In this study, a safety enhanced Salmonella Pullorum （S. Pullorum） ghost was constructed using an antimicrobial peptide gene, and evaluated for its potential as a Pullorum disease （PD） vaccine candidate. The antimicrobial peptide SMAP29 was co-expressed with lysis gene E to generate S. Pullorum ghosts. No viable bacteria were detectable either in the fermentation culture after induction of gene E- and SMAP29-mediated lysis for 24 h or in the lyophilized ghost products. Specific-pathogen- free （SPF） chicks were intraperitoneally immunized with ghosts at day 7 of age and no mortality, clinical symptoms or signs of PD such as anorexia, depression and diarrhea were observed. On challenge with a virulent S. Pullorum strain at 4 wk post-immunization, a comparatively higher level of protection was observed in the S. Pullorum ghost immunized chickens with a minimum of pathological lesions and bacterial loads compared to the birds in inactivated vaccine groups. In addition, immunization with the S. Pullorum ghosts induced a potent systemic IgG response and was associated with significantly increased levels of cytokine IFN-y and IL-4 and relative percentages of CD4＋ and CD8＋ T lymphocytes. Our results indicate that SMAP29 can be employed as a new secondary lethal protein to enhance the safety of bacterial ghosts, and to prepare a non-living bacterial vaccine candidate that can prevent PD in chickens.

We demonstrate the ultrafast imaging of a submillimeter bar chart that is either hidden behind glass diffusers or inside a solution of polystyrene spheres,using an ultrafast optical Kerr gate (OKG).The results show that the time-resolved imaging of the target in the turbid media with an optical depth of 11.4 is achieved using the OKG with a 1.6 ps opening *** image contrast is improved by about 70% compared with the shadowgraph imaging.

The generation of continuous spectrum centered at 400 nm from solid thin plates is demonstrated in this work.A continuum covering 365 nm to 445 nm is obtained when 125-µJ frequency-doubled Ti:sapphire laser pulses are applied to six thin fused silica plates at 1-kHz repetition *** generalized nonlinear Schrodinger equation simplified for forward propagation is solved numerically,the spectral broadening with the experimental parameters is simulated,and good agreement between simulated result and experimental measurement is *** variation of electron density in the thin plate and the advantage of a low electron density in the spectral broadening process are discussed.

Objective: Pulmonary nodules(PNs) are one of the imaging manifestations of early lung cancer screening,which should receive more attention. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that voice changes occur in patients with pulmonary diseases. The purpose of this study is to explore the differences in phonetic characteristics between patients with PNs and able-bodied ***: This study explores the phonetic characteristics of patients with PNs in order to provide a simpler and cheaper method for PN screening. It is a case-control study to explore the differences in phonetic characteristics between individuals with and without PNs. This study performed non-parametric statistics on acoustic parameters of vocalizations, collected from January 2017 to March 2018 in Shanghai,China, from these two groups;it explores the differences in third and fourth acoustic parameters between patients with PNs and a normal control group. At the same time, computed tomography(CT) scans,course of disease, combined disease and other risk factors of the patients were collected in the form of questionnaire. According to the grouping of risk factors, the phonetic characteristics of the patients with PNs were ***: This study was comprised of 200 patients with PNs, as confirmed by CT, and 86 healthy people that served as a control group. Among patients with PNs, 43% had ground glass opacity, 32% had nodules with a diameter ≥ 8 mm, 19% had a history of smoking and 31% had hyperlipidemia. Compared with the normal group, there were statistically significant differences in pitch, intensity and shimmer in patients with PNs. Among patients with PNs, patients with diameters ≥ 8 mm had a significantly higher third formant. There was a significant difference in intensity, fourth formant and harmonics-to-noise ratio(HNR)between smoking and non-smoking patients. 血栓栓塞是犬、猫临床上多种疾病的并发症,可累及动脉或静脉,预后较差。目前兽医临床防治血栓栓塞可用的抗血栓药物种类有限,影响临床诊疗水平,引入新药具有实际意义。利伐沙班是一种新型非维生素K拮抗剂类口服抗凝药物,研究证明其能够特异性抑制活性凝血因子X从而抑制血栓形成。近年来人医领域对利伐沙班的相关临床研究逐渐丰富,涉及单用利伐沙班或使用双通路抑制疗法防治不同类型的动、静脉血栓栓塞,可为其应用于兽医临床提供据。犬、猫临床使用利伐沙班的研究正相继开展,论文就犬、猫血栓栓塞疾病发病情况、防治现状,利伐沙班的药理学特性及其在人医、兽医领域的临床试验研究进展进行综述,以期为兽医临床上利伐沙班的进一步研究提供参考。

Rock engineering is highly susceptible to cyclic loads resulting from earthquakes,quarrying or *** the fatigue properties and failure mechanism of rocks is pivotal for long-term stability assessment of rock engineering *** far,significant progress has been gained on the mechanical characteristics of rocks subjected to cyclic *** providing a global insight of typical results and main features of rocks under cyclic loading conditions,this study comprehensively reviews the state-ofthe-art of deformation and failure mechanism and fatigue constitutive relationship of rocks subjected to cyclic loading in the past 60 ***,cyclic tests on rocks are classified into different types based on loading paths,loading parameters,loading types and environment ***,representative results are summarized and highlighted in terms of the fatigue response of rocks,including the deformation degradation,energy dissipation,damage evolution and failure characteristics;both laboratory testing and numerical results are presented,and various measurement techniques such as X-ray microcomputed tomography(micro-CT)and digital image correlation(DIC)are ***,the influences of cyclic loads on the mechanical characteristics of rocks are discussed,including the cyclic stress,frequency,amplitude and ***,constitutive relationships for rocks subjected to cyclic loading are outlined,in which typical fatigue constitutive models are compared and analyzed,regarding the elastoplastic model,the internal variable model,the energy-based damage model and the discrete element-based ***,some ambiguous questions and prospective research are interpreted and discussed.

Cardiac arrest can lead to severe neurological impairment as a result of inflammation,mitochondrial dysfunction,and post-cardiopulmonary resuscitation neurological *** preconditioning has been shown to improve migration and survival of bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells and reduce pyroptosis after cardiac arrest,but the specific mechanisms by which hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells protect against brain injury after cardiac arrest are *** this end,we established an in vitro co-culture model of bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells and oxygen–glucose deprived primary neurons and found that hypoxic preconditioning enhanced the protective effect of bone marrow stromal stem cells against neuronal pyroptosis,possibly through inhibition of the MAPK and nuclear factor κB ***,we transplanted hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells into the lateral ventricle after the return of spontaneous circulation in an 8-minute cardiac arrest rat model induced by *** results showed that hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells significantly reduced cardiac arrest–induced neuronal pyroptosis,oxidative stress,and mitochondrial damage,whereas knockdown of the liver isoform of phosphofructokinase in bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells inhibited these *** conclude,hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells offer a promising therapeutic approach for neuronal injury following cardiac arrest,and their beneficial effects are potentially associated with increased expression of the liver isoform of phosphofructokinase following hypoxic preconditioning.
