Exploring Heterogeneous NoC Design Space in Heterogeneous GPU-CPU Architectures

Computer architecture is transiting from the multicore era into the heterogeneous era in which heterogeneous architectures use on-chip networks to access shared resources and how a network is configured will likely have a significant impact on overall performance and power consumption. Recently, heterogeneous network on chip （NoC） has been proposed not only to achieve performance comparable to that of the NoCs with buffered routers but also to reduce buffer cost and energy consumption. However, heterogeneous NoC design for heterogeneous GPU-CPU architectures has not been studied in depth. This paper first evaluates the performance and power consumption of a variety of static hot-potato based heterogeneous NoCs with different buffered and bufferless router placements, which is helpful to explore the design space for heterogeneous GPU-CPU interconnection. Then it proposes Unidirectional Flow Control （UFC）, a simple credit-based flow control mechanism for heterogeneous NoC in GPU-CPU architectures to control network congestion. UFC can guarantee that there are always unoccupied entries in buffered routers to receive flits coming from adjacent bufferless routers. Our evaluations show that when compared to hot-potato routing, UFC improves performance by an average of 14.1% with energy increased by an average of 5.3% only.

Objective:This study sheds light on the going-out behaviors of patients with chronic diseases when purchasing drugs during COVID-19,explores what factors influence these behaviors,and makes recommendations to guarantee the pharmaceutical treatment of patients with chronic ***:A questionnaire based on the health belief model(HBM)was designed and convenience sampling was employed to administer the online *** influence of the respondents’demographic information on their going-out behaviors was analyzed by means of multiple linear regression.A structural equation model(SEM)was constructed to explore how health beliefs related to chronic diseases and COVID-19 influenced patients’going-out ***:A total of 869 questionnaires were *** structural equation model revealed that while the severity of the chronic disease had a direct positive effect on going-out behaviors(l=0.106),chronic disease behavior barriers had a direct negative effect on their going-out behaviors(l=-0.204).Conclusion:Educational background,co-living situation,and income could influence patients’going-out *** severity of the chronic disease and chronic disease behavior barriers directly affected patients’going-out ***,patients’health beliefs about COVID-19 ultimately affected their going-out behaviors by influencing their health beliefs related to chronic disease.

Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the structural reliability and validity of generalized anxiety disorder 7-item(GAD-7)scale in early pregnant ***:In this cross-sectional study,30,823 patients in early pregnancy registered in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University completed the GAD-7 scale and patient health questionnaire-9 item(PHQ-9).The discriminative ability,reliability,construct validity,and criterion validity were assessed to evaluate the psychometric properties and factor *** with a discrimination parameter(α)of0.40 in two or more factors simultaneously were deleted from the ***:All GAD-7 scale items exhibited a high discrimination *** reliability of the GAD-7 scale was good(Cronbach’s alpha coefficient=0.891).Exploratory factor analysis extracted one factor with eigenvalues of greater than 1.0,which explained 61.930%of the common *** factor analysis confirmed that the one-factor structure fitted the data *** correlation coefficient with the PHQ-9 was ***:The Chinese version of the GAD-7 scale can be used as a screening tool for early pregnant *** performs well in terms of discriminative ability,reliability,construct validity,and criterion *** women who screen positive may require more attention and investigation to confirm the presence of generalized anxiety disorder.

The pathophysiology of Huntington's disease involves high levels of the neurotoxin quinolinic acid. Quinolinic acid accumulation results in oxidative stress, which leads to neurotoxicity. However, the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which quinolinic acid contributes to Huntington's disease pathology remain unknown. In this study, we established in vitro and in vivo models of Huntington's disease by administering quinolinic acid to the PC12 neuronal cell line and the striatum of mice, respectively. We observed a decrease in the levels of hydrogen sulfide in both PC12 cells and mouse serum, which was accompanied by down-regulation of cystathionine β-synthase, an enzyme responsible for hydrogen sulfide production. However, treatment with NaHS(a hydrogen sulfide donor) increased hydrogen sulfide levels in the neurons and in mouse serum, as well as cystathionine β-synthase expression in the neurons and the mouse striatum, while also improving oxidative imbalance and mitochondrial dysfunction in PC12 cells and the mouse striatum. These beneficial effects correlated with upregulation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 expression. Finally, treatment with the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2inhibitor ML385 reversed the beneficial impact of exogenous hydrogen sulfide on quinolinic acid-induced oxidative stress. Taken together, our findings show that hydrogen sulfide reduces oxidative stress in Huntington's disease by activating nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2,suggesting that hydrogen sulfide is a novel neuroprotective drug candidate for treating patients with Huntington's disease.
