To the Editor:Downstaging therapy has been confirmed to help patients whose tumors are beyond the liver transplantation (LT) criteria to gain the opportunity for LT with long-term survival.Zhan et al.[1] recently demonstrated that patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) beyond the Hangzhou criteria on initial diagnosis without extra hepatic metastasis or vascular invasion have comparative outcomes with those matching Milan criteria after LT if these patients are successfully downstaged to the Hangzhou criteria[1].However,whether the downstaging therapy prolongs the survival time of those with portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT) is not clear.Our study was to add some data in this field.

Little information was so far available about allergenic mechanism of the roasted peanut allergens during initial stages of allergy.The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of roasting(150℃,20 min)on biochemical and biological properties of Ara h 3,a major peanut allergen.Allergenicity of roasted peanut emulsion to mice,differences in uptakes between Ara h 3 purified from raw peanuts(named as Ara h 3-Raw)and that purified from roasted peanuts(named as Ara h 3-Roasted)by bone marrow-derived dendritic cells(BMDCs)and the implication of cell surface receptors involving in uptake,and changes in glycosylation and structure of Ara h 3 after roasting were analyzed in this study.This study suggested that roasting increased allergenicity of peanut to BALB/c mice.Maillard reaction and structural changes of Ara h 3 induced by roasting significantly altered the uptake of Ara h 3-Roasted by BMDCs,and modified Ara h 3 fate in processes involved in immunogenicity and hyper allergenicity,indicating that food processing pattern can change food allergenicity.

Cancer stem cell-like cells(CSCs)play an integral role in the heterogeneity,metastasis,and treatment resistance of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)due to their high tumor initiation capacity and plasticity.Here,we identified a candidate gene named LIMP-2 as a novel therapeutic target regulating HNSCC progression and CSC properties.The high expression of LIMP-2 in HNSCC patients suggested a poor prognosis and potential immunotherapy resistance.

Zero-shot semantic segmentation, which is developed to segment unseen categories, has attracted increasing attention due to its strong practicability. Previous approaches usually applied semantic-visual mapping based on seen categories to unseen categories, and thus failed to generate meaningful unseen visual representations and struggled to balance the seen and unseen concepts in the classifier. To overcome the above limitations, we propose a novel meaningful learning method that could be embedded into any generationbased zero-shot semantic segmentation model, borrowing the idea from the educational psychology field. The proposed meaningful learning method refers to the process that the new concepts could be learned by relating to existing comprehensible concepts and harmoniously incorporated into the concept schema. Specifically, we introduce a generator with conjugate conceptual correlation(G3C) which generates meaningful unseen visual information through anchoring into existing concepts. Moreover, simulating the rational thinking mechanism,we introduce a fast-slow concept modulator to alleviate the noisy over-correlation problem introduced by G3C and further construct a comprehensive concept schema. Extensive experiments conducted on three benchmarks demonstrate the superior performance of our method, especially according to the commonlyacknowledged h-m Io U(e.g., 4% improvement on the Pascal-VOC dataset).

SBFT:A BFT Consensus Mechanism Based on DQN Algorithm for Industrial Internet of Thing

With the development and widespread use of blockchain in recent years,many projects have introduced blockchain technology to solve the growing security issues of the Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT).However,due to the conflict between the operational performance and security of the blockchain system and the compatibility issues with a large number of IIoT devices running together,the mainstream blockchain system cannot be applied to IIoT scenarios.In order to solve these problems,this paper proposes SBFT(Speculative Byzantine Consensus Protocol),a flexible and scalable blockchain consensus mechanism for the Industrial Internet of Things.SBFT has a consensus process based on speculation,improving the throughput and consensus speed of blockchain systems and reducing communication overhead.In order to improve the compatibility and scalability of the blockchain system,we select some nodes to participate in the consensus,and these nodes have better performance in the network.Since multiple properties determine node performance,we abstract the node selection problem as a joint optimization problem and use Dueling Deep Q Learning(DQL)to solve it.Finally,we evaluate the performance of the scheme through simulation,and the simulation results prove the superiority of our scheme.

How the development of barren land into orchards affects soil ecosystem in Tibet,China

Fruit production is an important strategy for alleviating poverty on the Tibetan Plateau and leads to the conversion of natural barren land into orchards.This study aimed to understand how the conversion of barren land to peach(Prunus persica)orchards affects soil nutrients,heavy metals,and fungal communities in the 0–40 cm profile(at 20 cm intervals)in an experiment including three treatments,barren land(BL),peach orchards planting for 4 years(Y4),and peach orchards planting for 10 years(Y10).Results of the experiment showed that compared with BL,Y4 reduced the availability of some macronutrients(N and K)and micronutrients(Fe and Mn)due to the exclusive application of chemical fertilizer at the seedling stage.Conversely,Y10,which included six years of green cultivation management,using a combination of sheep manure and chemical fertilizer as well as alfalfa(Medicago sativa Linn)intercropping,effectively improved soil macronutrients,but did not enhance the availability of Fe and Mn.Although the investigated heavy metals(As,Hg,Pb,Cr,and Cd)in both the Y4 and Y10 soils were found to pose a low risk to food safety and soil environment,Hg,Cr,and As tended to accumulate in the subsoil(20–40 cm).Furthermore,the variations in the fungal community composition and functional groups were mainly driven by the interaction effects of macronutrients,micronutrients,and heavy metals,but their independent contribution to specific key functional groups cannot be overlooked.For example,Y4 and Y10 decreased the relative abundance of soil saprotrophic and lichenized fungi,mainly due to the loss of micronutrients(Fe and Mn).However,as a result of macronutrient input and dung saprotrophic fungi enrichment,orchard soils promoted the growth of pathogens that play critical roles in fungal co-occurrence networks.These findings indicate that supplementation with N or K fertilizer or manure at the seedling stage and fertilizers rich in Fe and Mn throughout the growth period would be beneficial to the balance of soil nutrients and provide ins

为研究双钢管混凝土复合构件的截面抗弯性能,开展了双圆钢管混凝复合(CFDST)构件在弯曲荷载作用下的试验和数值分析研究。首先进行7个双圆钢管混凝复合柱的受弯试验研究(包括5个CFDST试件以及1个常规CFST试件和1个DCFST试件),主要考虑了混凝土抗压强度、钢管厚度和直径比对其抗弯性能的影响,分析了CFDST受弯失效模式、弯矩-曲率曲线、CFDST的挠度曲线以及截面纵向应变的分布。其次针对CFDST构件开展了非线性数值模拟分析,基于试验极限强度和失效模式验证后,进一步进行了主要参数的影响规律分析。研究结果表明:在弯曲荷载下CFDST构件表现出更好的延性行为,外管的面积对构件的抗弯承载力影响最大,混凝土的强度影响最小;在弯曲荷载作用下,相对于传统的钢管混凝土构件,CFDST构件的极限强度和延性有显著的提高,但与DCFST构件相比,CFDST构件的极限强度和延性的提高很小。

All-solid-state batteries(ASSBs)have been widely acknowledged as the key next-generation energy storage technology/device,due to their high safety and energy density.Among all solid electrolytes(SEs)that have been studied for ASSBs,sulfide SEs represent the most promising technical route due to their ultra-high ionic conductivity and desirable mechanical property.However,few results have been reported to study the thermal stability/safety issue of sulfide SEs and ASSBs.Herein,we develop the first-of-its-kind theoretical paradigm and a new conceptual parameter Th to quantitatively calculate/predict the essential thermal stability of sulfide SEs.This theoretical paradigm takes all types of parameters(e.***.crystal structure,localized polyhedra configuration,bond energy,bond type,bond number,normalization factor,and the energy correction factor)into consideration,and more importantly,can be simplified into one straightforward equation for its convenient application in any crystal-line systems.To prove its functionality,the typical experimental strategies(stoichiometric ratio control and elemental doping)are adopted for typical sul-fide SEs(Li7P3S11,Li3PS4)to improve their thermal stabilities,based on the predictions obtained from the derived theory and equation.Moreover,the potential doping elements to improve thermal stability of sulfide SEs are screened throughout the whole periodic table,and the theoretically predicted trends correspond well with experimental evidence.This work may represent the most critical breakthroughs in the research field of thermal stability for sul-fide SEs,not only because it fills the gap of this field,but also due to its precise and quantitative prediction based on a complete consideration of all parameters that determine their thermal stabilities.The handy model devel-oped herein can also be applied to any crystalline materials.

Natural fiber-reinforced polymers remained a hot topic of interest in material sciences over the last two decades.Such fibers are appealing in composite materials due to their renewability,low density,better specific strength,biodegradability,accessibility,and low cost.Polymers reinforced with natural fibers provide improved mechanical performance at a lower cost and could be the best alternative to synthetic fibers.Bio-fillers have gained much attention nowadays due to their cost-effectivity and the ability to modify base materials in the composite structure.Natural materials reinforced epoxy composites have a high capacity due to their eco-friendliness,economic feasibility,and technical viability.However,some parameters directly influence desired product performance.This review discusses various properties of natural fibers and their impact on the overall performance of natural fiber-based epoxy composites.It summarizes the recent research on natural fibers/bio-fillers reinforced epoxy biocomposites.

Confining carbon dots in amino-functionalized mesoporous silica:n→π^(*) interaction triggered deep-red solid-state fluorescence

Deep-red and near-infrared emissive carbon dots(CDs)are highly desired for bioimaging,especially in deep tissue imaging,but they are extremely rare and the known ones usually suffer from low-efficient fluorescence in water and aggregation-induced fluorescence quenching in solid state.In this work,CDs with intriguing solvent-dependent and two-photon fluorescence emissions have been prepared by a facile solvothermal method.Detailed characterizations reveal that there is an n→π*interaction between the carboxyl functional groups on CDs and the electron donor groups in solvent,which leads to the increase of energy density of CDs and the decrease of energy level,resulting in the red shift of luminescence with enhanced electron donating ability of solvent.Inspired by this finding,mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs)with suitable pore size and low biological toxicity are modified by amino groups to confine CDs,thus the deep-red fluorescence emission is achieved both in solid state and in water facilitated by the n→π*interaction of host-guest.The as-prepared CDs@EDA-MSN composite exhibits high-efficient fluorescence with 650 nm wavelength,low toxicity,and good biocompatibility,which endow them a promising application in bio-imaging.
