Monolayer(1L)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)have been attracting tremendous interest in recent years as promising candidate materials in atomic-scale optoelectronic devices due to their direct band gaps(1.5-2.2 eV)and strong light-matter ***,their practical applications are limited by low visible light absorption stemming from atomic thickness and negligible infrared ***,we report the triangular Sb_(2)O_(3) microresonators in wide thickness and lateral size distributions grown on 1L TMDCs and their created significant broadband enhancement of light adsorption and photoresponse in 1L WSe_(2) crystal via coexisting Fabry-Perot and whispering gallery type *** an example of demonstration,1L WSe_(2) crystal coupled to Sb_(2)O_(3) microresonators with widely distributed sizes exhibits the enhanced visible light absorption by up to 5 folds and the simultaneously extended near infrared(NIR)one of more than 50%.For application of 1L WSe_(2) in photodetection,incorporation of Sb2O3 microresonators leads to significantly enhanced visible light responsivity by~10^(4) order and expanded NIR one of more than 400 mA·W^(-1).Similar results have been observed in the other 1L W(Mo)dichalcogenides coupled to Sb2O3 *** work provides a new route for development of the high-performance monolayer TMDCs-based optoelectronic devices.

Spatial and Temporal Evolution Characteristics of PM2.5 in China from 1998 to 2016

The rapid development of China’s economy and urbanization has given rise to noticeable environmental problems,among which the change of air quality has received extensive *** panel data of PM2.5(particles with an aerodynamic diameter of 2.5μm or less)in 343 prefecture-level cities in China from 1998 to 2016 were statistically analyzed to reveal the characteristics of the temporal evolution and spatial variation of China’s air quality in the past two *** results show that:1)the overall deterioration trend of air quality is obvious throughout the *** variation trend of PM2.5 was divided into three phases:rapid-growth phase(1998–2007),lag phase(2006–2011)and mildly-incremental phase(2012–2016),with their average growth rates of 7.19%,-3.59%and 0.52%,respectively.2)The spatial difference of PM2.5 values in China increased significantly with *** 2003,the high-value area in the east has expanded rapidly,and polarization became much more *** change rate of PM2.5 is high in the east and west and low in the *** change rates of most areas in the west exceed more than 80%,and in the east lie somewhere between 40%and 60%.In the midlands,the change rate is not large and some regions even show a negative growth.3)The change rate of PM2.5 is also high in areas with higher ***,in regions where the change rate of PM2.5 is high,the value of PM2.5 is not always *** high change rate is mainly attributable to the low base value of PM2.5 and the cities concerned belong to sensitive areas.4)According to the PM2.5 warning index,the number of strong,medium,weak and non-warning areas in China is 45,85,159 and 54,respectively.

Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion(I/R)injury is a crucial factor that impacts the prognosis of recanalization therapy for acute ischemic stroke(AIS).It has been found that the brain renin-angiotensin system,especially the angiotensinⅡtype 1 receptor(AT1R)pathway,plays a significant role in cerebral I/R *** pathway is involved in processes such as oxidative stress,neuroinflammation,apoptosis,and it affects cerebrovascular autoregulation and the maintenance of blood-brain ***1R blocker(ARB),widely used as an antihypertensive agent,has demonstrated stroke prevention capabilities in numerous prospective studies,independent of its antihypertensive *** focusing on neurological diseases like Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease,and cognitive impairment have confirmed that ARBs exhibit neuroprotective effects and aid in improving neurological *** studies have shown that ARBs can reduce infarct volume and brain edema,inhibit multiple signaling pathways associated with I/R injury,restore energy levels in damaged brain regions,and rescue the penumbra by promoting neovascularization in cerebral I/R *** findings suggest that ARBs have potential to become a novel category of neuroprotecting agents for clinical treatment of ***,this review primarily provides a theoretical foundation and practical evidence for the future clinical utilization of ARBs as neuroprotective agents following reperfusion therapy for *** outlines the role of cerebral I/R injury through the AT1R pathway and highlights the research progressmadeonARBs in I/Rmodels.

Wireless underground sensor networks (WUSNs) are an emerging research field with promising applications. However, WUSNs links suffer from significant attenuation as the propagation of the signal needs to pass through soil, rock,and water. Magnetic induction (MI)-based transmission is proposed to overcome these issues as MI signal can penetrate most substances similarly without experiencing high path loss, which ensures the robustness of WUSNs links [1].

A single degenerated primer significantly improves COX1 barcoding performance in soil nematode community profiling

A new COX1 primer for soil nematode metabarcoding was designed,and this primer outperforms other commonly used COX1 primer pairs in species recovery and quantity of PCR products.•The lack of reference database is the main reason that led to the low species recovery in COX1 metabarcoding.•We expanded current NCBI database by adding 51 newly generated COX1 reference *** nematodes play important roles in soil ecosystems and often serve as bioindicators of soil *** identification of soil nematodes is often difficult due to their limited diagnostic characters and high phenotypic *** barcoding and metabarcoding techniques are promising but lack universal primers,especially for mitochondrial COX1 *** this study a degenerated COX1 forward primer COIFGED was *** primer pair(COIFGED/JB5GED)outperforms other four commonly used COX1 primer pairs in species recovery and quantity of polymerase chain reaction(PCR)*** metabarcoding analysis,the reads obtained from the new primer pair had the highest sequencing saturation threshold and amplicon sequence variant(ASV)diversity in comparison to other COX1 as well as 18S rRNA *** annotation of ASVs suggested the new primer pair initially recovered 9 and 6 out of 25 genera from mock communities,respectively,outperformed other COX1 primers,but underperformed the widely used 18S NF1/18Sr2b primers(16 out of 25 genera).By supplementing the COX1 database with our reference sequences,we recovered an additional 6 mock community species bringing the tally closer to that obtained with 18S *** summary,our newly designed COX1 primers significantly improved species recovery and thus can be supplementary or alternative to the conventional 18S metabarcoding.

Nitrogen deposition mediates more stochastic processes in structuring plant community than soil microbial community in the Eurasian steppe

Anthropogenic environmental changes may affect community assembly through mediating both deterministic(e.g.,competitive exclusion and environmental filtering)and stochastic processes(e.g.,birth/death and dispersal/colonization).It is traditionally thought that environmental changes have a larger mediation effect on stochastic processes in structuring soil microbial community than aboveground plant community;however,this hypothesis remains largely *** we report an unexpected pattern that nitrogen(N)deposition has a larger mediation effect on stochastic processes in structuring plant community than soil microbial community(those<2 mm in diameter,including archaea,bacteria,fungi,and protists)in the Eurasian *** performed a ten-year nitrogen deposition experiment in a semiarid grassland ecosystem in Inner Mongolia,manipulating nine rates(0–50 g N m^(-2)per year)at two frequencies(nitrogen added twice or 12 times per year)under two grassland management strategies(fencing or mowing).We separated the compositional variation of plant and soil microbial communities caused by each treatment into the deterministic and stochastic components with a recently-developed *** nitrogen addition rate increased,the relative importance of stochastic component of plant community first increased and then decreased,while that of soil microbial community first decreased and then *** the whole,the relative importance of stochastic component was significantly larger in plant community(0.552±0.035;mean±standard error)than in microbial community(0.427±0.035).Consistently,the proportion of compositional variation explained by the deterministic soil and community indices was smaller for plant community(0.172–0.186)than microbial community(0.240–0.767).Meanwhile,as nitrogen addition rate increased,the linkage between plant and microbial community composition first became weaker and then became *** larger stochasticity in plant community relative to microbial

Mannogalactoglucan from mushrooms protects pancreatic islets via restoring UPR and promotes insulin secretion in TIDM mice

Type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) lacks insulin secretion due to autoimmune deficiency of pancreaticβ-*** pancreatic islets and enhancing insulin secretion has been therapeutic *** is the main type of polysaccharide from natural mushroom,which has potential medicinal ***,the antidiabetic property of mannogalactoglucan in T1DM has not been fully *** this study,we obtained the neutral fraction of alkali-soluble Armillaria mellea polysaccharide(AAMP-N) with the structure of mannogalactoglucan from the fruiting body of *** and investigated the potential therapeutic value of AAMP-N in *** demonstrated that AAMP-N lowered blood glucose and improved diabetes symptoms in T1DM ***-N activated unfolded protein response(UPR) signaling pathway to maintain ER protein folding homeostasis and promote insulin secretion in *** that,AAMP-N promoted insulin synthesis via upregulating the expression of transcription factors,increased Ca^(2+) signals to stimulate intracellular insulin secretory vesicle transport via activating calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase Ⅱ(CamkⅡ) and cAMP/PKA signals,and enhanced insulin secretory vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane via vesicle-associated membrane protein 2(VAMP2).Collectively,these studies demonstrated that the therapeutic potential of AAMP-N on pancreatic islets function,indicating that mannogalactoglucan could be natural nutraceutical used for the treatment of T1DM.
