Improved photocatalytic performance of acetaldehyde degradation via crystal plane regulation on truncated octahedral CeO_(2)

In this study,the truncated octahedral CeO_(2)(CeO_(2)-to)with special morphology was prepared by the solvothermal method with oleic acid(OA)and oleamine(OM)as the morphology-directing ***-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM)results show that CeO_(2)-to exposes composite{100}and{111}facets,while CeO_(2)cubic(CeO_(2)-c)and CeO_(2)octahedral(CeO_(2)-o)only expose single crystal facets of{100}plane and{111}plane,***,this CeO_(2)-to photocatalyst exhibits remarkable photooxidation performance of gaseous acetaldehyde(CH_(3)CHO)degradation,in which CO_(2)generation value reaches 1.78 and 7.97-times greater than that of CeO_(2)-c and CeO_(2)-o,*** addition,the active species trapping experiment signifies that superoxide(·O_(2)^(-))and holes(h^(+))are the main reactive substances during the CH_(3)CHO degradation process,and the electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)spectra indicates that the former is the major ***,the electron transfer mechanism between CeO_(2)-to{100}and{111}facets and the surface oxygen adsorption ability are revealed via density functional theory(DFT)*** is also confirmed that{100}facets are more conducive to the absorption of acetaldehyde than{111}***,a reasonable mechanism for improved photocatalytic CH_(3)CHO degradation on CeO_(2)-to is proposed based on relevant experiments and DFT *** study demonstrates that the systematic development of surface homojunction structured photocatalysts can efficiently increase the degradation activity for volatile organic compounds(VOCs).It also offers additional direction for optimizing the photocatalytic activity of other ceriumbased photocatalysts.

Asynchronization in Changes of Electrophysiology and Pathology of Spinal Cord Motor Neurons in Rats Following Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion

Background： Motor dysfunction is common in stroke patients. Clinical electrophysiological studies suggest that transsynaptic degeneration occurred in the lower motor neurons, while pathological evidence is lacked. This study aimed to combine the electrophysiological and pathological results to prove the existence of transsynaptic degeneration in the motor system after stroke. Methods： Modified neurologic severity score, electrophysiological, and pathological assessments were evaluated in rats before middle cerebral artery occlusion （MCAO）, and at 24 hours, 7 days, and 14 days after MCAO. Paired and independent-sample t-tests were applied to assess the changes of electrophysiological and pathological data. Results： Compound motor action potential amplitude in the paretic side was significantly lower than the nonparetic side at both 24 hours （61.9 ± 10.4 vs. 66.6 ± 8.9, P 〈 0.05） and 7 days （60.9 ± 8.4 vs. 67.3 ±9.6, P 〈 0.05） after MCAO. Motor unit number estimation of the paretic side was significantly less than the nonparetic side （379.0 ± 84.6 vs. 445.0 ±9.5, P 〈 0.05） at 7 days after MCAO. Until 14 days after stroke, the pathological loss of motor neurons was detected. Motor neurons in 14-day MCAO group were significantly decreased, compared with control group （5.3 ± 0.7 vs. 7.3 ± 1.8, P 〈 0.05）. Conclusions： Both electrophysiological and pathological studies showed transsynaptic degeneration after stroke. This study identified the asynchronization in changes of electrophysiology and pathology. The abnormal physiological changes and function impairment can be detected in the early stage and recovered quickly, while the pathological loss of motor neuron can be detected only in a later stage.

Background:Epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) mutations,including a known exon 19 deletion(19 del) and exon 21 L858 R point mutation(L858R mutation),are strong predictors of the response to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor(EGFR-TKI) treatment in lung ***,whether patients carrying EGFR 19 del and L858 R mutations exhibit different responsiveness to EGFR-TKls and what are the potential mechanism for this difference remain *** study aimed to investigate the clinical outcomes of EGFR-TKI treatment in patients with EGFR 19 del and L858 R mutations and explore the genetic heterogeneity of tumors with the two mutation ***:Of 1127 patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma harboring EGFR 19 del or L858 R mutations,532 received EGFR-TKI treatment and were included in this *** 19 del and L858 R mutations were detected by using denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography(DHPLC).T790 M mutation,which is a common resistant mutation on exon 20 of EGFR,was detected by amplification refractory mutation system(ARMS).Next-generation sequencing(NGS) was used to explore the genetic heterogeneity of tumors with EGFR 19 del and L858 R ***:Of the 532 patients,319(60.0%) had EGFR 19 del,and 213(40.0%) had L858 R *** patients with EGFR 19 del presented a significantly higher overall response rate(ORR) for EGFR-TKI treatment(55.2%vs.43.7%,P = 0.017) and had a longer progression-free survival(PFS) after first-line EGFR-TKI treatment(14.4 vs.11.4 months,P = 0.034) compared with those with L858 R ***,no statistically significant difference in overall survival(OS) was observed between the two groups of patients.T790 M mutation status was analyzed in 88 patients before EGFR-TKI treatment and 134 after EGFR-TKI treatment,and there was no significant difference in the co-existence of T790 M mutation with EGFR 19 del and L858 R mutations before EGFR-TKI treatment(5.6%vs.8.8%,P = 0.554)or after treatme

Dear Editor,This letter is concerned with stability analysis and stabilization design for sampled-data based load frequency control(LFC) systems via a data-driven method. By describing the dynamic behavior of LFC systems based on a data-based representation, a stability criterion is derived to obtain the admissible maximum sampling interval(Msi) for a given controller and a design condition of the PI-type controller is further developed to meet the required Msi. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed methods is verified by a case study.

COMPrompter: reconceptualized segment anything model with multiprompt network for camouflaged object detection

We rethink the segment anything model(SAM) and propose a novel multiprompt network called COMPrompter for camouflaged object detection(COD). SAM has zero-shot generalization ability beyond other models and can provide an ideal framework for COD. Our network aims to enhance the single prompt strategy in SAM to a multiprompt strategy. To achieve this, we propose an edge gradient extraction module, which generates a mask containing gradient information regarding the boundaries of camouflaged objects. This gradient mask is then used as a novel boundary prompt, enhancing the segmentation process. Thereafter, we design a box-boundary mutual guidance module, which fosters more precise and comprehensive feature extraction via mutual guidance between a boundary prompt and a box prompt. This collaboration enhances the model's ability to accurately detect camouflaged objects. Moreover, we employ the discrete wavelet transform to extract high-frequency features from image embeddings. The high-frequency features serve as a supplementary component to the multiprompt ***, our COMPrompter guides the network to achieve enhanced segmentation results, thereby advancing the development of SAM in terms of COD. Experimental results across COD benchmarks demonstrate that COMPrompter achieves a cutting-edge performance, surpassing the current leading model by an average positive metric of 2.2% in COD10K. In the specific application of COD, the experimental results in polyp segmentation show that our model is superior to top-tier methods as well. After the global pandemic,DaaS(desktop as a service)has become the first choice of many companies’remote working *** the desktops are usually deployed in the public cloud when using DaaS,customers are more cost-sensitive which boosts the requirement of proactive power *** researches in this area focus on virtual desktop infrastructure(VDI)session logon behavior modeling,but for the remote desktop service host(RDSH)-shared desktop pools,logoff optimization is also *** systems place sessions by round-robin or in a pre-defined order without considering their logoff ***,these approaches usually suffer from the situation that few left sessions prevent RDSH servers from being powered-off which introduces cost *** this paper,we propose session placement via adaptive user logoff prediction(SODA),an innovative compound model towards proactive RDSH session ***,an ensemble machine learning model that can predict session logoff time is combined with a statistical session placement bucket model to place RDSH sessions with similar logoff time in a more centralized manner on RDSH ***,the infrastructure cost-saving can be improved by reducing the resource waste introduced by those RDSH hosts with very few hanging sessions left for a long *** on real RDSH pool data demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed proactive session placement approach against existing static placement techniques.

Femtosecond laser small incision lenticule extraction on binocularity for myopia with glasses-free 3D technique

AIM:To evaluate the effect of femtosecond laser small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)on the binocular visual function in myopic patients with glasses-free threedimensional(3D)***:Totally 50 myopic patients(39 females and 11 males)with SMILE were enrolled in this prospective *** glasses-free 3D technique was used to evaluate the binocular visual function in these subjects including static stereopsis,dynamic stereopsis,foveal suppression,and binocular balance point of signal to noise ratio(s/n ratio).All subjects received measurements in 1d before operation,and 1d,1wk,and 1mo ***:Both static and dynamic stereopsis showed no significant difference after *** foveal suppression improved significantly 1wk and 1mo after SMILE(P=0.005 and P=0.007 respectively).The binocular balance point of signal to noise ratio showed a significant improvement 1d,1wk and 1mo after SMILE for both eyes(PsiON:Glasses-free 3D technique can be used to evaluate the effect of SMILE on the binocular visual function in myopic patients perceptively,and SMILE can improve both foveal suppression and binocular imbalance in these patients.

Influence of minor cerium addition on microstructure and fluidity of as-cast Al-Cu-Mn-Mg alloy

Al-Cu-Mn alloys are widely used to produce automobile components like cylinder heads and engine blocks because of their capability to retain excellent thermal and mechanical characteristics at high ***,the Al-Cu-Mn-based alloys demonstrate restricted fluidity,leading to casting defects such as shrinkage and incomplete *** research investigated the microstructure and fluidity of Al-4.7Cu-1.0Mn-0.5Mg（wt%） alloy with minor cerium（Ce） *** as-cast alloys predominantly comprise α-Al matrix,accompanied by the presence of Al2Cu,Al6Mn,and Al8Cu4Ce *** influence of adding Ce on the fluidity of the Al-4.7Cu-1.0Mn-0.5Mg alloy was investigated using a trispiral fluidity test mold in this *** findings suggest that the addition of Ce within the range of 0.1 wt% to 0.5 wt% in the Al-4.7Cu-1.0Mn-0.5Mg alloy results in an enhancement in ***,the alloy containing 0.4 wt% Ce exhibits a significant increase in fluidity distance,from 349.7 to 485.7 *** improvement can be attributed to the reduction in viscosity,the refinement of secondary dendrite arm spacing,and the modification of secondary phase ***,a higher concentration of Ce leads to a decrease in fluidity length,potentially due to the formation of Al8Cu4Ce.
