As a typical candidate of optoelectronic materials,vanadium dioxide(VO_(2))has wide applications in photodetectors(PDs),but is still challenging in largely enhancing the photodetecting performance for low-power human radiation.Herein,high-performance si/VO_(2)nanorods(NRs)heterojunction PDs based on the photothermoelectric(PTE)effect are presented.The uniform VO_(2)-NRs array films were deposited on si by using magnetron sputtering technique,and a si/VO_(2)heterojunctions were fabricated.The device exhibits a four-stage photoresponse and broadband photoresponse from ultraviolet to long-wavelength infrared.Benefited from the unique nanorods structure and the strong PTE effect,the fabricated device exhibits a large enhancement of the photodetecting performance,showing an ultrahigh photodetectivity of 1.6×10^(13)Jones and ultrafast response rates with a risingedge time of~65.0μs,three orders of magnitude higher than other VO_(2)-based devices.Furthermore,the device exhibits unique abilities to detect human radiation even when the human fingers are far away from the device surface up to 10.0 cm.Additionally,the fabricated si/VO_(2)devices can also be applied as breath sensors to distinguish different breathing patterns.These results supply an effective route to design high-performance photodetectors toward detecting human thermal radiation and respiration.

BACKGROUND Prostate cancer(PCa)is a widespread malignancy,predominantly affecting elderly males,and current methods for diagnosis and treatment of this disease continue to fall short.The marker Ki-67(MKI67)has been previously demonstrated to correlate with the proliferation and metastasis of various cancer cells,including those of PCa.Hence,verifying the association between MKI67 and the diagnosis and prognosis of PCa,using bioinformatics databases and clinical data analysis,carries significant clinical implications.AIM To explore the diagnostic and prognostic efficacy of antigens identified by MKI67 expression in PCa.METHODS For cohort 1,the efficacy of MKI67 diagnosis was evaluated using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and Genotype-Tissue Expression(GTEx)databases.For cohort 2,the diagnostic and prognostic power of MKI67 expression was further validated using data from 271 patients with clinical PCa.RESULTS In cohort 1,MKI67 expression was correlated with prostate-specific antigen(PSA),Gleason Score,T stage,and N stage.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve showed a strong diagnostic ability,and the Kaplan-Meier method demonstrated that MKI67 expression was negatively associated with the progression-free interval(PFI).The time-ROC curve displayed a weak prognostic capability for MKI67 expression in PCa.In cohort 2,MKI67 expression was significantly related to the Gleason Score,T stage,and N stage;however,it was negatively associated with the PFI.The time-ROC curve revealed the stronger prognostic capability of MKI67 in patients with PCa.Multivariate COX regression analysis was performed to select risk factors,including PSA level,N stage,and MKI67 expression.A nomogram was established to predict the 3-year PFI.CONCLUsiON MKI67 expression was positively associated with the Gleason Score,T stage,and N stage and showed a strong diagnostic and prognostic ability in PCa.

A switchable and tunable multi-wavelength Brillouin erbium-doped fiber laser(MWBEFL) is designed and experimentally demonstrated. A Sagnac loop filter is employed as the switcher to obtain the double Brillouin frequency shift(BFS) of 0.172 nm(~20 GHz) and the quadruple BFS of 0.35 nm(~40 GHz). The working principles of the proposed laser are theoretically analyzed. The experimental results show that up to 8 Stokes lines with a wavelength interval of 0.172 nm can be obtained. When the Sagnac loop filter is used, two different output spectra with wavelength interval of 0.35 nm are obtained by adjusting the polarization controller(PC) and the optical signal-to-noise ratio(OSNR) is greater than 33 dB. By adjusting the Brillouin pump(BP) wavelength to investigate the tunability of the fiber laser, the output of 2—5 laser channels can be realized corresponding to 20 nm wavelength range. This approach is simple and can be employed for the microwave generation of other frequency ranges subject to the filtering shift of the Sagnac loop.

Tiered clustering-based management architecture in mega-satellite networks

Hybrid orbital networking and the proliferation of satellites raise explosive management complexity in mega-satellite networks(MSNs) and prompt the management architecture to the hierarchy. In this regard, we propose a tiered clustering-based management architecture(TCMA) to realize the high-efficient and low-cost management performance. Specifically, based on the constrained satellite coverage, we derive an expression of the mapping relationship between the required control overhead of the controller interaction,the average path length of the proposed TCMA, and the corresponding number of management tiers and cluster size. The expression can determine the optimal number of tiers of the TCMA by minimizing the required flow table size between controllers, while ensuring high transmission efficiency. We then exhibit the elasticity of the hierarchical TCMA by adding the peer connections at the second-highest management tier to reduce maximum redundant paths. simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed TCMA and illustrate that a 3-tier TCMA is sufficient for thousands of satellites.

AIM:To explore the effects of hepatocyte growth factor(HGF)on retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)cell behaviors.METHODS:The human adult retinal pigment epithelial cell line-19(ARPE-19)were treated by HGF or mesenchymalepithelial transition factor(MET)inhibitor SU11274 in vitro.Cell viability was detected by a Cell Counting Kit-8 assay.Cell proliferation and motility was detected by a bromodeoxyuridine incorporation assay and a wound healing assay,respectively.The expression levels of MET,phosphorylated MET,protein kinase B(AKT),and phosphorylated AKT proteins were determined by Western blot assay.The MET and phosphorylated MET proteins were also determined by immunofluorescence assay.RESULTS:HGF increased ARPE-19 cells’viability,proliferation and migration,and induced an increase of phosphorylated MET and phosphorylated AKT proteins.SU11274 significantly reduced cell viability,proliferation,and migration and decreased the expression of MET and AKT proteins.SU11274 suppressed HGF-induced increase of viability,proliferation,and migration in ARPE-19 cells.Additionally,SU11274 also blocked HGF-induced phosphorylation of MET and AKT proteins.CONCLUsiON:HGF enhances cellular viability,proliferation,and migration in RPE cells through the MET/AKT signaling pathway,whereas this enhancement is suppressed by the MET inhibitor SU11274.HGF-induced MET/AKT signaling might be a vital contributor of RPE cells survival.

BACKGROUND Human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(HER-2)plays a vital role in tumor cell proliferation and metastasis.However,the prognosis of HER2-positive gastric cancer is poor.Inetetamab,a novel anti-HER2 targeting drug independently developed in China,exhibits more potent antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity than trastuzumab,which is administered as the first-line treatment for HER2-positive gastric cancer in combination with chemotherapy.In this case,the efficacy and safety of inetetamab combined with tegafur was investigated as a second-line treatment for HER2-positive gastric cancer.CASE SUMMARY A 52-year-old male patient with HER2-positive gastric cancer presented with abdominal distension,poor appetite,and fatigue two years after receiving six cycles of oxaliplatin combined with tegafur as first-line treatment after surgery,followed by tegafur monotherapy for six months.The patient was diagnosed with postoperative recurrence of gastric adenocarcinoma.He received 17 cycles of a combination of inetetamab,an innovative domestically developed anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody,and tegafur chemotherapy as the second-line treatment(inetetamab 200 mg on day 1,every 3 wk combined with tegafur twice daily on days 1–14,every 3 wk).Evaluation of the efficacy of the second-line treatment revealed that the patient achieved a stable condition and progression-free survival of 17 months.He tolerated the treatment well without exhibiting any grade 3-4 adverse events.CONCLUsiON Inetetamab combined with chemotherapy for the treatment of metastatic HER2-positive gastric cancer demonstrates significant survival benefits and acceptable safety.

BACKGROUND Gastric signet ring cell carcinoma(GSRC)represents a specific subtype of gastric cancer renowned for its contentious epidemiological features,treatment principles,and prognostic factors.AIM To investigate the epidemiology of GSRC and establish an improved model for predicting the prognosis of patients with locally advanced GSRC(LAGSRC)after surgery.METHODS The annual rates of GSRC incidence and mortality,covering the years 1975 to 2019,were extracted from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database to explore the temporal trends in both disease incidence and mortality rates using Joinpoint software.The clinical data of 3793 postoperative LAGSRC patients were collected from the SEER database for the analysis of survival rates.The Cox regression model was used to explore the independent prognostic factors for overall survival(OS).The risk factors extracted were used to establish a prognostic nomogram.RESULTS The overall incidence of GSRC increased dramatically between 1975 and 1998,followed by a significant downward trend in incidence after 1998.In recent years,there has been a similarly optimistic trend in GSRC mortality rates.The trend in GSRC showed discrepancies based on age and sex.Receiver operating characteristic curves,calibration curves,and decision curve analysis for 1-year,3-year,and 5-year OS demonstrated the high discriminative ability and clinical utility of this nomogram.The area under the curve indicated that the performance of the new model outperformed that of the pathological staging system.CONCLUsiON The model we established can aid clinicians in the early prognostication of LAGSRC patients,resulting in improved clinical outcomes by modifying management strategies and patient health care.

The Shanghai high-repetition-rate X-ray free-electron laser and extreme light facility(SHINE)operates at a maximum repetition rate of 1 MHz.Kicker magnets are key components that distribute electron bunches into three different undulator lines in a bunch-by-bunch mode.The kicker field width must be less than the time interval between bunches.A lumpedinductance kicker prototype was developed using a vacuum chamber with a single-turn coil.The full magnetic field strength was 0.005 T.This paper presents the requirements,design considerations,design parameters,magnetic field calculations,and measurements of the kicker magnets.The relevant experimental results are also presented.The pulse width of the magnetic field was approximately 600 ns,and the maximum operation repetition rate was 1 MHz.The developed kicker satisfies the requirements for the SHINE project.Finally,numerous recommendations for the future optimization of kicker magnets are provided.

Metal-free graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))has captured significant attention as a low-cost and efficient hydrogen production photocatalyst through.Effectively regulating the microstructure and accelerating the separation of photogenerated carriers remain crucial strategies for promoting the photocatalytic performance of this material.Herein,a novel sulfur–carbon co-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)(SCCN)hierarchical microtubules filled with abundant nanosheets inside by thermal polymerization is reported.Numerous nanosheets create abundant pores and cavities inside the SCCN microtubes,thereby increasing the specific surface area of g-C_(3)N_(4)and providing sufficient reactant attachment sites.Besides,the hierarchical structure of SCCN microtubules strengthens the reflection and scattering of light,and the utilization of visible light is favorably affected.More importantly,co-doping S and C has greatly improved the photocatalytic performance of graphitic carbon nitride,optimized the band gap structure and enhanced the photogenerated carrier splitting.Consequently,the SCCN exhibits a remarkable photocatalytic H_(2)evolution rate of 4868μmol/(g·h).This work demonstrates the potential of multi-nonmetal doped g-C_(3)N_(4)as the ideal photocatalyst for H2 evolution.
