Aging increases the risk ofliver diseases and systemic susceptibility to aging-related ***,cell type-specific changes and the underlying mechanism of liver aging in higher vertebrates remain incompletely ***,we constructed the first single-nucleus transcriptomic landscape of primate liver aging,in which we resolved cell type-specific gene expression fluctuation in hepatocytes across three liver zonations and detected aberrant cell-cell interactions between hepatocytes and niche *** in-depth dissection of this rich dataset,we identifed impaired lipid metabolism and upregulation of chronic inflammation-related genes prominently associated with declined liver functions during *** particular,hyperactivated sterol regulatory element-binding protein(SREBP)signaling was a hallmark of the aged liver,and consequently,forced activation of SREBP2 in human primary hepatocytes recapitulated in vivo aging phenotypes,manifesting as impaired detoxification and accelerated cellular *** study expands our knowledge of primate liver aging and informs the development of diagnostics and therapeutic interventions for liver aging and associated diseases.

Ferrihydrite transformation impacted by coprecipitation of lignin:Inhibition or facilitation?

Lignin is a common soil organic matter that is present in soils,but its effect on the transformation of ferrihydrite(Fh)remains *** matter is generally assumed to inhibit Fh ***,lignin can reduce Fh to Fe(Ⅱ),in which Fe(Ⅱ)-catalyzed Fh transformation ***,the effects of lignin on Fh transformation were investigated at 75℃ as a function of the lignin/Fh mass ratio(0-0.2),pH(4-8)and aging time(0-96 hr).The results of Fh-lignin samples(mass ratios=0.1)aged at different pH values showed that for Fh-lignin the time of Fh transformation into secondary crystalline minerals was significantly shortened at pH 6 when compared with pure Fh,and the Fe(Ⅱ)-accelerated transformation of Fh was strongly dependent on *** pH 6,at low lignin/Fh mass ratios(0.05-0.1),the time of secondary mineral formation decreased with increasing lignin *** high lignosulfonate-content material(lignin:Fh=0.2),Fh did not transform into secondary minerals,indicating that lignin content plays a major role in Fh *** addition,lignin affected the pathway of Fh transformation by inhibiting goethite formation and facilitating hematite *** effect of coprecipitation of lignin on Fh transformation should be useful in understanding the complex iron and carbon cycles in a soil environment.

The precision and reliability of first-arrival picking are crucial for determining the accuracy of geological structure inversion using active source ocean bottom seismometer(OBS)refraction *** methods for first-arrival picking based on sample points are characterized by theoretical errors,especially in low-sampling-frequency OBS data because the travel time of seismic waves is not an integer multiple of the sampling *** this paper,a first-arrival picking method that utilizes the spatial waveform variation characteristics of active source OBS data is ***,the distribution law of theoretical error is examined;adjacent traces exhibit variation characteristics in their ***,a label cross-correlation superposition method for extracting highfrequency signals is presented to enhance the first-arrival picking *** from synthetic and field data verify that the proposed approach is robust,successfully overcomes the limitations of low sampling frequency,and achieves precise outcomes that are comparable with those of high-sampling-frequency data.

Carbon Dots as“On–Off–On”Fluorescence Sensors for Selective and Consecutive Detection of 4-Nitrophenol and Cerium(IV)in Water Samples

An“on–off–on”fluorescence sensor was designed for rapidly and consecutively detecting 4-nitrophenol and cerium(IV)without the use of any labeling *** yellow carbon dots were synthesized by a simple one-step hydrothermal approach,and various techniques were applied to investigate the morphology,structure,and optical properties of the carbon *** the optimal experimental conditions,4-nitrophenol rapidly quenched the fluorescence of carbon dots as a result of the inner filter eff ect(IFE).The fluorescence intensity of carbon dots was linear with the concentration of 4-nitrophenol(1–150μmol/L)and the limit of detection was 0.32μmol/*** fluorescence was gradually recovered as the cerium(IV)concentration(0.5–100μmol/L)increased in CDs/4-NP,and the limit of detection was 0.16μmol/*** sensor showed good selectivity and demonstrated high accuracy for the analysis of 4-nitrophenol and cerium(IV)in actual water samples.

Friction moment calculation method for tapered roller bearings under combined loads

Tapered roller bearings(TRBs) can withstand axial loads, radial loads, and overturning moments. The performance, safety, and efficiency of rotating machinery are directly influenced by the friction moments within the TRBs. However, most current research has relied on empirical formulas that focus on axial loads. Additionally, the friction coefficient between the rollers and the inner ring rib has been defined using simple empirical methods. In actual applications, the loads on TRBs are not purely axial or radial, and simple empirical friction coefficients do not adequately account for the varying lubrication conditions. To address this challenge, this study proposes an improved method for calculating the friction moments of TRB under combined axial and radial loads. This study employs a calculation method for sliding friction coefficients that can model dry, boundary, elastohydrodynamic, and mixed lubrication conditions. To demonstrate the advantages of the proposed method, the friction moments obtained using the existing and proposed methods are compared. Additionally, the influence of TRB structural parameters on the friction moment is discussed. An experimental study is conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The findings provide valuable insights for designing TRB structural parameters to minimize friction moments.

Learning-based counterfactual explanations for recommendation

Counterfactual explanations provide explanations by exploring the changes in effect caused by changes in cause. They have attracted significant attention in recommender system research to explore the impact of changes in certain properties on the recommendation mechanism. Among several counterfactual recommendation methods, item-based counterfactual explanation methods have attracted considerable attention because of their flexibility. The core idea of item-based counterfactual explanation methods is to find a minimal subset of interacted items(i.e., short length) such that the recommended item would topple out of the top-K recommendation list once these items have been removed from user interactions(i.e., good quality). Usually, explanations are generated by ranking the precomputed importance of items, which fails to characterize the true importance of interacted items due to separation from the explanation generation. Additionally, the final explanations are generated according to a certain search strategy given the precomputed importance. This indicates that the quality and length of counterfactual explanations are deterministic;therefore, they cannot be balanced once the search strategy is fixed. To overcome these obstacles, this study proposes learning-based counterfactual explanations for recommendation(LCER) to provide counterfactual explanations based on personalized recommendations by jointly modeling the factual and counterfactual preference. To achieve consistency between the computation of importance and generation of counterfactual explanations, the proposed LCER endows an optimizable importance for each interacted item, which is supervised by the goal of counterfactual explanations to guarantee its credibility. Because of the model's flexibility, the trade-off between quality and length can be customized by setting different proportions. The near-seabed multichannel seismic exploration systems have yielded remarkable successes in marine geological disaster assessment,marine gas hydrate investigation,and deep-sea mineral exploration owing to their high vertical and horizontal ***,the quality of deep-towed seismic imaging hinges on accurate source-receiver positioning *** light of existing technical problems,we propose a novel array geometry inversion method tailored for high-resolution deep-towed multichannel seismic exploration *** method is independent of the attitude and depth sensors along a deep-towed seismic streamer,accounting for variations in seawater velocity and seabed slope *** approach decomposes the towed line array into multiline segments and characterizes its geometric shape using the line segment distance and pitch *** optimization parameters for seawater velocity and seabed slope angle,we establish an objective function based on the model,yielding results that align with objective *** the particle swarm optimization algorithm enables synchronous acquisition of optimized inversion results for array geometry and seawater *** validation using theoretical models and practical data verifies that our approach effectively enhances source and receiver positioning inversion *** algorithm exhibits robust stability and reliability,addressing uncertainties in seismic traveltime picking and complex seabed topography conditions.

Green hydrogen is urgently required for sustainable development of human beings and rational construction of heterostructures holds great promising for photocatalytic hydrogen ***,2D/2D WSe2/ZnIn2S4heterostructures with strong hetero-interface interaction and abundant contact were constructed via an impregnation-annealing *** charge transfer from ZnIn2S4to WSe2was evidenced by transient absorption spectroscopy in crafted heterostructures owing to the tight and2D face-to-face *** a result,the prepared WSe2/ZnIn2S4heterostructures exhibited boosted photocatalytic performance and a highest hydrogen evolution rate of 3.377 mmol/（g h） was achieved with an apparent quantum yield of 45.7% at 420 *** work not only provides new strategies to achieve efficient 2D/2D heterostructures but also paves the way for the development of green hydrogen in the future.

Local saliency consistency-based label inference for weakly supervised salient object detection using scribble annotations

Recently,weak supervision has received growing attention in the field of salient object detection due to the convenience of ***,there is a large performance gap between weakly supervised and fully supervised salient object detectors because the scribble annotation can only provide very limited foreground/background ***,an intuitive idea is to infer annotations that cover more complete object and background regions for *** this end,a label inference strategy is proposed based on the assumption that pixels with similar colours and close positions should have consistent ***,k-means clustering algorithm was first performed on both colours and coordinates of original annotations,and then assigned the same labels to points having similar colours with colour cluster centres and near coordinate cluster ***,the same annotations for pixels with similar colours within each kernel neighbourhood was set *** experiments on six benchmarks demonstrate that our method can significantly improve the performance and achieve the state-of-the-art results.
