Epidemiology and clinical characteristics of burns in China's Mainland from 2009 to 2018

Background:Burn injuries place a heavy burden on the global healthcare ***,there is still a lack of nationwide studies on the epidemiological characteristics of burn patients in China's *** present study aims to accurately analyze the clinical characteristics of burn patients by collecting data in China's Mainland from 2009 to 2018,which will provide effective strategies for healthcare systems and the government in China's ***:Patients admitted for burn injuries to 196 hospitals in 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities in China's Mainland from 2009 to 2018 were *** data collected included sex,age,month distribution,etiology,region,clinical outcome,injury anatomical location,total burn surface area and *** 19.0 software was used to analyze the ***:From 2009 to 2018,the burn patients were 333,995(0.76%),which included 222,480(66.61%)males and 111,515(33.39%)*** 2009 to 2018,the number of individuals admit-ted to hospitals for burns showed a downward trend year by *** burn patients accounted for the highest proportion of inpatients in 0-10 years(38.10%),followed by 40-50 years(13.14%).The highest cure ratio of burn inpatients was in the 20-30 age group(31394,71.53%).Among 31 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities,the province with the highest proportion of total inpatients caused by burns was Inner Mongolia(4.61%),followed by Zhejiang(3.17%),Hainan(2.88%)and Xinjiang(2.64%).Summer(29.16%)was the season with the highest incidence of burn patients admitted to hospitals,followed by spring(25.6%).Scalding(60.19%)was the most frequent kind of burn treated,followed by fire(20.45%).The patients had multiple burn sites(68.89%)most often,followed by burns on the lower limbs(10.91%).From 0%to 10%total body surface area(TBSA)accounted for the highest ratio(37.19%),followed by 90-100%TBSA(21.74%).Conclusions:The present study is the first to describe the associated situation and trend

Glioma is a common intracranial tumor, and the prognosis is poor though much management is put into use. It is reported that Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway is associated with glioma. In the present study, we aim to investigate that berberine as one of antineoplastic drugs inhibits Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway in growth of glioma cells in vitro. The results indicate that berberine inhibited cell proliferation, induced cell apoptosis. The expression levels of Wif-1 mRNA and protein in negative control(NC) cells were decreased significantly compared with it in berberine treated cells. Subsequent investigation reveals that berberine suppressed the activity of Wnt/betacatenin signaling pathway and beta-catenin/TCF-4 transcription. Furthermore, the expression of apoptosis-related protein Bcl-2 indicates cell apoptosis significantly. We provide the first evidence that berberine reactivate Wif-1 from an inactive state, downregulate the canonical Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. Our findings identify that berberine is effective for glioma in vitro and may be a new therapeutic option in vivo.

Introduction Traumatic acute subdural hematoma(SDH) is one of the most lethal causes of head injuries, which leads to high mortality. While combined diseases always make it more intractable for the treatment. Here we describe a case of traumatic acute subdural hematoma combined with hydrocephalus after ventriculoperitoneal shunt assisted by the neuronavigation system. Case presentation A 68-year-old female was transmitted to our emergency department with unconsciousness for a serious head trauma. She was undergone ventriculoperitoneal shunt(VPS) 6 years and 5 months ago on two sides respectively because of hydrocephalus, with the VPS device on the right side out of work. The initial neurological examination showed a Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS) of E2 V1 M5 with no papillary defect. A computed tomography(CT) scan of the head revealed a left homogeneously hyperdense and subdural hematoma, with compression of the lateral ventricle(2.6 cm thick) and a 0.5 cm midline shift. To protect the VPS device, we used neuronavigation system to precisely mark the relative location of the device and "invisible" subdural hematoma, thus to design a perfect incision preoperatively. Subsequently, evacuation of the SDH was performed via craniotomy without damaging the VPS device. Postoperative CT of the head showed totally removing of the SDH. The patient recovered three months later. Conclusion With the assistant of neuronavigation system, it is much easier for the preoperative planning and to reduce the surgical risk. Our case gives a clue that more approaches can be considered when encountering acute head trauma with the complicated combined diseases.

Calcified chronic subdural hematoma(CCSDH) is a rare pathological entity,constituting 0.5-2% of chronic subdural hematoma(CSDH)[1-5].and until recently,has been published only as case *** was the first to describe a calcified chronic subdural hematoma on a CT scan in 1980[1].With CT becoming prevalent,the incidence is decreasing recently duo to early diagnosis and early ***,the calcified CSDH natural history,etiology,diagnosis and managements remain somewhat undefined because of his low *** present a patient with huge calcified,organized and separated CSDH who obtained good re-expansion after craniotomy to remove the thick calcified inner membrane and *** addition,we reviewed 46 cases in literature and conducted a summary about calcified CSDH.

Edge Coalition Construction Based on a Novel Market Equilibrium Price

The emergence of multi-access edge computing(MEC) aims at extending cloud computing capabilities to the edge of the radio access network. As the large-scale internet of things(IoT) services are rapidly growing, a single edge infrastructure provider(EIP) may not be sufficient to handle the data traffic generated by these services. Most of the existing work addressed the computing resource shortage problem by optimizing tasks schedule, whereas others overcome such issue by placing computing resources on demand. However, when considering a multiple EIPs scenario, an urgent challenge is how to generate a coalition structure to maximize each EIP's gain with a suitable price for computing resource block corresponding to a container. To this end, we design a scheme of EIPs collaboration with a market price for containers under a scenario that considers a collection of service providers(SPs) with different budgets and several EIPs distributed in geographical ***, we bring in the net profit market price model to generate a more reasonable equilibrium price and select the optimal EIPs for each SP by a convex program. Then we use a mathematical model to maximize EIP's profits and form stable coalitions between EIPs by a distributed coalition formation algorithm. Numerical results demonstrate that our proposed collaborative scheme among EIPs enhances EIPs' gain and increases users' surplus.

雾霾是雾和灰霾的混合体,它们是两种不同的气象。有别于雾,灰霾是一种灾害性气象。从物质的相变与质量的分布规律,分析雾霾的形成机制。雾是由水的气相转变为水的液相或固相的相变过程。对于雾来说,温度是影响气液(气固)相变的主要因素。灰霾发生的主要原因是空气中存在较大密度的气溶胶微粒。理论分析表明,温度较低的季节,气溶胶微粒的标高小于温度较高季节的标高,气溶胶微粒密度与标高成反比,理论结果与实际监测结果一致。人类活动产生大量气溶胶颗粒是灰霾现象形成的内因,自然气象条件是灰霾形成的外因。减少气溶胶颗粒物的排放,是控制灰霾天气发生的关键。尽管环境保护是一个涉及多方面且错综复杂的问题,但是我们可以从简单易行的工作做起,分步骤地采取措施,从呼吁倡导层面转变为实际行动,对灰霾予以控制。

Anomalous quality factor evolution of induced transparency in a virtualized coupled-oscillator system

The phenomenon of induced transparency,characterized by a high quality(Q)factor,holds significant importance in the fields of high-precision sensing,energy storage and wave *** transparency systems are often constrained by the limited experimentally accessible parameter space and the lack of independent control over intrinsic parameters,thereby hindering advanced research on high-Q *** we propose a virtualized coupled-oscillator system that enables reconfigurable induced transparency in the reflection *** virtually incorporating a pair of coupled oscillators into an individual acoustic meta-atom,we achieve the manipulation of induced transparency in a decoupled,wide-ranging,and elaborate *** the diverse evolutions across the intrinsic parameter space,we show experimentally a counter-intuitive increase in the Q-factor of the transparency window,which is attributed to the enhanced dissipation of the bright ***,a constant group delay at the center frequency is observed accompanying this *** work demonstrates an intriguing platform as well as a novel strategy to engineer high-Q induced transparency phenomenon,and paves the way towards applications in programmable acoustic sensors,filters and slow-wave devices.
