Nano-scale phases can enhance or reduce the mechanical properties of materials,so it is very important to control the size of the phases.Copper-rich nanoclusters as matrix defects will significantly reduce the performance of materials for key nuclear power components,while traditional heat treatment method has a technical bottleneck for the dissolution of nanoclusters.A new method of using the inherent electrical property discrepancies between the matrix material and the nanoclusters to effectively dissolve the nanoclusters through pulsed electric current to realize the recovery of material aging degradation performance is proposed.The performance evolution of simulated steel in the aging-external field repair cycle was studied,and it was found the dislocations as the preferred nucleation sites of nanoclusters were regulated in virtue of the non-thermal effect of current,resulting in a decrease in dislocation density and entanglement release.In the subsequent thermal aging process,the embrittlement rate of the aged and tempered material trained by the electric pulse was slower than that of the untreated sample.When moving dislocations are pinned by nanoclusters under high stress,nano-scale dislocations can be induced into the clusters.The dislocations near the nanoclusters and the newly formed nano-scale dislocations in the nanoclusters act as fast diffusion channels,which can further accelerate the dissolution of the nanoclusters.

To the Editor:Myelosuppression is one of the most common side effects of chemotherapy.Some patients would develop long-lasting aplastic anemia(AA)even after stopping chemotherapy for over three months,due to persistent destruction of the bone marrow.As a thrombopoietin-receptor agonist,eltrombopag(EPAG)has been widely used in patients with thrombocytopenia from various origins,[1]including those with AA secondary to chemotherapy.However,both EPAG and cyclosporin A(CsA)have been reported to possibly induce the expansion of abnormal clones or controversially increase the risk of neoplasms.[2]Thus,the challenge was to treat severe cytopenia while preventing cancer relapse.Our study reported the efficacy and safety of EPAG with or without CsA for patients with AA secondary to chemotherapy,in an attempt to find solutions to these difficulties.

Recent studies have shown that acute blood glucose elevation in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)suggests a poor prognosis.To investigate the effect of fasting blood glucose(FBG)on the risk of heart failure(HF)and left ventricular systolic dysfunction(LVSD)in non-diabetic patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)for acute STEMI,we retrospectively recruited consecutive non-diabetic patients who underwent primary PCI for STEMI in our hospital from February 2003 to March 2015.The patients were divided into two groups according to the FBG level.A total of 623 patients were recruited with an age of 61.3±12.9 years,of whom 514(82.5%)were male.The HF risk(odds ratio 3.401,95%confidence interval(CI)2.144–5.395,P<0.001)was significantly increased in patients with elevated FBG than those with normal FBG.Elevated FBG was also independently related to LVSD(β1.513,95%CI 1.282–1.785,P<0.001)in a multiple logistics regression analysis.In conclusion,elevated FBG was independently associated with 30-day HF and LVSD risk in non-diabetic patients undergoing primary PCI for STEMI.

Advances in next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics have begun to reveal the complex genetic landscape in human cancer genomes, including oral squamous cell carcinoma （OSCC）. Sophisticated preclinical models that fully represent intra- and inter-tumoral heterogeneity are required to understand the molecular diversity of cancer and achieve the goal of personalized therapies. Patient-derived xenograft （PDX） models generated from human tumor samples that can retain the histological and genetic features of their donor tumors have been shown to be the preferred preclinical tool in translational cancer research compared with other conventional preclinical models. Specifically, genetically well-defined PDX models can be applied to accelerate targeted antitumor drug development and biomarker discovery. Recently, we have successfully established and characterized an OSCC PDX panel as part of our tumor bio-bank for translational cancer research. In this paper, we discuss the establishment, characterization, and preclinical applications of the PDX models. In particular, we focus on the classification and applications of the PDX models based on validated annotations, including clinicopathological features, genomic profiles, and pharmacological testing information. We also explore the translational value of this well-annotated PDX panel in the development of co-clinical trials for patient stratification and treatment optimization in the near future. Although various limitations still exist, this preclinical approach should be further tested and improved.

The chain-like prior particle boundaries(PPBs)as a kind of stubborn harmful precipitate will hinder atomic diffusion and particle connection.They can only be broken into nanoscale through thermal deformation(1160–1200℃).Here,treated by the pulsed electric current at 800℃,PPBs were dissolved quickly as a result of the interaction between the pulsed electric current and the chain-like structure.According to the electromigration theory and the calculation results,the high current density regions will be mainly produced at the gaps due to the conductivity difference between the precipitates and the matrix.The atomic diffusion flux caused by the pulsed electric current is proportional to the current density.Therefore,the existence of a large number of gaps in the chain-like PPBs will make the high current density regions play a more positive role in fast-dissolution.

Mapping Network-Coordinated Stacked Gated Recurrent Units for Turbulence Prediction

Accurately predicting fluid forces acting on the sur-face of a structure is crucial in engineering design.However,this task becomes particularly challenging in turbulent flow,due to the complex and irregular changes in the flow field.In this study,we propose a novel deep learning method,named mapping net-work-coordinated stacked gated recurrent units(MSU),for pre-dicting pressure on a circular cylinder from velocity data.Specifi-cally,our coordinated learning strategy is designed to extract the most critical velocity point for prediction,a process that has not been explored before.In our experiments,MSU extracts one point from a velocity field containing 121 points and utilizes this point to accurately predict 100 pressure points on the cylinder.This method significantly reduces the workload of data measure-ment in practical engineering applications.Our experimental results demonstrate that MSU predictions are highly similar to the real turbulent data in both spatio-temporal and individual aspects.Furthermore,the comparison results show that MSU predicts more precise results,even outperforming models that use all velocity field points.Compared with state-of-the-art methods,MSU has an average improvement of more than 45%in various indicators such as root mean square error(RMSE).Through comprehensive and authoritative physical verification,we estab-lished that MSU’s prediction results closely align with pressure field data obtained in real turbulence fields.This confirmation underscores the considerable potential of MSU for practical applications in real engineering scenarios.The code is available at https://***/zhangzm0128/MSU.

Slip-Control Strategy of Dual Independent Electric Drive Tracked Vehicle

In order to improve the brake performance of a dual independent electric drive tracked vehicle,a dynamic model for braking situation was established.Then,a sliding model controller(SMC)with an auxiliary system was designed to control the slip and its effectiveness was proved.A hardware-in-loop simulation through MATLAB/XPC was compared with the normal SMC and normal integral sliding mode controller(ISMC),the results show that SMC with the auxiliary system has a better performance:a smaller overshoot and steady state error.The disturbance is suppressed effectively.In the initial speed of 65.km/h,the brake distance was shortened by 3.4%and 6.8%compared with the other two methods,respectively.Finally,initial speeds of 30-36.km/h tests was carried out on a flat soil road.Compared with a no-control brake,the displacement was shortened by 1.8.m.It demonstrates the effectiveness of the slip-control strategy.In the same situation,the error between the simulation and test is 18.1%,which validates the accuracy of models.

Congenital cataract is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous disease characterized by any opacity of the lens presenting at birth or in the first year of life,with an incidence of 1–6/10,000 live births in developed countries and 5–15/10,000 live births in developing countries.Congenital cataract accounts for 7.4%–15.5%of all childhood blindness,and it occurs as either a syndromic disease or an isolated(nonsyndromic)disease with or without other ocular malformations,such as microcornea.
