BACKGROUND Ureteral reconstruction is a highly technical type of laparoscopic or open *** incidence of ureteral injury is low;however,ureteral injuries tend to be *** surgery for urinary reconstructive surgery is growing in popularity,which has made procedures such as pyeloplasty,ureteroureterostomy,and ureteroneocystostomy possible,with minimal damage to the *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first report of robot-assisted laparoscopic pyeloureterostomy in Korea,in a 17-year-old female patient with a ureteral *** SUMMARY The patient,a 17-year-old girl without previous medical history,was presented at the emergency room and complained of abdominal and back *** in the right upper quadrant was observed on physical *** in the right perirenal space was observed without abdominal organ injuries on the initial enhanced abdomen computed tomography(CT)*** injury was not suspected at this *** patient was stabilized via conservative treatment,but complained of right flank pain 3 wk later and revisited the emergency *** enhanced abdominal CT scan revealed a huge urinoma in the right perirenal space with hydronephrosis of the right *** and antegrade pyelography were *** and discontinuity of the ureter were found.A rupture of the ureteropelvic junction was diagnosed and reconstructive surgery was *** 3 mo,the patient did not complain of any symptoms without any abnormal radiologic *** This case report discusses the safety and effectiveness of this minimal invasive procedure as an alternative to conventional open or laparoscopic surgery.

Background:Aducanumab(Adu),which is a human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets oligomer and fibril forms of beta-amyloid,has been reported to reduce amyloid pathology and improve impaired cognition after administration of a high dose(10 mg/kg)of the drug in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)clinical *** purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a lower dose of Adu(3 mg/kg)with enhanced delivery via focused ultrasound(FUS)in an AD mouse ***:The FUS with microbubbles opened the blood-brain barrier(BBB)of the hippocampus for the delivery of *** combined therapy of FUS and Adu was performed three times in total and each treatment was performed biweekly.Y-maze test,Brdu labeling,and immunohistochemical experimental methods were employed in this *** addition,RNA sequencing and ingenuity pathway analysis were employed to investigate gene expression profiles in the hippocampi of experimental ***:The FUS-mediated BBB opening markedly increased the delivery of Adu into the brain by approximately 8.1 times in the *** combined treatment induced significantly less cognitive decline and decreased the level of amyloid plaques in the hippocampi of the 5×FAD mice compared with Adu or FUS *** treatment with FUS and Adu activated phagocytic microglia and increased the number of astrocytes associated with amyloid plaques in the hippocampi of 5×FAD ***,RNA sequencing identified that 4 enriched canonical pathways including phagosome formation,neuroinflammation signaling,CREB signaling and reelin signaling were altered in the hippocami of 5×FAD mice receiving the combined ***:In conclusion,the enhanced delivery of a low dose of Adu(3 mg/kg)via FUS decreases amyloid deposits and attenuates cognitive function ***-mediated BBB opening increases adult hippocampal neurogenesis as well as drug *** present an AD treatment strategy through the synergistic effect of the combined therapy of

Background:Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)are effective in a subset of patients with metastatic solid ***,the patients who would benefit most from ICIs in biliary tract cancer(BTC)are still *** and methods:We molecularly characterized tissues and blood from 32 patients with metastatic BTC treated with the ICI pembrolizumab as second-line ***:All patients had microsatellite stable(MSS)type *** of the 32 patients achieved partial response(PR),with an objective response rate(ORR)of 9.4%(95%confidence interval[CI],2.0–25.2)and nine showed stable disease(SD),exhibiting a disease control rate(DCR)of 37.5%(95%CI,21.1–56.3).For the 31 patients who had access to PD-1 ligand 1(PD-L1)combined positive score(CPS)testing(cut-off value≥1%),the ORR was not different between those who had PD-L1-positive(PD-L1+;1/11,9.1%)and PDL1-(2/20,10.0%)tumors(p=1.000).The tumor mutational burden(TMB)of PD-L1+BTC was comparable to that of PD-L1-BTC(p=0.630).TMB and any exonic somatic mutations were also not predictive of pembrolizumab *** analysis of blood and tumor samples demonstrated a relatively high natural killer(NK)cell proportion in the peripheral blood before pembrolizumab treatment in patients who achieved tumor ***,the tumors of these patients presented high enrichment scores for NK cells,antitumor cytokines,and Th1 signatures,and a low enrichment score for cancer-associated ***:This study shows the molecular characteristics associated with the efficacy of pembrolizumab in BTC of the MSS type.

The tribological properties and scratch resistance of MoS_(2)bilayer deposited on siO_(2)/si substrates prepared via chemical vapor deposition are *** force microscopy(FFM)is employed to investigate the friction and wear properties of the MoS_(2)bilayer at the nanoscale by applying a normal load ranging from 200 to 1,000 *** resistance is measured using the scratch mode in FFM based on a linearly increasing load from 100 to 1,000 *** probe force microscopy(KPFM)is performed to locally measure the surface potential in the tested surface to qualitatively measure the wear/removal of Mos,layers and identify critical loads associated with the individual failures of the top and bottom *** analysis of the contact potential difference values as well as that of KPFM,friction,and height images show that the wear/removal of the top and bottom layers in the MoS_(2)bilayer system occurred *** FFM and KPFM results show that the top MoS_(2)layer begins to degrade at the end of the low friction stage,followed by the bottom layer,thereby resulting in a transitional friction stage owing to the direct contact between the diamond tip and siO_(2)*** the stable third stage,the transfer of lubricious MoS_(2)debris to the tip apex results in contact between the MoS_(2)-transferred tip and siO_(2).Nanoscratch test results show two ranges of critical loads,which correspond to the sequential removal of the top and bottom layers.

The objective of style transfer is to maintain the content of an image while transferring the style of another ***,conventional methods face challenges in preserving facial features,especially in Korean portraits where elements like the“Gat”(a traditional Korean hat)are *** paper proposes a deep learning network designed to perform style transfer that includes the“Gat”while preserving the identity of the *** traditional style transfer techniques,the proposed method aims to preserve the texture,attire,and the“Gat”in the style image by employing image sharpening and face landmark,with the *** color,texture,and intensity were extracted differently based on the characteristics of each block and layer of the pre-trained VGG-16,and only the necessary elements during training were preserved using a facial landmark *** head area was presented using the eyebrow area to transfer the“Gat”.Furthermore,the identity of the face was retained,and style correlation was considered based on the Gram *** evaluate performance,we introduced a metric using PSNR and SsiM,with an emphasis on median values through new weightings for style transfer in Korean ***,we have conducted a survey that evaluated the content,style,and naturalness of the transferred results,and based on the assessment,we can confidently conclude that our method to maintain the integrity of content surpasses the previous *** approach,enriched by landmarks preservation and diverse loss functions,including those related to“Gat”,outperformed previous researches in facial identity preservation.

Restoration of the JPEG Maximum Lossy Compressed Face Images with Hourglass Block-GAN

In the context of high compression rates applied to Joint Photographic Experts Group(JPEG)images through lossy compression techniques,image-blocking artifacts may *** necessitates the restoration of the image to its original *** challenge lies in regenerating significantly compressed images into a state in which these become ***,this study focuses on the restoration of JPEG images subjected to substantial degradation caused by maximum lossy compression using Generative Adversarial Networks(GAN).The generator in this network is based on theU-Net *** features a newhourglass structure that preserves the characteristics of the deep *** addition,the network incorporates two loss functions to generate natural and high-quality images:Low Frequency(LF)loss and High Frequency(HF)*** loss uses a pretrained VGG-16 network and is configured using a specific layer that best represents *** can enhance the performance in the high-frequency *** contrast,LF loss is used to handle the low-frequency *** two loss functions facilitate the generation of images by the generator,which can mislead the discriminator while accurately generating high-and low-frequency ***,by removing the blocking effects frommaximum lossy compressed images,images inwhich identities could be recognized are *** study represents a significant improvement over previous research in terms of the image resolution performance.

Clinical features of gastric adenoma detected within 3 years after negative screening endoscopy in Korea

Background:Early detection and management of gastric adenoma are important for preventing gastric *** present study aimed to evaluate the predictors of missed gastric adenoma on screening endoscopy in Korea and identify the risk factors associated with interval precancerous gastric ***:All cases of gastric adenomas diagnosed via screening endoscopy between 2007 and 2019 were *** them,those who had undergone endoscopy within 3 years were included in the present *** gastric adenoma was defined as gastric adenoma diagnosed within 3 years after negative screening ***:In total,295 cases of gastric adenoma were *** these,95(32.2%)were missed gastric adenoma cases(mean age,60.6 years;average interval between final and index endoscopies,12.6months);the remaining 200(67.8%)were newly detected adenoma *** analysis revealed thatmale sex,endoscopist experience,observation time,and presence of gastric intestinalmetaplasia(pathologically proven)were associated with missed gastric *** analysis revealed that gastric intestinal metaplasia(odds ratio[OR],2.736;95%confidence interval[CI],1.320–5.667;P=0.007)and shorter observation time of the index screening endoscopy(B,0.011;OR,0.990;95%CI,0.986–0.993;Psions:Gastric intestinal metaplasia is an indication of missed gastric ***,careful inspection of gastric mucosa with gastric intestinal metaplasia and proper observation time can lower the possibility of missing the gastric adenoma during screening.

Hyperreflective photonic crystals created by shearing colloidal dispersions at ultrahigh volume fraction

Colloidal crystallization serves as one of the most economic and scalable production methods for photonic ***,insufficient optical performance,nonuniformity and low reproducibility remain challenges for advanced high-value *** this study,we optimally formulate a photocurable dispersion of silica particles and apply shear flow to unify the orientation of the colloidal crystals,ensuring high optical performance and *** silica particles experience strong repulsion at ultrahigh volume fractions of 50%but demonstrate low mobility,leading to polycrystalline *** shear flow to the dispersions allows the silica particles to rearrange into larger crystalline domains with a unidirectional orientation along the *** shear-induced structural change produces absolute reflectivity at the stopband as high as 90%and a high transparency of 90%at off-resonant wavelengths with minimal diffusive ***,the strong interparticle repulsion ensures a uniform volume fraction of particles throughout the dispersion,reducing deviations in the optical *** intricately micropattern the photocurable dispersions using ***,the photonic films and patterns can be stacked to form multiple layers,displaying mixed structural colors and multiple reflectance peaks without sacrificing *** superior photonic materials hold promise for various optical applications,including optical components and anticounterfeiting patches.
