Transanal total mesorectal excision combined with intersphincteric resection has similar long-term oncological outcomes to laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection in low rectal cancer:a propensity score-matched cohort study

Background Transanal total mesorectal excision(taTME)or intersphincteric resection(ISR)has recently proven to be a valid and safe surgical procedure for low rectal ***,studies focusing on the combination of these two technologies are *** study aimed to evaluate perioperative results,long-termoncologic outcomes,and anorectal functions of patients with low rectal cancer undergoing taTME combined with ISR,by comparing with those of patients undergoing laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection(laAPR).Methods After 1:1 propensity score matching,200 patients with low rectal cancer who underwent laAPR(n=100)or taTME combined with ISR(n=100)between September 2013 and November 2019 were *** demographics,clinicopathological characteristics,oncological outcomes,and anal functional results were *** Patients in the taTME-combined-with-ISR group had less intraoperative blood loss(79.6672.6 vs 107.3665.1 mL,P=0.005)and a lower rate of post-operative complications(22.0%vs 44.0%,P<0.001)than those in the laAPR *** overall local recurrence rates were 7.0%in both groups within 3 years after *** 3-year disease-free survival rates were 86.3%in the taTME-combined-with-ISR group and 75.1%in the laAPR group(P=0.056),while the 3-year overall survival rates were 96.7%and 94.2%,respectively(P=0.319).There were 39 patients(45.3%)in the taTME-combined-with-ISR group who developed major low anterior resection syndrome,whereas 61 patients(70.9%)had good post-operative anal function(Wexner incontinence score≤10).Conclusion We found similar long-term oncological outcomes for patients with low rectal cancer undergoing laAPR and those undergoing taTME combined with *** receiving taTME combined with ISR had acceptable post-operative anorectal function.

Consistent and Accurate TDOA Localization in Dynamic NLOS Environments via Prior Information Independent Estimation

In the time-difference-of-arrival(TDOA)localization,robust least squares(LS)problems solved by mathematical programming were proven to be superior in mitigating the effects of non-line-of-sight(NLOS)***,the existing algorithms still suffer from two disadvantages:1)The algorithms strongly depend on prior information;2)The approaches do not satisfy the mean square error(MSE)optimal criterion of the measurement *** tackle the troubles,we first formulate an MSE minimization model for measurement noise by taking the source and the NLOS biases as *** obtain stable solutions,we introduce a penalty function to avoid abnormal *** further tackle the nonconvex locating problem with semidefinite relaxation ***,we incorporate mixed constraints and variable information to improve the estimation *** and experiments show that the proposed method achieves consistent performance and good accuracy in dynamic NLOS environments.

Revealing effect of Al content on oxidation of novel Co-Cr-Nb-W carbide-strengthened superalloy

The high-temperature oxidation behavior of novel Co-Cr-Nb-W carbide-strengthened wear-resistance alloys with different Al contents(1wt%,2wt%and 3wt%)at 950,1000 and 1050℃was thoroughly investigated by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and field emission electron probe *** porous property of NbC in-situ oxidation products(Nb_(2)O_(5),Co Nb_(2)O_(6)and Co_(4)Nb_(2)O_(9))induces a multi-layered oxide scale with micropores and ***-Cr-Nb-W alloy with 1 wt%Al undergoes catastrophic oxidation and spalling above 1000℃.The outward transportation of Cr and Co is effectively restrained by a continuous Al_(2)O_(3)scale formed around NbC in-situ oxidation region when Al content reaches 3 wt%.The β-Co Al in Co-Cr-Nb-W alloy with 3 wt%Al has an oxidation priority over eutectic carbides and the alloy matrix which are both enriched with Cr,thereby preventing the formation of Cr-depletion area and improving the self-healing ability of the oxide film.A slight change in Al content has a remarkable influence on the cooperative effect of Al and Cr and multiplies the antioxidant capacity of Co-Cr-Nb-W alloy above 1000℃.

Synthesis of carbon nitride in potassium hydroxide molten salt for efficient uranium extraction from radioactive wastewater

Photocatalysis-assisted removal of uranium has been proven as an effective method for the elimination of radioactive pollution from *** this work,carbon nitride materials were synthesized in potassium hydroxide(KOH)molten salt and applied to photocatalytic uranyl *** materials were confirmed to possess the triazine-s-heptazine structure by NMR,XPS and UV-Vis characterization,and exhibited a wider visible light absorption than graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4)).The photocatalytic activity of the carbon nitride materials was tailored by varying the precursor mass *** carbon nitride obtained at 80%melamine as precursor(K-CN-80)exhibited the highest photocatalytic extraction ability and its photocatalytic reaction rate is 6.6 times faster than that of g-C_(3)N_(4).The influence of sacrificial agents was studied and the results showed that triethanolamine inhibited U(Ⅵ)photoreduction,but methanol can accelerate U(Ⅵ)photoreduction by consuming photogenerated *** unary KOH molten salt synthesis method has exceptional potential applications in the preparation of carbon nitrides,and the obtained products showed potential in extracting U(Ⅵ)from aqueous solutions for use in nuclear fuel industry and for U(Ⅵ)environmental pollution cleanup.

Numerical and experimental investigation on hydraulic-electric rock fragmentation of heterogeneous granite

Hydraulic-electric rock fragmentation(HERF)plays a significant role in improving the efficiency of high voltage pulse rock ***,the underlying mechanism of HERF remains *** this study,considering the heterogeneity of the rock,microscopic thermodynamic properties,and shockwave time domain waveforms,based on the shockwave model,digital imaging technology and the discrete element method,the cyclic loading numerical simulations of HERF is achieved by coupling electrical,thermal,and solid mechanics under different formation temperatures,confining pressure,initial peak voltage,electrode bit diameter,and loading ***,the HERF discharge system is conducive to the laboratory experiments with various electrical parameters and the resulting broken pits are numerically reconstructed to obtain the geometric *** results show that,the completely broken area consists of powdery rock *** the pre-broken zone,the mineral cementation of the rock determines the transition of type CⅠcracks to type CⅡand type CⅢ***,the peak pressure of the shockwave increased with initial peak voltage but decreased with electrode bit diameter,while the wave front time ***,increasing well depth,formation temperature and confining pressure augment and inhibit HERF,but once confining pressure surpassed the threshold of 60 MPa for 152.40,215.90,and 228.60 mm electrode bits,and 40 MPa for 309.88 mm electrode bits,HERF is ***,for the same kind of rock,the volume and width of the broken pit increase with higher initial peak voltage and rock fissures will promote ***,the electrode drill bit with a 215.90 mm diameter is more suitable for drilling pink *** research contributes to a better microscopic understanding of HERF and provides valuable insights for electrode bit selection,as well as the optimization of circuit parameters for HERF technology.
