Pretreatment red blood cell distribution width as a predictive marker for postoperative complications after laparoscopic pancreatoduodenectomy

MiR-34a overexpression enhances the inhibitory effect of doxorubicin on HepG2 cells

BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the third leading cause of death from malignant tumors worldwide. More than 50% of HCC cases occur in China. Hepatocellular apoptosis after hepatectomy in obstructive jaundice in rats

AIM: To investigate the hepatocellular apoptosis after hepatectomy in obstructive jaundice and biliary decompression ***: After bile duct ligation for 7 days, rats were randomly divided into OB group in which the rats undervvent 70 % hepatectorny, OB-CD group in which the rats underwent hepatectorny accompanied by choledochoduodenostomy, CDHx group in which the rats underwent choledochoduodenostomy and then received 70 % hepatectomy on the fifth day after biliary decompression. The control group (Hx group) only underwent ***: The level of total serum bilirubin and serum enzymes was significantly lower in CD-Hx group than in OB-CD and OB groups on day 1, 3 and 5 after hepatectorny. The apeptotic index was significantly lower in CD-Hx group than in OB-CD and OB groups on day 3 and 5. The oligonucleosomal DNA fragments and Caspase-3 activity were also lower in CD-Hx group than in OB-CD and OB groups 3 days after hepatectorny,without differences between CD-Hx and Hx ***. Competitive adsorption of Cd, Cu, Hg and Pb by agricultural soils of the Changjiang and Zhujiang deltas in China

Soils can often be contaminated simultaneously by more than one heavy metal. The sorption-desorption behavior of a metal in a soil will be affected by the presence of other metals. Therefore, selective retention and competitive adsorption of the soils to heavy metals can affect their availability and movement through the soils. In this study, the simultaneous competitive adsorption of four heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Hg, and Pb) on ten agricultural soils collected from the Changjiang and Zhujiang deltas, China was assessed. The results showed that the competition affected the behavior of heavy metal cations in such a way that the soils adsorbed less Cd and Hg, and more Pb and Cu with increasing total metal concentrations, regardless of the molar concen- tration applied. As the applied concentrations increased, Pb and Cu adsorption increased, while Cd and Hg adsorption decreased. The adsorption sequence most found was Pb>Cu>Hg>Cd. The maximum adsorption capacity for the heavy metal cations was calculated, and affected markedly by soil properties. The results suggest that Hg and Cd have higher mobility associated to the lower adsorption and that Pb and Cu present the opposite behavior. Significant correlations were found between the maximum adsorption capacity of the metals and pH value and exchangeable acid, suggesting that soil pH and exchangeable acid were key factors controlling the solubility and mobility of the metals in the agricultural soils.

The Abundance and Population Dynamics of Leptocybe invasa (Hymenoptera:Eulophidae) Galls on Eucalyptus *** China

The blue gum chalcid, Leptocybe invasa Fisher ＆ La Salle, invaded China in 2007 and has subsequently caused substantial damage to eucalyptus trees. In the current paper, we investigated the susceptibility of 10 Eucalyptus spp. and Eucahetus dunnii to L. invasa in the field, determined the density of galls as well as the gall volume on these tree species, and monitored the population dynamics of wasps in Hainan and Guangdong provinces of China. The order of susceptibility to L. invasa was Eucalyptus urophyllaxEucalyptus camaldulensis〉E, urophylla （coppices）〉Eucalyptus exserta〉 Eucalyptus grandisxE, urophylla in Hainan, and Eucalyptus propinqua〉Eucalyptus saligna〉E, exserta〉Eucalyptus microcorys〉Eucahetus dunnii〉E, camaldulensis〉Eucalyptus tereticornis〉Eucalyptus robust in Guangdong, China. Although L. invasa generally damages the midribs and petioles of young leaves and the tender bark of twigs of eucalyptus, galls were not observed on leaves of E. microcorys, E. camaldulensis, or E. dunnii. Gall volume significantly differed among the tree species, and gall volume and wasp number were positively correlated. In Dongfang, Hainan Province, the overwintering period of L. invasa emergencing through the year was from the end of December to March of the next year, and the number of population was the greatest on E. urophylla^E, camaldulensis, and the smallest on E. grandis E. urophylla. In Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, L. invasa hardly emerged in winter from December to June of the next year, and the population was the greatest on E. propinqua, and the smallest on E. microcorys.

In this paper, disturbed sparse linear equations over the 0-1 finite field are considered. Due to the special structure of the problem, the standard alternating coordinate method can be implemented in such a way to yield a fast and efficient algorithm. Our alternating coordinate algorithm makes use of the sparsity of the coefficient matrix and the current residuals of the equations. Some hybrid techniques such as random restarts and genetic crossovers are also applied to improve our algorithm.

Brown needle-like crystals of CaEr2S4 were isolated as the major product from a reaction of elements and binary sulfides by a two-step flux technique. CaEr2S4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with a=12.845（4）, b=3.862（4）, c=13.001（2）（A）, V=645.0（7）（A）3,Z=4, F（000）=880,μ（MoKα）=27.794 mm^-1, the final R=0.0528 and wR=0.0562 for 1070observed reflections with I 〉 3σ（I）. The CaEr2S4 structure forms a three-dimensional framework that consists of interconnected tetra-octahedral Er4S18 fragments. Ca^2＋cations, in a monocapped trigonal prism geometry, are stuffed in two parallel rows into the one-dimensional channels along the b direction. CaEr2S4 is an infrared-transparent semiconductor with a band gap of 1.81 eV. Magnetic susceptibility measurements over 6～300 K indicate a Curie-Weiss paramagnetic behavior for the phase, with an effective magnetic moment of 9.64（1） μB per Er^3＋ ion.
