials(mainly gold,platinum and carbon)for potential-resolved detection of redox-active species(Table S1 online).The enrichment of preparation methods to introduce novel materials and mechanisms should prove significant for the development of nanoelectrodes.

Artificially controlling the solid-state precipitation in aluminum (Al) alloys is an efficient way to achieve well-performed properties,and the microalloying strategy is the most frequently adopted method for such a *** this paper,recent advances in lengthscale-dependent scandium (Sc) microalloying effects in Al-Cu model alloys are *** coarse-grained Al-Cu alloys,the Sc-aided Cu/Sc/vacancies complexes that act as heterogeneous nuclei and Sc segregation at the θ′-Al_(2)Cu/matrix interface that reduces interfacial energy contribute significantly to θ′*** grain size refinement to the fine/ultrafine-grained scale,the strongly bonded Cu/Sc/vacancies complexes inhibit Cu and vacancy diffusing toward grain boundaries,promoting the desired intragranular θ′*** nanocrystalline scale,the applied high strain producing high-density vacancies results in the formation of a large quantity of (Cu Sc,vacancy)-rich atomic complexes with high thermal stability,outstandingly improving the strength/ductility synergy and preventing the intractable low-temperature *** review recommends the use of microalloying technology to modify the precipitation behaviors toward better combined mechanical properties and thermal stability in Al alloys.
