N,O-coupling towards the selectively electrochemical production of H_(2)O_(2)

Hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))synthesis generally involves the energy-intensive anthraquinone process.Alternatively,electrochemical synthesis provides a green,economical,and environmentally friendly route to prepare H_(2)O_(2) via the two-electron oxygen reduction reaction,but this process requires efficient catalysts with high activity and selectivity simultaneously.Here,we report an N,O co-doped carbon xerogel-based electrocatalyst(NO-CX)prepared by a simple and economical method.The NO-CX catalyst exhibits a high H_(2)O_(2) selectivity over 90%in a potential range of 0.2-0.6 V and a high H_(2)O_(2) production rate of 1410 mmol gcat^(-1) h^(-1).The density functional theory calculations demonstrate that the coupling effect between N and O can effectively induce the redistribution of surface charge and the edge carbon atom adjacent to an ether group and a graphite nitrogen atom is the active site.This work provides a straightforward and low-cost process to produce highly selective H_(2)O_(2) catalysts,which is in place for the expansion of electrocatalytic synthesis of useful chemicals.

Measurement and correlation of the solubility of sodium acetate in eight pure and binary solvents

The knowledge of solubility of a salt in either the pure solvent or blend solvent is of great importance for studying or operating the crystallization,extraction,and distillation processes.The solubility of sodium acetate(NaAc)in four pure solvents(water,ethanol,acetic acid and 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol)and four binary solvents(water–ethanol,water-acetic acid,acetic acid–ethanol,and acetic acid-ethyl acetate)were measured by using the laser dynamic method at temperatures from 288.15 K to 338.15 K at 0.1 MPa.The results showed that the solubility of NaAc was influenced by either the solution temperature or solvent composition.The aqueous sodium acetate solution possessed the maximal solubility under the experimental conditions.The solubility of NaAc in 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol was found to be decreased with the increase of the solution temperature.While,the solubilities of NaAc in other seven solvents increased as the solution temperature was elevated.Besides,five correlation models,including the van’t Hoff model,modified Apelblat model,Yaws model,λh model,and modified Apelblat-Jouyban-Acree model were used to correlate the solubility data of those sodium acetate solutions with acceptable deviation,respectively.Finally,van’t Hoff analysis method was selected to analyze the change law of thermodynamic properties of a salt during the dissolution process.

Self-powered and bipolar photodetector based on a van der Waals metal-semiconductor junction:Graphene/WSe_(2)/Fe_(3)GeTe_(2) heterojunction

A self-driven photosensor with signal-reversal response has the potential to work as a photodetector in complex environments with multiple signals owing to better signal recognition and enhanced signal-processing efficiency.Herein,a metal-semiconductor-metal photodetector based on ambipolar WSe_(2) with two electrodes comprising two-dimensional(2 D) van der Waals(vdWs) metal Fe_(3)GeTe_(2) and semimetal graphene was proposed to form an asymmetrical metal-contacted architecture with different Schottky barrier heights.The regulating gate field-induced Fermi level shift in WSe_(2) can be used to manipulate the WSe_(2) channel’s carrier type,resulting in a polarity-reversible photodetector without a bias voltage.Furthermore,the photovoltaic effect can be observed from wavelengths of 450 nm(visible) to 850 nm(infrared) without external voltage.The large open voltage is -0.177 V and short-circuit current is 17 nA under a 650-nm excitation wavelength.The reported WSe_(2)-based photodetector exhibits excellent properties under zero bias,including a large photo-to-dark current ratio greater than 10^(6) with dark current less than 1 fA,photovoltaic performance with an external quantum efficiency of 27.14%,an excellent detectivity of 3.4×10^(10) Jones,and a high responsivity of 116.38 mA/W.Rapid electron transfer occurs at the interface between WSe_(2) and vd Ws electrodes,resulting in a 370-μs response speed owing to the clean and nondestructive interfaces between vd Ws metals and WSe_(2).This study demonstrates the wide application prospect of the vd Ws metal Fe_(3)GeTe_(2) as an electrode forming a Schottky junction for realizing a photodetector without an external voltage and accelerates the development of 2 D photosensors with various working modes.

Biocompatible hierarchical zwitterionic polymer brushes with bacterial phosphatase activated antibacterial activity

Hierarchical polymer brushes have been considered as an effective and promising method for preventing implant-associated infections via multiple antibacterial mechanisms.Herein,a bacterial phosphatase re-sponsive surface with hierarchical zwitterionic structures was developed for timely dealing with the poly-meric implant-associated bacterial infection.The hierarchical polymeric architecture was subtly realized on model polypropylene(PP)substrate by sequential photo living grafting of poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate(PDMAEMA)bottom layer and zwitterionic poly(sulfobetaine methacrylate)(PSBMA)upper layer,followed by the conversion of the PDMAEMA into the zwitterionic structure via succes-sive quaternization and phosphorylation reactions.Owing to shielding the bottom polycations,the hi-erarchical zwitterionic polymer brushes guaranteed the surface with the optimal biocompatibility under the normal physiological environment.Once bacteria are invaded,the surface bactericidal activity of the bottom layer can be rapidly and automatically activated owing to the transition triggered by bacterial phosphatase from zwitterion to polycation.Additionally,ameliorated by the upper layer,the hierarchical surface showed obvious adhesion resistance to dead bacterial cells and notably migrated the cytotoxic-ity of exposed polycation after completion of the bactericidal task.As a proof-of-principle demonstration,this self-adaptive hierarchical surface with sensitive bacterial responsiveness and biocompatibility showed great potential in combating hernia mesh-related infection.This work provides a promising and universal strategy for the on-demand prevention of medical device-associated infections.

Solubility of Potassium Acetate in Water,2,2,2-Trifluoroethanol,Ethanol and Their Binary Mixtures at 288.15—333.15 K

The potassium acetate solutions are new potential working fluids for the closed-type reverse electrodialy-sis(RED)power generation system driven by thennal energy.In this paper,the solubilities of potassium acetate in water,2,2,2-trilluoroethaiiol,ethanol and their binary mixtures were measured by using the laser dynamic method over the temperature range of 288.15 to 333.15 K under atmospheric pressure.The results indicate that the solubility of potassium acetate solution is influenced by both the solvent components and solution temperature evidently.Besides,it is found that the measured solubility data of the potassium acetate-water-2,2,2-trifluoroethanol solutions as per the laser dynamic method are sliglitly larger than that of the data obtained as per the static method.Finally,five correlation models,including the Van?t Hoff model,Modified Apelblat model,Yaws model,A/z model and Modified Apelblat-Jouyban-Acree model,were used to correlate the measured solubility data of those potassium acetate solutions,with the relative standard deviations within 0.23%to 1.58%.

SENP2-mediated SERCA2a deSUMOylation increases calcium overload in cardiomyocytes to aggravate myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury

Background:Sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase 2a(SERCA2a)is a key protein that maintains myocardial Ca2+homeostasis.The present study aimed to investigate the mechanism underlying the SERCA2a-SUMOylation(small ubiquitinlike modifier)process after ischemia/reperfusion injury(I/RI)in vitro and in vivo.Methods:Calcium transient and systolic/diastolic function of cardiomyocytes isolated from Serca2a knockout(KO)and wildtype mice with I/RI were compared.SUMO-relevant protein expression and localization were detected by quantitative real-time PCR(RT-qPCR),Western blotting,and immunofluorescence in vitro and in vivo.Serca2a-SUMOylation,infarct size,and cardiac function of Senp1 or Senp2 overexpressed/suppressed adenovirus infected cardiomyocytes,were detected by immunoprecipitation,triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC)-Evans blue staining,and echocardiography respectively.Results:The results showed that the changes of Fura-2 fluorescence intensity and contraction amplitude of cardiomyocytes decreased in the I/RI groups and were further reduced in the Serca2a KO+I/RI groups.Senp1 and Senp2 messenger ribose nucleic acid(mRNA)and protein expression levels in vivo and in cardiomyocytes were highest at 6 h and declined at 12 h after I/RI.However,the highest levels in HL-1 cells were recorded at 12 h.Senp2 expression increased in the cytoplasm,unlike that of Senp1.Inhibition of Senp2 protein reversed the I/RI-induced Serca2a-SUMOylation decline,reduced the infarction area,and improved cardiac function,while inhibition of Senp1 protein could not restore the above indicators.Conclusion:I/RI activated Senp1 and Senp2 protein expression,which promoted Serca2a-deSUMOylation,while inhibition of Senp2 expression reversed Serca2a-SUMOylation and improved cardiac function.

Two-flavor quark matter in the perturbation theory with full thermodynamic consistency

Direct extrapolation of the strong interaction between quarks in pure perturbative calculation has a problem of thermodynamic inconsistency.A new term determined by thermodynamic consistency requirement could resolve it.This new term plays an important role at lower density in describing the equation of state of quark matter,while it is negligible at high density.Accordingly,the density behavior of the sound velocity becomes more reasonable,and the maximum mass of quark stars can be as large as two times the solar mass.

Biocalcification crisis in the continental shelf under ocean acidification

Ocean acidification(OA)is a persistent challenge for humans and is predicted to have deleterious effects on marine organisms,especially marine calcifiers such as coral and foraminifera.Benthic foraminifera is an important component of sediment in the continental shelf,while little is known about the impact of ocean acidification on benthic foraminifera both at the community and individual level and associated calcium carbonate deposition.We conducted eight months continued culture experiment under the scenario of 400,800,1200 and 1600 ppm pCO_(2)gradients on living benthic foraminifera from four stations in the continental shelf of the West Pacific Ocean.Statistic results showed OA had a negative effect on the abundance of benthic foraminifera.In contrast,the diversity increased roughly under OA conditions implying OA might stimulate the emergence of rare species and promote community diversity to some extent.In addition,we confirmed that the offshore area wasn’t the refuge for benthic foraminifera while the nearshore one had more resistance to moderate acidification.Calcareous species Protelphidium tuberculatum was the dominant species occupying on average 75%in all treatments and its shell diameter,weight and thickness showed a decrease,indicating the decrease of calcification of benthic foraminifera.A relationship between the weight of P.tuberculatum and pCO_(2)(R^(2)=0.96)was established.Based on the present work,calcareous benthic foraminifera deposited 8.57104 t calcium carbonate per year and this might reduce by nearly half and 90%under 800 and 1200 ppm scenarios,which indicates a biocalcification crisis under ongoing OA.This work shows an analogy for palaeoceanic OA and also provides new insights into the sediment of calcium carbonate in the future.

“技能型社会建设”课题的提出是我国职业教育发展具有历史转折意义的重要事件,它使职业教育发展从系统建设内部要素,转向了系统建设外部社会条件,核心任务是通过建设技能型社会为职业教育发展创造条件,解决职业教育发展中的深层社会问题,满足产业发展对技能人才的需求。技能形成过程包括四个关键环节,即理性的教育选择、丰富的技能训练机会供给、有效的技能配置与合理的技能劳动成果认定,它们构成了技能型社会的基本结构。合理的教育选择观念是技能型社会建设的逻辑起点,对教育选择观念产生关键性影响的因素存在于技能训练机会供给、技能配置、技能劳动成果认定这三个环节。技能型社会建设,要根据各因素相互作用关系聚焦问题解决关键点,根据各因素问题解决的难易程度规划建设进程,根据各因素的职能归属规划技能型社会建设任务落实主体,根据各因素作用的性质设计有针对性的解决策略。

个体主动选择职业教育是建设技能型社会的重要标志。信号理论认为造成个体不愿意主动选择职业教育的主要原因在于雇主发射的优势信号未能沿着传递机制传递到个体。正常情况下,作为优势信号的专业技能信号和技术知识能力信号沿着教育传递机制和社会传递机制传递到个体,从而促使个体主动选择职业教育。由于职业启蒙教育制度不健全、雇主发射优势信号模糊以及大众传媒对优势信号宣传力度不足等原因阻断了上述优势信号传递机制。对此,应从完善职业启蒙教育制度、完善劳动力市场信息机制以及营造优势信号传递舆论环境等方面入手破除优势信号传递机制的阻断因素。
