The Sr2 CeO4:Ln3+(Ln=Eu,Dy)fine phosphor particles were prepared by a facile wet chemical approach,in which the consecutive hydrothermal-combustion reaction was *** doping of Ln3+into Sr2 CeO4 has little influence on the structure of host,and the as-prepared samples display wellcrystallized spherical or elliptical shape with an average particle size at about 100-200 *** Eu3+ions-doped Sr2 CeO4,with the increase of Eu3+-doping concentration,the blue light emission band with the maximum at 468 nm originating from a Ce4+→O2-charge transfer of the host decreases obviously and the characteristic red light emission of Eu3+(5 D0→7 F2 transition at 618 nm)is enhanced ***,the fluorescent lifetime of the broadband emission of Sr2 CeO4 decreases with the doping of Eu3+,indicating an efficient energy transfer from the host to the doping Eu3+*** ene rgy transfer efficiency from the host to Eu3+was investigated in detail,and the emitting color of Sr2 CeO4:Eu3+can be easily tuned from blue to red by varying the doping concentration of Eu3+***,the luminescence of Dy3+-doped Sr2 CeO4 was also *** energy transfer pheno menon can be observed,and the incorporation of Dy3+into Sr2 CeO4 host leads to the characteristic emission of 4 F9/2→6 H15/2(488 nm,blue light)and 4 F9/2→6 H13/2(574 nm,yellow light)of Dy3+.The Sr2 CeO4:Ln3+fine particles with tunable luminescence are quite beneficial for its potential applications in the optoelectronic fields.

Innexin proteins are a class of transmembrane proteins existing in invertebrates and they have diverse biological functions. The innexin protein Sp-inx2 has been demonstrated to play roles in immune response and promotion of cell apoptosis in the mud crab Scylla paramamosain . One novel innexin gene, named as Sp-inx3 was characterized from S. paramamosin in this study, with an open reading frame of 1 101 bp encoding 367 amino acid residues. Multiple sequence alignment revealed that the Sp-inx3 is highly homologous with innexin3 of Cancer boredis and Homorus americanus . Quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) and the western blotting results revealed that Sp-inx3 gene was expressed predominantly in the eyestalk, brain, and thoracic ganglion mass in both female and male crabs. The immunohistochemistry assay (IHC) also showed the widespread and intense immunoreactivity of Sp-inx3 in the brain and thoracic ganglion mass. Sp-inx3 mRNA transcription profi les exhibited signifi cantly higher expression from the embryo1 to embryo4 period and low level of expression at the prehatching period and zoea I larva period of S . paramamosain . These results indicate that the Sp-inx3 may play an important role in the nervous system and early embryonic development of S . paramamosain.

Correlations of fire-induced temperature have been reviewed and *** impact of XY factors,i.e.,the relative locations of the fire source and vent,on temperature models of ceiling-vented compartments could be reflected by the exponents of the two dimensionless terms which represent the ratio of the total energy to energy released through the ceiling vent,and the ratio of the energy lost through the walls to the energy released through the ceiling *** fires not located directly below the ceiling vent,the temperature rise was proportional to two thirds of the power of the heat release rate,while for fires immediately beneath this vent,the temperature rise was proportional to four thirds the power of the heat release rate,and was inversely proportional to one sixth the power of the ceiling vent size.

Molecular analyses of bacterioplankton communities with highly abundant Vibrio clades: a case study in Bohai Sea coastal waters

We investigated the bacterioplankton abundance, community composition and the associated Vibrio clades of natural seawater in Bohai Sea coastal waters. Seawater samples (10 L in triplicate) were collected at 0.5, 3, and 5 m depths near the coastal aquaculture zone of the Bohai Sea on May 12, 2016. Real-time PCR and 16S rRNA gene amplicon high-throughput sequencing methods were employed by which 485 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) at a 97% sequence similarity level were generated. Gammaproteobacteria, Alphaproteobacteria, and Bacteroidetes were the most abundant groups, accounting for 49.5%, 23.5%, and 18.9% of the total assemblage, respectively. Obvious variations in Pseudoalteromonas, Vibrio, and Octadecabacter , which were the most abundant genera, could be observed among diff erent samples. Notably, the results of Vibrio -specifi c real-time PCR indicated that Vibrio had extremely high 16S rRNA gene copy numbers. The 16S rRNA gene sequencing results across all the samples also indicated that they occupied a large proportion of the total assemblage. Both the alpha diversity and major bacterioplankton group Pseudoalteromonas had significant correlations with the concentration of PO4^3-. Overall, studies on bacterioplankton communities with highly abundant Vibrio clades can provide interesting insight into the microbial function and health assessment of the Bohai Sea coastal ecosystem.

Intracranial atherosclerotic disease(ICAD) is the most common cause of ischemic stroke. Poor understanding of the disease due to limited human data leads to imprecise treatment. Apolipoprotein E knockout(ApoE-KO) rabbits were compared to an existing model, the Watanabe heritable hyperlipidemic(WHHL) rabbit, and wild-type New Zealand white(NZW) rabbit controls. Intracranial artery samples were assessed on histopathology for the presence of ICAD. Logistic and ordinal regression analyses were performed to assess for disease presence and severity, respectively. Eighteen rabbits and 54 artery segments were analyzed. Univariate logistic analysis confirmed the presence of ICAD in model rabbits(P <.001), while no difference was found between WHHL and ApoE-KO rabbits(P =.178). In multivariate analysis, only classification as a model vs wild-type animal(P <.001) was associated with the presence of ICAD. Univariate ordinal regression analysis demonstrated an association between ICAD severity and model animals(P =.001), with no difference was noted between WHHL and ApoE-KO rabbits(P =.528). In multivariate ordinal regression analysis, only classification as a model retained significance(P <.001). ICAD can be reliably produced in ApoE-KO rabbits, developing the disease comparably to the older WHHL model. Further analysis is warranted to optimize accelerated development of ICAD in ApoE-KO rabbits to more efficiently study this disease.
